How did you post your image so big, without the file size being too big?

Wow. That's just amazing, especially for only 2 hours work!

I must agree with everyone else that you pretty much ROCK when it comes to paint schemes. This is one of my favorites.

Do you have a website?

All his images are hosted at his own website (or an auxilery one) and he used HTML to post it. No size restrictions that way.

Sweet mother of paint. You did that in 2 hours. WOW! I'd luv to see what you do when you take ya time! Thats a real work of art man. Excellant color scheme, luv that violet touch with the black shadow. I'm amazed. Really sweet job!

Speedzone: Reguarding pic size, I know if u change the file extensions like to jpg or gif rather than bmp your pic wil retain their big size but the actual file size will be drastically reduced. A free prog called irfanview http://www.irfanview.com is great for reducing & resizing pics.

JMO! :p :D

Charlie:
Haunted Myst and i were talking the other day and came to the conclusion that you ahve the best techinque with an airbrush of anybody on here. I think it is because you are an airbrush guy who discovered R/C while the rest of us had a clear body and got an airbrush. Is this how you got started, i know your a pro painter and have done some movie stuff, how did you get into all of that?

Thanx Mab-
Actually..i really wish that was the case...
I purchased an Airbrush set at my local hobbyshop to paint my own cars. I definitely pondered the idea of having one for the longest time because i could also use it for my illustrations instead of water colors. It really was frustrating for me to paint because i had lots of ideas i wanted to paint on cars, but my technique was so limited...PAINT leaked everywhere! It would bleed through the tape, windows, i pretty much gave up on the "custom" paintjobs and started just painting simple ones. I later learned that my biggest fault was laying the paint TOO thick. A few layers actually do it. Also, when you lay the paint too thick, it is more prone to chipping. So..as i drew more and colored more in my drawings, i painted more cars and was more patient...not trying to get to the next coat in a hurry.

In the FX indusdtry, i started out as a Runner...buying materials for the studio and cleaning up the shop when everyone was done..then, I finally got my chance when the painters for the monster in the "Faculty" was running behind, i offered to help..so, i painted the tenticles for the monster. That is what started it all.

Paint Away!
Use a Mask!
Always find a way you can make a design better!

i actually just finished a pritty nice knockoff of hauntedmyst's lava technique, i choose it because it had lots of shading (airbrush practice) and gave a good platform to try bob's liquid mask. I will put up a few pics this week when i get a chance to take pictures of it.

The first lesson i learned in painting was putting to much on. The first body i ever did, the paint got under about %40 of the windows that i had masked. Now i need to work on applying that to airbrushes, i have a tendency to put to much on, i need to build up the layers better.

Haunted Myst's Technique is especially unique that his gradations tend to "come to life"..like tha molten technique. Making the gradations so subtle but you can see a definite change in colors definitely attracts the eye as well as on the track. that is definitley not easy to do but very effective when done right. HM has mastered this..Hats off to the Sir HM~!
