Ok i am thinking about getting the Hobbico Sturdy birdyII and the once i get good at flying take all the equipment out and get a PT40, but i dont want to buy two different engines. The Sturdy Birdy II you can fit .20-.40 egnines with a 6 oz tank and with the PT40 it can hold a .36-.46 with a 8 oz tank. I would only put a OS LA type engine into it because i love OS's so much. My OS.12CVR in my RC10GT is great. but anyway i have a feeling that if i put a .40 in the sturdy birdyII that it would be way overpowerd, but then i could put it in the PT40. If i got a .25 for it then it wouldnt fit in the PT40 and i would have to buy a brand new tank. My second question is would an 8 oz tank fit in the Sturdy Birdy II, because it said in tower hobbies that it requires a 6 oz tank. Well i cant wait to get into RC flying, thanks in advance for any replys.....

Hi B3guy,
Considering that the LA.40 is not exactly a ball of fire (sweet running though) I would go ahead and mount it on that Sturdy Birdy. Assuming you are going to have some "hands on" help at first, It is very possible to back off on the throttle and cruise. The tank size is pretty well linked to the power you are using. The smaller tank in the Sturdy Birdy will give runs about as long as the 8 oz. in the larger model which will need more throttle to move around. It sounds like you have some decent choices lined up.
