View Full Version : Glue n' Plastic
Hello all,
I'm just wondering, if you guys know a certain product, that can take CA, that drips on plastic covers, or any kind of material that CA does not belong.
Thanks,
2NG

Hi Man,
It sounds like you are looking for a material to protect something precious from CA drips. I have good luck with the large plastic lawn and leaf bags sold at WalMart, etc. I cut a couple of seams and this produces a nice big sheet of CA resistant plastic.
Cheers, Dave
Hey Man,
Actually, I need something that can take CA of a cover plane. I already covered the airplane and my last assembly, was to install the wind shield, as I was doing so. I applied CA, and the stuff dripped down to the cover, as well, as to the clear wind shield. I tried to wipe it off as fast, as I can, but all of my efforts, turned the wind shield in to a hazy looking smear.

Hi 2NG,
OK, now I am getting the idea. Removing CA from the covering is a matter of wetting a cloth with Acetone and rubbing it. It will take a couple of trips with fresh acetone, but it will come off. Several companies make a special CA remover, but the acetone from the hardware store is cheaper and plenty effective. That windshield is a whole 'nother matter. Acetone will make it dissapear big time. The winshield that is. About the only option would be polish. Something like the real fine car polish, or even toothpaste. What has happened is the CA has actually etched into the windshield plastic, and you would have to polish the thing clear again.
Good luck, Dave
Wow!!! You sure do know alot, Dave. Thanks, The toothpaste really works, I used acetone for nails. After reading you responce and tried it:) Problem solved:D
