I see your problem, Most Kyosho boats do not require painting. In fact my first boat was a kyosho blue streak. On the box, it shows an unpainted boat, but in the instructions they give yuo the option of painting your boat, and how to do it. If yuor body in clear (lexan) paint it from the inside. The glossy plastic is the natural shine. (It is doubtful that you boat is lexan, this usually only applies to cars) Most likely the body is opaque ABS plastic. And all you need to do is simply spray paint it with a fuel proof (Corrosion protection) paint that is readily available at a lcal hobby shop. Again you dont have to paint it, the decals are cool enough.

the viper is a nitro boat right? if im right, then the glow fuel used would slowly make cracks in the hull... that is, as soon as you get it on the hull. paint the inside with a fuel proof paint trust me!!
