Has anybody done this. If so is it efective. If not what do you think would happen. Also my moth flys faster because of a 280 on it. I was wondering if it would make the conversion a little better on turning.

Hello Thomas
Funny thing is I have been thinking about doing this for the last couple of nights now.How did you put the 280 on ?Are you using a gear drive or straight?I was planning on beefing up the leading edges and struts, getting some trailing edges to make the ailerons with running the controls to the bottoms and linking the bottoms with the uppers. But my delima is ,are upper and lower ailerons necessary?
also what effect would covering the bottoms of the wings with plasti wrap have??could we reuduce the dihedral on the plane?
Is this just a far fetched idea or can it be pulled off hmmm I think Im going to go ahead with it and see what happens....
Thank You
MIKE

The 280 is gear driven. It has a three blade prop. I mounted it to the stick you would use for the GWS motor with rubber bands. You do need a lot of right thrust if you use the 280 for some reason. About the plastic wrap, I think Ill try it out without ailerons though. I can do it right now even though its dark. I have lights on my moth so I can test it now. In about an hour and a half I will post my results.

It flies. A bit faster than it did with undercambered wings and a bit more touchy on controls.
