I have a Traxxas Blast electric boat, and recently the speed controller died on me, and I'm using this as the time to plan a nitro conversion on the boat. I'm dropping in an OS Max .10 motor, and I plan on replacing the old drive shafts. I'm wondering if anyone thinks a .10 would be too small for a boat this size, I'm not trying to fly or anything, this is just the motor that's available to me. If that motor will probably be enough to get me going a little quicker than the 20 turn I've got in there now, what do you think about trim tabs and fins and things like that? I don't know much about fast boats, and I want to be able to keep this thing upright and under control. Any other info will definitely be appreciated as well...

Thanks a lot,
Cory B. Schneider

Cory,

You'll need to strengthen the plastic Blast hull to mount the .10 engine, plus you'll want to add additional piece of either thin plywood or plastic sheet to the inside of the transom to hold your trim tabs to the boat. This change from an electric to nitro power source can be done, but be prepared to workout alot of stuff along the way.
