I just bought a package of GWS parts. It included: x2
GWS pico servos, x1 GWS R-4P 4 channel pico reciever, x1 GWS
ICS-50 ESC, and x1 7.2v 270mah batt. pack. All of that for $90 total. I think i got a pretty good deal. Anyway, I am planning to put it in the GWS Pico Stick. But i need some things first. it says on the manual that ill need a GWS micro FM crystal (UM-1). Does anyone know where i can get one of those? Also i need a 4 channel Tx ( thats compatable with my GWS reciever). Do any of you know where i can get a good cheap one that comes with a battery, charger, and no servos or reciever? or does anyone have one that they would like to sell?.......

P.S. on the Rx it tells me the polarity (S + -) but i dont know the polarity of the servo or ESC wires. Anyone else know?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,
First the source for GWS parts. I use Balsa Products www.balsapr.com they carry the crystals as well as other goodies. My personal choice for transmitters would be the Hitech line. You can pretty much match the capabilities with your pocket book. Important to me is the fact that they have an outstanding service and support group.
The polarity of the wires is generally: black=-, red=+, and orange or yellow =signal. The most noted exception would be JR who use brown for -.

Another question to ask is what shift is the reciever. There are positive and negative shift recievers, and you have to get the transmitter to match that shift. If I remember right, the JR and Airtronics equipment is positive, and the Futaba and Hitec stuff is negative, but I could be wrong. I personally use JR and know that they are positive.

Hi Mike, Are you positive that they are positive;) sorry about that. JR and Airtronics are postive shift, Futaba and Hitech are negative. The R4P receiver will have a sticker on it that either says "J" or "F". The J version is positive shift, the F version is negative.

LOL... Thanks for the chuckle Dave. I am glad, as I am sure Brandon is, that I mentioned this. would have been very frustrating getting the new tx home and not having it work with the reciever that you already have. Good luck with whatever you decide to buy, and, IMO, get the JR. :p Although anything that you get will serve you fine! I don't think that there is a bad radio out there, just people's preferences.
