This is my truck, Tiamat.

I don't really have a website describing how my truck was put together, but here are some pics.

Some specs on the truck:
-6061 aluminum chassis
-triple 1/4 scale steering servos
-triple Novak super rooster ESCs
-triple Kyosho Magnetic Mayhem motors

That is awsome! Just asking, how much it'd cost building something like that?
The semi body looks sweat!

AND, how long total, did it take to build?

You have 1 cool truck:cool: !

Hey beano, would you consider selling that truck? And if so, how much?

I want something like that VERY badly and don't have quite the building skills yet, to build something that cool!

Just looking at it, I have the perfect thing to add to that beauty.

What are all six channels for?
AND what kind of remote and receiver does it have?

I hope I'm not bugging you with all these questions, but that truck IS sweat, and I want to know more about it!

P.S. send me a message!;):)

Thanks for your comments and interest :)
In answer to your questions...

The truck took me about a month of weekends to construct using hand tools. Since then, i have purchased proper tooling (vertical mill, lathe, machine shop)

The truck was actually under budget... it was built from the two clods i had sitting in a closet gathering dust for years. Including tooling costs everything was about $2K USD.

The radio that i use is a Futaba 6YG, with surface frequencies. It is an entry level two-stick radio meant for airplanes or helis.
The receiver is the stock 7CH Futaba unit that is included in all of their FM (non PCM) radio kits.

I'm not using all six channels, but the channel layout i use is like this:
- Throttle (L stick, up-down)
- Air Horn (L stick, left-right)
- Steering (R stick, left-right)
- Turn signals (R stick, up-down)
- Driver's head turning (proportional flaps knob, left-right)

Here are some small videos of the truck in action. All of these are less than a meg each.

Goofing around in the snow (http://www.beanos.com/~tsoutij/stuff/tiamat_small09.wmv)

The truck has changed quite a bit in the last few weeks. I've been tinkering with it and changed the steering setup completely. The wheels have also been widened out making the truck about one and a half inches wider. I'll post some photos soon.

Building a truck like that doesn't have to be very expensive at all. The only real difference from a regular Clod would be the extra gearcase assembly and wheels/tires, and the extended chassis. 3 Super Roosters (Or EVX's in another truck) are a little overkill, as is a 6-channel radio. A single SR with milder motors would work well, and you could double up the packs to get 2X the capacity (Not 2X the voltage).

I'd would recommend a 3 channel radio: the 3rd channel can control steering on both rear wheels, so they won't move during high speed running, making it potentially unstable, but can be turned to make the truck steer sharply when you need to.

The chassis doesn't have to be that hard to make: You take the basic 'T' of a clod-style chassis, like the Juggernaut's chassis, and extend it back, making a second mounting point for the rearmost wheels.

Its great to see people are still building these. When the 6x6x6 craze first took off in the late '80's, independent hobby shop sold kits to patch two clod chassis together. Then Sassy Chassis came out with a nice aluminum version ready to go. Car Action did a number of features on these beast. First came a Blackfoot based version from Bill O'Brien, the Behemoth. The next issue, they featured Jon Freed's awesome Clod based Monster Mack. Later Bill O'Brien built the Bullhead version called the Wroad Wreaker.

The chassis wasnt meant to be put with this Lexan body, I took it off another 6X6 project I had but it was the longest one available that even came close to fitting on it... Considering that they dont make 6X6 lexan bodies

I hope you guys "Dig" it... :p
