I think it's time that a new thread get started on this bike since it's now available to the public. Post your questions, comments, etc...

Well, since this has been such a hot topic...

I finally had a few successful runs with the bike, turns out the only problem was that I had too much throw in the steering. After turning the EPA down to 55% on my M8, the thing runs great.
I'd like to find out how I can get ahold of some of the Nuova Faor hop ups. If anyone knows where or how, post it here.
I'm running the stock gearing with a 13 double Speedworks Retro mod, and the thing is a rocket. Great acceleration, and top speed is probably between 35 and 40 mph. I think I got around 15 to 20 minutes of run time with my 3000's, as well.
With the training skids on, you can start the bike out laying on it's side, give it some throttle, and it will pop up on two wheels. Once in motion, the bike is very stable. As a matter of fact, you can lean hard in to a corner off the throttle, then quickly feed power to it out of the apex. The rear tire breaks loose, but the bike continues on coursem just like the real race bikes. The rear steps out and jerks around, looks sweet.

I would really like to know a lot more about the new Thunder Tiger On-Road Motorcycle. At the first view, it looks so great, (well the scale realism is just great but preformance ??) the steel chain, the supsension looks great but are they ???. Does this R/C has a good handling ? as a normal 1/10 car ? I know it is a 1/5 scale so it might be big. Does this car have a tendance to roll over and break during a roll over ??? Can I race ( not serious) wiuth my friends ???Does this RC requires a lot more maintenance than a normal electric car ??? Can anyone tell me all they know about that R/C ? The good points, the bad points ???? Does anyone have it , if so likes and dislikes ???? If you do not own the motorcycle, do you think it is great, . It nay be a bit expensive but I have a real crush on it... if itM's good, i'm going to buy one for sure.

cept for the body its the same as the nuova faor bike reviewed in oct car action. It may b hard in the beginning 2 get it 2 stand up, but if ur racing with curves i wouldn't suggest racing ur friends with it, or drag racing might not work very well either.

I was looking at this motorcycle, and i thought of a pretty good setup. here it is:

Thunder Tiger FM-e1 motorcycle-249.99
Team Orion 8-turn Vortex brushless motor-86.99
Team Orion Vortex brushless ESC-169.99
Fantom Killer Voltz Sanyo 3000 HV NiHM cells-74.99
JR XR2 radio-99.99
JR Ultra Torque Mini Servo-65.99

How does this sound?

I know this is an older thread, but im really interested in one of these bikes. Im curious in getting one, its like the nuova faor but cheaper. Currently I have zero experience with rc motorcycles, or real bikes, but it seems like a really cool concept. I also don't want to spend 250 bucks to find out its a fragile design not worth buying. Does anyone have one? How fast is it with what turn motor? The whole aluminum chassis and chain drive is just so cool. to tperkins, I think an 8 turn would just spin the heck out of the rear tire, and be almost too powerful to be useable. I hope I get some response, because this rc motorcycles to me, but I want to get started!

08-09-2002, 06:46 PM
doesn't anyone have one of these things? I've met someone who has a italian nitro bike, which is pretty cool, but im interested in this bike. The electric ease sounds nice, and it sounds like it would still be fast with a 17 or 13 turn motor. I would like to combine that with a futaba speed control which i've used in my tl01, and use one of my old radios, and i will have a complete package. I havent found a review of it yet, or talked to anyone who owns on.

Hey, I found a place with a movie of the bike, the url is http://rotor.com.sg/tt/yamaha.html Its got a 4mb video of the bike cruising around what appears to be a mall... with some brief shots of a guy holding a hi-tech radio. They also have the price listed at 299 Singapore dollars, which after a quick conversion is about 170 us. pretty good, but im not sure where they ship, sent them an email regarding that

I'm gonna get one in a few months and drop a bl in. This forum doesn't have lots of info but if you go to some group at yahoo called radiocontrolmotorcycles (the groups link is on the yahoo homepage) that site has lots of info and some pics of peoples custom motorcycles and mods. another good site is www.mmperformance.net it explains how to steer one of these things. Just a tip don't order internationally to many risks of getting scammed or a misplaced/stolen package, on top of that there are all sorts of taxes and special "I'm importing this for you" shipping costs.

sxn
08-15-2002, 12:29 AM
normally, yea i wouldnt order internationally, but my friend already ordered from the sight, and also it IS 70 bucks cheaper... if you convert the money. Also, if you use a money order (yea, it will take a while) you can get an insurance policy again them just cashing it, or ripping you off... just an idea.

somedude2187
08-15-2002, 10:35 AM
Well If you know about them go for it. Have you checked out the sites yet?

sxn
08-15-2002, 02:31 PM
i know enough about them, but i havent found a review or anything... i wan't to know if its a worthy buy. Which sites?

somedude2187
08-15-2002, 04:34 PM
Ok links
1.www.nuovafaor.it this site has a review of the sf501 bike it is identical to the fm1e except for the body and wheels and I think the tires are a diff. compound. when you reach the site click moto then pg. 4 and scroll down until you see something that says rc car action.

2. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/radiocontrolmotorcycles/ this is a r/c bike site with info, pics click messages and do a search for what you want, you can't post unless you are regestered w/ yahoo. (they don't just discuss the nf/ttr bike here)

3. http://www.mmperformance.net/webpages/frame.html has building tips, driving tips, pics, and a trouble shooting section.

Yea I've seen that awesome bike to expensive for me right now though. If I remember correctly the bike is 6-700 and then shipping. Plus if you buy that bike a 3.5hp onroad engine is almost REQUIRED lol :D The truth is I'm more interested in nitro bikes than electric, but the aren't availible in that States. Plus with the new brushless excitement I might get out of nitro (to messy oily uggg).

yea im tired of cleaning greasy chassis... especially my terra crusher after a long day of driving in the dust and dirt

08-18-2002, 08:10 PM
man, that nitro dirt bike is amazing. all aluminum it looked like, with nobby tires and an OS squeezed in there. That much be a blast to drive... i want to see its body now.

somedude2187

08-20-2002, 06:47 PM
yea, i want to see some finished pics, as well at the paint scheme. I wonder if he got a totally custom body, or moded another moto body. the gallery on the benwell bikes page is amazing, like 50 pics... some racing shots too. the videos on the nuova faor sites are pretty amazing, one is on board bike cam, very nice:D

somedude2187
08-20-2002, 09:31 PM
The paint only comes per done on the ttr bike the nova has a clear body. I like the wheelies and endos that they show on the site. Yea I dl'ed the nf movies a while ago so cool stuff there.

I'm discouraged by the pre painted bod of the fm1e. (But I will find a way to remove the paint. Hopefully not melting the body away with it lol :D )

yes the second page haha

sxn
08-20-2002, 09:59 PM
i was talking about the paint scheme for the nitro dirt bike... thats also the custom body i was talking about. I was thinking if he custom fabricated an entire lexan body, or moded a different moto body. haha, don't worry about the fm-1e body paint, i always manages to take the paint of my bodies when i don't want to... try some nitro cleaner, or maybe even old fuel. They seem like they could do the trick, they're also good for removing decal residue. score! 2 pages, now we just need recognition from more than 2 people.

Nitro dirt bike my bad...it was 10 oclock musta been zoned out.

I was thinking the traxxas stuff thats pretty powerful. (just hope they used water base paint) BTW did you read the thread in the nitro forum about people lighting their cars on fire with that stuff.

I think more people are intrested in this bike that are replying. Look at how many people have seen this thread.

sxn
08-25-2002, 02:16 AM
yea, im glad alteast some people are reading the post... people, reply, even to tell me im stupid or something. Man, im trying to find out whats the situation with some of my other cars before i order the fm-1e, but i really want to get it. I even have a old radio system to use. I already know the esc and motor i want to get... now i just need to make the order.

I would get a TTR but there isn't anywhere with enough space near me.
The races must be insane, I've never seen a race but the Nuova Faor my LHS owner had looked sweet. He also showed me the instructions, they are sooo helpful:rolleyes:

Has anyone seen the bike tuning guide in the Racer UK mag?

Funny. I completely lost track of this thread, gave up on the bike and sold it. I loved it, but wasn't getting much response from local racers. I rarely keep anything around that I can't race.
And Tony, if you're reading this, I'd really like that 3000 pack back that you "borrowed" from me when you bought the bike from me nearly a year ago. Thanks. Just leave it up at A-Main. - Brendon

I'm just getting the hang of driving my TTR bike. I really gave the music wire skids a really beating - they are in a "swept-back" position from too many crashes. I'm planning to make "training wheels" to replace the wire skids.

But I did find some hop-ups for Kyosho 1/8 Leaning racers (that I just bought one from an island in Greece) here:

Another place to chat about RC bikes.:)
I have had my TT for a few weeks now and love it. It totally hauls A$$!:D
I have installed a servo saver kit on the steering linkage that replaces the silicone tube. I just could not get the bike to run true with any consistency. After a bit of tweaking it runs true all day long with little to no trim adjusting.
I installed a Novak Dually speed control (currently set at about 1/3 amp draw), A cheap Speed Gem Pro 11 turn (I expect it to wheelie when I turn up the speed control to unregulated setpoint), Futaba Magnum junior, 2400 maH Power Maxx battery sticks and a Super Brain charger.
Yeah, I dropped some serious coin for this new hobby.
But I figure since I cannot afford to get another new REAL bike for a looooong time, this was well worth it. I've always wanted one anyway.
I have yet to race it against any other RC's. It does about 35+ down the street. It is incedibly durable...(Read: crashed alot the first few times out and NO damage except the crash bars bending...bend them back).

Anyone here live in the Seattle area?

Here is a pic of my stock TT.
I've got a link to a pic of the steering setup i made.

http://www.mindspring.com/~mtk_3/screenshots/steerlinkage.jpg

I did this setup at the suggestion of a few guys on the Yahoo and Smartgroup groups. i'ts much easier to get the bike to track straight without messing with the trim so much. Getting rid of the triangular front tire is the next step.

Rode it today before the rain started again. I hope to get some video this weekend if the street drys out. I'll try to edit a few of the clips down to slow motion. I think my software can do that.

I just ordered a FM-1E tonight from Tower. I used to drive a Royal 1/5 motorcycle. It had training wheels to get you started. So the TTR only has wire skids? As I recall the training wheels were needed only during slow turning till I got used to controlling slow driving. At speed it tracked pretty well although it used to get some pretty bad steering shake from time to time. I don't recall the tires being triangular. Maybe that is a real problem since so many have complained about it. Wonder why TTR uses them?

Can the tires just be sanded into a rounded profile?

somedude2187
04-01-2003, 05:58 PM
my bike came on wed. last week. Im gonna get a novak brushless as soon as i get my paycheck. Took apart the suspension and refilled the rear shock so there are no air bubbles, and greased the front. TTR uses the triangular tires because they make it easier for the bike to roll onto an edge. No you can't sand them they are quite a steep angle, the thing to do is to buy round tires.

BTW have any of you seen www.teambenwell.co.uk LOTS of good info tests on motors tires center of gravity driving tips. check it out

somedude2187
04-02-2003, 06:58 PM
yea I sure will...looks good have you run it yet? xrc cars magizine compared it to a 10 turn and it came up short so its more like a 11 or 12, but i dont care if i dont have to work on it.

I just drove it this afternoon for the 1st time! It is a blast. Unfortunately the parking lot I chose had a lot of ruts and caused several severe tumbles. But otherwise it drives very nice and the Novak has plenty of speed for me. I opened it up a few times and quickly ran out of aprking lot and had to get on the brakes hard. Which causes another tumble if you lock the rear wheel up.

yeah i know right :) I was bidding on E Bay and got an email from another user telling me he had one for sale, Currently on the bid i was on the top with a bid for $215. then was out bidded within the last hour by a dead beat bidder, sucked for the seller but oh well. anyway after i lost i contacted the guy that emailed me and he told me everything he had and the price and i about fell over. I was like sure thing, got some pictures of the bike and all his info and paypalled the money right away. And here's the bike hehe.

I didnt call ehobbies, i emailed them, they were really really rude and didnt even answer half my questions which i put in a very formal looking and sounding email. I am looking for some more of those U shaped pieces for the sides, i lost one in a huge parkinglot i tested the bike in the other day and cant find it, I thought i could make one out of clothes hangers but it the wire is too big. I also want to buy a new body set but would prefer to get one blank, as in not from TT. But i havent seen where i can order one from another 1/5 sized bike. Also would like some tires like the ones in the pictures for the NF bikes. i like the way they look like real bike tires. anyway any help is appriecated.

nice. I get my paycheck on monday in cash yesssss $264 motor is only 240 so i have some left over.

I'm also thinking of making a brake for this thing with my next paycheck. I might need to ajust it but i think i can get a "sanded down" hpi fiber brake disc in there maybe for the back also?

has anyone tried taking off that paint job? I have some thinner lying around and some could deffinitly "spill" all over the rear trie guard to see what happens.

Real Lemons

I think the paint will come off alot like regular lexan paints will, because on my bike where the riders legs hang down the to the side of the bike, the part where the seat comes into contact with the frame has rubbed off some of the paint, you can just barely tell what i'm talking about in the picture of the bike without a rider. so assuming you can make the paint break up, i'm sure you could remove it, the only fear i'd have is getting half off and the rest not wanting to come off. i've had that happen with regular 1/10th sized bodies.

You can get it from Tower Hobbies for $235, and use the coupon for $15 = $220

About the paint, better ask the Paint & Body guys but I'm pretty sure any paint removers will melt down the Lexan.

yeah i found those baluster's but as you can tell they are on back order, when i emailed ehobbies the other day they where rude and basically said we'll get them in when we do if you cant wait call Thunder Tiger your self... so needless to say i'd rather not deal with them or at least not directly, i am probably going to order a new body from them just so i'll have a show one and a basher one, and maybe i can find some wire about the same gauge as this stuff and make my own... who knows. anyway thanks for the tire link, any other parts you've come across that are any good? what pitch pinion gear does this thing run, replacable spur gear? what sizes? let me know and thank you old phart

If you need a side guard quick get that piece of hanger back and sand down the side that slides. just make sure you dont over sand it.

rumor has it that there are 2 of the pd6065 bodies and one isn't clear. best to call ttr and know what your getting.

those grp tires are kickin they arent triangle like the stock ones.

actually its 227 b/c of shipping. but who cares

I measured the diameter of the baluster last night and it is .080" or 2mm thick. I made a set today at work out of .065" thick spring steel rod. I will just use a set screw to hold them in, which should be done with the stock baluster as well.

Oh and I don't pay shipping at Tower. I am a member of their club and always get free shipping plus other free goodies when you order. The club is well worth it.

i was thinking about joining because i usually spend 1000 a year there and any money saved is good. what specal offers do you get?

old phart
04-08-2003, 01:44 AM
6 times a year you get a "club mailing" which has several products at prices discounted over the regular Speedmart flyer. Also, you get a coupon sheet that always has a "free" item when you place an order. For example, I have gotten free 500cc fuel bottles; Tire Renue; Glo-bee plug charger; tool kits; screw kits; 6 cell batteries. If you order many times a year, those freebies really add up. And the free postage (now $7.95) adds up too. You can use the free item coupon over and over again with each order you place. Joining the club literally ends up being free and then you save more and get more for free on top of it. You just can't go wrong. I must sound like a salesman for Tower, LOL. But I am totally sold on their club! :D

hey old phart i just placed an order for those tires from Patrick, They should be here no later than monday or tuesday. I'll be sure to post up some pictures and such.. $38 bucks was a little steep for two tires but oh well thats how it goes.

I have a question about gearing on these things, Currently i'm running whatever stock is, I was thinking about going up or down a few teeth on the pinion gear since i have a bunch just laying around, i was wondering what size would be best for a 9 turn double motor? i plan on putting a Trinity Speed Gems 2 motor in this weekend to replace the speed gems 2 14 turn motor.... any help would be great.

also how long before crazy nut racing starts producing parts? i saw they finally got their new site up and running but are only offering T-maxx heat sinks right now.....

old phart
04-10-2003, 03:34 PM
I think with the motorcycle, the same rules for gearing cars will probably apply. In that case, you should gear down so that 9T can get the rpm it is designed for. The stock pinion is a 14 tooth, I would gear down to a 12. If it turns out you think the motor can handle tall gearing without overheating itself or your ESC than try gearing up later.

I believe CNR has the FM1 parts ready to go. Did you try e-mailing him? Also what URL for his website are you referring to? The website I visit has all the FM1 parts listed, with part numbers, ready to sell.

Yeah, $38 is expensive but when you are the only game in town it's the one you gotta play! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/icon16.gif

hey thanks for the link man, I was going to www.crazynutracing.com which only shows the heat sinks for the Tmaxx. I am kinda surprized at the price of the wheels on there but like you said, when you're the only one that makes them for the states you can pretty much name your price. I'll be dropping $175 on all those parts next week i suppose. Are they scheduled to make anything else for the bike?

I will have to go pick up a 12 tooth pinion gear if i can find one. I plan on putting the motor in this weekend when ever i get a chance, and rebuilding the current 14 turn motor because it seems to be stressin and not working to full potential. I'm not real familar with gearing whether it be car or bike.... What would be the optimal setup for say for the following

Novak Hammer Pro ESC (I know nothing about this esc)
Trinity Speed Gems 2 9 Turn Double motor

i plan on buying all the sprockets from crazy nut, along with whatever pinion gear i need (probably 10-13 teeth) so all i need to know is which would be best so i can get the best performance for the money, i would like a little punch at the bottom but a good top speed as well.. can it be done?

Sorry for such easy questions but i really just dont know about this stuff.

old phart
04-11-2003, 04:28 AM
Lemons, the gears on the bike are "32 Pitch" normally just referred to in catalogs as "32P". The E-Maxx uses 32P gears so you can just go to your local lhs and buy Traxxas pinions for an E-Maxx (or online) and they are available from I think 12 to 22 teeth.

However, since you will be buying all the sprockets from CNR that will give you so many gearing options you probably don't need to worry about changing pinions. I would still go with the 12 tooth and then just leave it and try different sprockets. Ultimately you may want to go back to the 14 tooth or higher pinion with a different motor but I don't see you needing anything more than a 12 tooth with that 9T motor. But I warn you, I'm just guessing too as my experience with the bike is extremely limited.

There is a very fine line between punch, or torque at the bottom end and then having mind blowing speed as well on the top end. You usually have to trade off one for the other.

Read a little blurb about your ESC here:

http://www.teamnovak.com/timeline/timeline_2/timeline_2new.html

Real Lemons
04-12-2003, 01:46 AM
I still dont know the limit of this esc. but i think i am going to leave in the 14 turn double motor for now, I figured out that the previous owner had the amps turned down to 20 on the esc and also had the controller set to below starting position for the throttle. I put the amps up to 60 and reset the throttle position and the motor sounds alot faster and revs alot higher so maybe that was the problem.

Anyway I just ordered a new Clear Body from Ehobbies.com I didnt see the clear one before but after i started on the main page and went through the little input search thingy i found it for $29.99 instead of the pre-painted one for $49.99 so of course i ordered it right away. So now i have the wheels and body on the way. next stop is crazy nut racing hehe.

I just talked with the guy from crazy nut as well, he said he is about to put more pictures up along with a complete carbon fiber chassis for the bike.. I'm sure the price tag will be high but more than likely it will be worth it.. Heck i will almost be able to build a second bike after all these upgrades...

I've been trying to think of a good body design for the clear body i have on the way, for some reason i cant get past the idea of a camo type body, in like either gray and white or a light blue and white or maybe a mix of the three. i cant find a picture of what i'm talking about so just take my word for it. Although i'll more than likely stick to one or two color plain jane paint scheme..

Hello everyone, I was just looking for some information on the Kyosho series of 1/8 bikes and came across this subject line. I just purchased a Suzuki RGV HOR Series bike. Anyway, about removing paint from bodies. I have had excellant results using automotive brake fluid. Simply coat the pieces with the brake fluid and let sit for a little bit, a little scrubbing and it should come off. Sometimes it does take multiple applications. Don't leave it on too long, brake fluid will eat the lexan if it is left on too long. But it is not as dangerous or caustic as paint removers. Follow up with a hand cleaner to remove the brake fluid, and give it a really good bath. Make sure you use the plain type of hand cleaner, NO abrasives like pumice, it will scratch it. Just my two cents worth.

damn it man, I wont get mine until Monday or so, At least that is what the tracking number says. I live in Alabama and since its coming from California i have a while to wait. Do you have access to a digital camera? can you get some pictures up of the body? I would like to see it. Also I'm really glad it comes with decals as i was worried about that.

old phart: Yes, I have had great luck with this. I came about this years ago over another problem with paint, and one day decided to try it on the lexan bodies. Patience and care must be observed though. Not so much for your own safety, but for the model. Brake fluid is harmful to the skin, but some common sense will get you past that part of it. I never just simply bathed the body in it, but rather just smeared the fluid all over it, and then kept a real close eye on it. When I would see some activity, I would rub the paint off, and add a bit more fluid where needed. Don't use any kind of tools to remove the paint unless necessary, this is where the scratching will occur. I used to use a good quality paper towel to rub it if I felt I needed to. Thickness of the paint will determine how long it takes, and of course, corners ad crevices are a bit more time consuming. I don't ever remember having a hazing effect happen to the lexan. Just make sure you are using clean fluid, don't even think about recycling it for future use. I am sure that there would be paint particles left that could scratch the lexan. Follow with a really good cleaning, any fluid left will definetly affect the new paint job. If you are unsure, go find a junk body from someone and strip it first. When I first got into the hobby, my budget was very limited. I always got bored with the paint scheme or color of my vehicles, and found myself stripping a body every time I turned around. Now as I am older and find that time is worth alot more then money, I just buy a new body, and add the paint scheme I want. Good luck.

yeah same here, I dont have an up todate Rc car, just two Tamiya TA02's. Ones stock other than ball bearings, i'm fixing to use it as a display piece since i hardly run it, I got a really nice Skyline body from Tamiya also that i have mounted right now. My other TA02 has basically every hop-up and GPM part that was ever made for the car. I bash hardcore with it since its mostly aluminum so i dont break anything.

Other than that all i have is this bike. I really enjoy running it behind the local mall since the parking lot is huge and i dont have to worry about curbs and such. I just enjoy messing with these cars and bikes. Breaking them down to just abunch of parts and putting it back together is the most fun to me. That and paint a body and having it turn out good.

Hey guys! Just got to run my TTR against another TTR today! :D It was too much fun. His bike is the prototype used by CNR for all the trick parts and it had it all: wheels; sprocket; CF frame; plus a Nuova Faor front disc caliper and a CNR rotor. He runs a Reedy Ti 9T double and the Novak BL was stiff competition. He had to change battery packs and my 3 year old Radio Shack 2200 NiMh never needed changing in about 30 minutes run time. Just shows the efficiency of the Novak system. He was so impressed with the Novak he was going to get one. I'll try to get him over to this board. The Crazy Nut Racing (CNR) parts look awesome! A definite must have!

I also got a look at a Kyosho 1/8 bike. That is too kool! The way the rider hangs off is so realistic you just gotta see it.

Supposedly the Kyosho bikes are out of production but Kyosho still has them on their websites and in magazine ads so I have no idea what is going on. But no retailers in the states carry them it seems. Too bad........

Sounds like fun old phart. make sure you ask him where he got the nuova faor caliper stuff from because that would be very nice. I have the rotor, both wheels, and graphite chassis pieces on the way, should be here mid week. That will only leave me without the sprockets which i'll get at a later date.

Have you started painting your body yet? I dont have a clue as to what design i'm going to use, i'm not very skilled when it comes to hard designs so i'm more than likely going to stick to something basic like one or two colors.

Get that guy over to the board, i would like to know what else CRN has up their sleeves.

I believe he got the brake system from NF itself. He said he had to order some stuff from England.

I have not taken the body out of the bag yet. But I am getting ideas for paint schemes by looking in current sportbike magazines (hint-hint). ;)

As for CNR, he said there is more on the horizon. But I don't feel I am permitted to say. And I have invited him to this board. Hopefully he will come on in.

Thanks for the comments guys, I really appreciated. My wife really doesnt mind that i play in this hobby, but she thinks its silly.. So to get a good reaction out of her i always tell her that. Not that she minded in the first place hehe.

Blaneo : I am truely sorry about your son's death, you must be a very very strong person to have over come the heartache of loosing him in such a way. Amazing. My first cousin who is also the same age as me (21) just lost his second son that was two months old, they woke up to fridays ago to find him cold and blue. The funeral was absolutely horrible... I dont think i could handle it, I know my wife could not.

How many children do you now have? i had a little trouble understanding your post because you mentioned your sons death, then the possiblity of grandchildern in the near future... Either way, Trust me, Its alot easier being a grand father because you get to spoil them rotten and give them back to the parents.... my parents and my wifes are making my son rotten already hehe.

Old Phart: I dont have a ruler handy right now, i'll have to find one tomorrow morning, but i will find out for you, would you like Cm/Mm/ etc??? i'm not too handy with a ruler but i will take a picture as well to help out. The only thing i do know is I'm not that happy with the rotor, since i do not have the actual brakes, It will come off the hex, not a problem since as of right now its just for looks, but i will need to find someway to secure it since i would like to leave it on... and it did cost 20 bones for crying out loud hehe.

Anyway since we are talking about babies and all here is an easter picture of my little man, Also i got the body in today and will start masking tonight, Maybe paint within the next few days and have it done by the weekend. I'll post up what i come up with.

Your paint scheme will look awesome. You obviously have been around some masking tape and paint before! One question though: wouldn't a black final coat really darken the white paint?

Thanks man for the comment of the little lady and baby. I appreciated it. I just measure the hex and it came out to 1.6mm i think is how you say it, it was past 1mm then went on to the sixth little notch, i think it can be said as 1 5/8th millmeter or something, do you know what i'm talking about? its as big as the sixth line past 1 mm, not sure on how to read it hehe.

I am getting worried about the body colors as well... I am not sure how black will look backed on white, i might try and cover the white up and spray but i've always heard paint lightest to darkest, or maybe that was the other way around i dont know. I have finished the other body part today and made a slight change in the gas tank area, i made the line in the middle circle off and stop right before it slops down to the seat. I'll be sure to take alot of pictures when i get a chance. I plan on going and buying the paint tomorrow, might even start painting, but i doubt it, most likely tomorrow night i will start though after work.. I currently work the 4pm to 12:30am shift. Then like a retard i stay up until like 3 or 4 am and sleep til like 12 or later every day, when i should come home get a shower and go to bed, oh well... hehe

forgot to add, manipulating masking tape is really really hard! :) I have pretty much mastered it now though, between the tape and my trusty razor blade i cant be stopped :) haha

RL: thanks for the measurement. I think what you got is 16mm. That's a fairly large hex.

As for paint, you have it backwards. On Lexan you paint from the inside so dark colors go on first. :)

nice bike.

Real Lemons:
Great pictures there. Thanks for sharing your family with us. Your wife and you make a very attractive couple. And that son of yours, icing on the cake. Thanks for the kind words in reference to my son. He was nine when he and his grandfather were killed in a car accident. Would have been 21 yrs in a couple of weeks. I do have three other children, all girls, 12,17,18 years. Certainly am sorry to hear about your cousin's loss. It is a very tough thing to endure, but it does get a bit easier each day. Change of subject: I got my bike today. I havn't opened it yet, been waiting for the wife to go to bed. Perhaps I will shoot some pictures of it tommorow and post them for you to see. I havn't gotten the radio gear yet, maybe tommorow it will come. Talk with all later.

Oh well, i started painting today before i left for work, white first hehe, i always put on nice and thick coats so i doubt the black will do much to make it look any different, i know it didnt change the yellow on my skyline at all. So maybe i'll get lucky with the white and red.

I ended up getting the following pain

Pactra Outlaw Black
Pactra Bright Red
Pactra ultra White

They all seem to be pretty thick paint, esp compared to the fluresent colors and candy colors <~ which will change depending on the color you back them with... I think it will look good, and if not so what i'll bash it up hehe. Or do like i've done many times before just paint the outside a solid color hehe...

Thank you blaneo, for sharing a very difficult time in your life, and for the comments on my pictures. Also I wanted to say, I've always wanted a girl, I always thought my first would be a girl but i was blessed with my son, who the nurses actually registered as a girl cuz he is so cute haha. Everyone that sees him always says he is too cutie to be a boy... gonna be a super pimp later on (even though i know you dont want to here that with all girls hehe) anyway enough of my bragging

old phart nice bike :) also yeah i think its a 16 mm but i am not really sure, i can find out for sure tomorrow though, i'll take the wheel to work, where all my tools are, and check with an actual socket to be 100% sure.

I drove the Auldey today. It is actually pretty exciting. It runs well. It has all the manual and instructions in Chinese so I couldn't read a thing about it but it has a very interesting feature. There is some sort of flywheel inside the rear wheel. It spins up as the rear wheel spins, but goes faster and also will freewheel. What it seems to do is build up inertia. I tried launching the bike from a 'cold' start and it takes off just fine but then I tried 'spooling up' the flywheel inside the rear wheel first, and man it took off at double-time! It has side skids that do a very effective job of keeping the bike off its bodywork. Good thing as it is all hard plastic and will look terrible if it gets road rash. I have a 20' concrete pad in my backyard and was able to drive it around that a bit but it's really to large and fast for it. Overall I'm impressed with it. Especially for a toy class r/c.

RL: looking forward to your custom paint job.

blaneo: waiting till the wife goes to bed before opening your kit? Uh oh........... :p

Well i've made alot of progress with the body, although if i had to do it again there are a few things i'd change, slightly different design etc. but oh well, i think it has turned out pretty good, i had a few curves that didnt come out straight, a few over sprays, but over all a good job i think. I still have alot of sanding to do on the body itself along with adding some pinstriping to help aid in the covering of the incorrect curves, once i'm finished i know i'll be happy with it, just a matter of time hehe. anyway on to the pictures.

Also just wanted to say old phart, im not sure if you had to cut out your first body, I didnt because i got it used. If you didnt then prepare yourself for the hardiest body you have ever had to cut.. My fingers hurt so bad haha... and I think my scissors hate me.

I was running my FM1 in a large parking lot and of course I ran into a light standard concrete base at a high rate of speed. Sudden stoppage........ I broke the steering servo arm; bent the steering rod; broke the steering head. The rider is velcro'd to the seat under his butt. He was tossed off and his legs were flayling. He only has wanging on by one hand....... The fairing managed to be pushed about 3/4" back at impact and transfered paint onto the aluminum steering head support. The pins inside the Sermos connectors got pulled apart by the force and one of the wires from the ESC got the insulation cut through by a chassis plate. This is with the battery double zip tied in place. A pretty violent hit. It's repairable of course. Just hated to do it. It was after about 30 minutes of clean running, and then on the last couple laps I was going to do, wham. Doh! :(

Here is pretty much the position of the rider as I found the wreckage:

Ouch!!!! i've only had one bad wreck with mine so far, I rammed a curve ripping one wire to the battery out of the connector. Glad to see its fixable though. I just wish i had time to run mine, been working all day today and have to cut the grass (or should i say Hay, craps so high its dying now hehe). Also thanks for the comments on the body, its really growing on me and looks alot better in person. Black didnt hurt any of the colors thankfully.

On another note, I have been looking for my wife a car now for going on two months, could find the one I wanted with the color i wanted within 200 miles of my town. Well after work thursday (actually friday since i get off at 12:30am ) I was searching over at autotrader.com and typed in all the info and the cars came up. To my surprize the one i wanted, exact color and all, came up first and was only 7 miles from me.... I was like sweet!!! Well i click on the ad and check it out, and out of all the places it could have been, it was at my dads work and my favority autodealership, Troy's honda. I get done at 3:30am and get into the bed, wake up at 7am sharp. Haul butt to the shop and told my dad to give me the keys to #88 :) took it to let my wife approve and of course she fell in love instantly as this car is amazing. So we bought it friday, and now on to the good stuff.

2001 Lexus IS 300
White with 11k miles
Tan leather with Suede
Automatic with Tip-o-tronic shifting on the steering wheel
17 inch alloy wheels with dunlop performance tires
Hid headlights (nice)
35% tint all the way around (would have been the first thing i did)

on to the pictures hehe

I got to work on the bikes body again today, I added the front fender piece and went to the hobby shop and got some panel trim stuff that pactra makes, its the same stuff the stickers are made out of and really does a good job. once again here are some pictures of the just about complete body, all that is left now is to add the rear light (if i even do it) and i still need to finish trimming and sanding down some of the rougher areas, the front wheel well is going to give you a run for your money Old Phart.. good luck hehe

Before anything done, just checking where i should put the antenna and moving around some wires. good showing of the graphite though

If i had to do over again the only thing i'd change is the white and black on the under part of the body, i should have made the black rap around like the red and white (on the sides) but i wanted it to flow on to the seat area.. Still looks good but would have looked better in my opinion had i done it the other way. anyway hope you all enjoy the pictures, it was tough, and not quite as nice as i had hoped but i like it

Sorry to hear about your bike. Downtime really puts a hamper on things, don't it? We had a beautiful sunny weekend here and I didn't get to do anything fun.

Real Lemons:
Lookin' good there man! And your new car looks like it would be a dream to drive. But man does your yard need some work!

I started on my bike yesterday at work. I didn't get very far though. Step four started the radio installation, and seeing how I don't have the radio equipment yet, I just put a stop to it. I did find a couple of other things I could do out of sequence and I got those completed. This bike is all molded plastic. it appears to be more of a sport bike then a racing bike. But it will still be fun. I have decided to put it together and get it going, and then decide if I want to tear it back apart and add more hopups and give it a decent paint job. For now it will be stock, except for bearings and a little hotter motor.

also old phart have you started your body yet? i'm thinking about getting another one and doing and exact replica of a Hayabusa body, this time using liquid masking and taking a little longer to make sure its exact. Also be sure to post pictures of the new bike when you finish up. later Josh

As for the TTR body I have done nothing. I am experimenting with Liquid Masking Film on a piece of scrap lexan. When I get it down I will use the LM to mask off the new TTR body and paint it. Also going to try using an old Binks airbrush I have.

Thanks for the comments, I will pass them along. High School was okay for me, but I was glad to get out of there. There was to much political crap going on there at the time. After being out for 24yrs., I still get to see most the people I hung around with on a daily basis, so that is cool. My daughter is looking forward to getting out and moving on to college. She has it all planned out (so she thinks,LOL). She is a pretty sharp person, and has her head on straight, I will give her that. She is one of those kids that every parent dreams of. Our other two girls are that way also. I guess Mom and me didn't screw everything up.

I have been thinking about a metallic blue or purple for the base paint for my bike. Offset with some black trim. I think with some chrome paint on the wheels and elsewhere, it should look sharp. But I am still thinking.

hacker motors are crazy dont do it because its gonna be over 300 about 150 + 200(good esc)...stick w/ a novak it does the trick gives you all the run time prolly 30-40 mph and look at what that did to old pharts bike. hackers are nice in emaxxes leave them there

tperkins
05-24-2003, 11:17 AM
30-40 mph isnt fast enough for me. Plus, I dont want to do what everyone else is doing, I want to make something extreme that eveyone else tells me wont work. Thats my style. And I will be sure to steer clear of any obstructions in the parking lot.

old phart
05-24-2003, 11:47 AM
Stock gearing, with the Novak BL = 44 mph.

Yeah, I thought I could steer clear of obstructions in the parking lot, too! Let's see how you do when a couple cars come rolling in and you don't want to get run over, heh. ;)

As for everyone doing it, I only know of 2 people worldwide (that post on various message boards) who have the Novak system in a bike. Not exactly everybody, LOL!

But anyway, I think you should get the Hacker. Puts more data out there about what will work, and what won't. Save up your allowance! ;)

Sorry, I wasnt trying to be all high and mighty about the parking lot stuff. Its hard, espesially when the concrete parking blocks are the same color as the asphalt. I havent had the time or the area to run my bike or any of my rc's lately. I normally run the bike behind the mall which is less than a mile away. But for two weeks there was a carnival there, and for the last week there has been a huge car sale going on over there, right where i normally drive. So i've just been tinkering alittle and mostly playing on the PC. I just upgraded my Video card from the original Nvidia TNT2 32mb card to the ATi Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb card. its absolutely amazing, i cant believe what i was missing out on in some games such as Counter-Strike and Battlefield 1942. But other than that just checking up on the Crazy Nut Racing site daily waiting for the right amount of parts to show up and just hanging out. So though i will run my bike...

Hey Tom, Could you explain to me how you did your steering with the springs or what not, what did you use etc? I am still using the fuel tubing and its not really working well.. thanks in advance

Yeah, sure. I used something similar to a nitro engine throttle servo saver setup. But I used a dual spring system.

Here is an exploded view of the parts:
http://www.fototime.com/8CA42C8F4B9BB13/standard.jpg

The small diameter spring fits inside the large diameter spring. The aluminum cone spacers allow the smaller spring to fit inside, in effect making them shorter. As the larger spring compresses, it then pushes up against the smaller spring. So it is a dual spring, dual rate steering system.

Here it is assembled:

Here it is on the bike:

Thank you Tom, I am assuming i can find all of this stuff at the local Hobby shop correct? Also just a general question, i've noticed on a few other Thunder Tiger bikes (including yours) that most of the chassis and wheel pieces are a golden color... My chassis panels are all regular gray metal colored and my wheels came in black instead of gold.... Why are they different? older or newer model or what? here are a few pictures of my bike when it was stock to show what i mean

See my front fork shocks are gray, along with the rear and all the rest

It seems all the later versions have the gold alodined parts. If I had your version, I would polish all the aluminum parts. :)

Yes, for a runner. But for a show, or shelf queen the polished aluminum looks great! :D

LOL, I guess it does at that. But it is still going to get painted.

I had mine out running Saturday. I had to do a bit of work on it first though, but it ran great after that. Actually better then before.

Did you get your Kyosho bike put together yet? I have a modification I made on the steering that greatly improved it. I need to make a copy of the plans and show what I did, then I will post it here.

Here is the modification I made to the steering on my bike. This is in step #6. I added 2- 3mm flat washers onto the screw after the plastic bushing and before sticking it through the frame piece and attaching the locknut. This spaced the arm away from the frame, and allowed it to move freely. Before it was binding up a bit and making the servo work hard. The steering was really tight and not very responsive before, but now it is responding the way it should and it is still a tight setup (no wobble). Hope this helped ya.

Just picked up my first of two FM-1e's. Now I have a few questions. Where is the best place to find parts? I also noticed that one of the frame plates is a little bent. Is this normal? It looks like the bike has never been used and there are no impact marks on the bodywork, yet one of the plates looks a little warped. It would be easy enough for me to straighten again. I just do not want to straighten it if it is supposed to be a little bent.

Can you buy unpainted bodies for the bikes anywhere?

Thanks.

Congrats on your purchase Dragnet here is all the info you requested:

As far as the bent frame plate, i dont think it is supposed to be that way, i mean mine are not bent.

The only place to buy parts for these bikes that i know of (other than stock parts) is www.Crazynutracing.com they have a lot of parts including all graphite plates, wheels, tires, brakes. And they are adding new stuff daily.

You can get clear bodies through Ehobbies.com as far as I know they are the only people that have them, They also have the prepainted bodies as well just cost more. Either body will come with masking for the front window hood thing, headlights and all new stickers. the link for the clear body is here : http://search.ehobbies.com/?cat=Radio+Control&subcat=All&mfg=TTR&price=by+price&text=FM-1e&int=1&ext=1&x=5&y=7

the third on the list is the clear body, the second is the painted body.

I myself have painted one of the clear bodies and it came out pretty good here is a picture of it.

Hey thanks for the reply! Your paint looks sweet!

I was pretty sure the frame plate should not be bent, but I thought I would ask. Like I say it is a simple fix of taking the plate off and bending it straight between some plywood or something. The bend is on the lower part of the plate below the motor access hole. It seems pretty thin here and I am wondering if this will bend again due to use? SHould I just pick up the carbon plates from crazy nut racing?

I have owned motorcycles for years and just got back into RC. I saw this thing on ebay and thought "I just have to give this a try!".

How do these things handle? Can they corner pretty hard or do they always tip over?

Thanks.

hey dragnet, wanted to tell you crazy nut racing just started carrying the clear bodies now also so they are a complete one stop shop now. They have everything haha.

The bikes run pretty good, It does take a lot of practice to get a good run going, at least it did for me. Best bet is to find the smoothest surface you can find to run on, make sure you have plenty of run, aka open parking lot. once you get the hang of it you'll be able to turn and manuever in tighter spots but it helps to have lots of room in the beginning, heck i'm still learning myself i've had the bike for about 4 or 5 months but only had time to run it like 4 times since i cant run it infront of my house like my cars.

The bike will tip over on its side but only if you make it lean too far, I sugguest using the side bars to help correct this, they will keep you up more because they brace the bike and give you something to judge by, but it will still fall over, just part of the learning process.

Some upgrades that you really need are the GRP Racing Tires that you can get on crazy nuts website, they are a must have with these bikes as the stock tires, in the front anyways, are really hard to use most of the time, also try driving without the rider makes it a little easier, at least for me.

anyway good luck with the bike and enjoy, just be patience and have fun. you'll be riding like a champ soon enough. haha later

The bike came with the good set of tires I just have to mount them. I have a Novak brushless set-up in one of my cars that I may throw into the bike and see what it can do. The only thing I do not like about the bike yet is the steering linkage. I just do not have faith in a little fuel line to hold together. I may try some of the mods I have seen above. Anyway it will be my first run later today, lets hope it is a good one!

Later.

okay cool, did you buy the one that was on ebay that also came with the GRP tires and some other Crazy nut upgrades? Also i'd really recommend doing the steering upgrade that Old Phart talks about above, i myself am going to do that as soon as i get a chance, been too busy to even mess with it lately... Once again congrats and dont get too upset with your first run, hell i couldnt even get it to go in a straight line without crashing hehe.... Thats when i learned i need to run it in a large open parking lot.... Anyway post up how it went....

Dragnet
06-21-2003, 07:56 PM
Yep that's the one I bought. It is somewhat marked up from tipping over but who cares because I am sure I will probably destroy a set of body work just getting used to it! The frame plate turns out not to be bent at all. I took it apart and it is perfectly straight. It doesn't bend until you put the C clip on the swingarm pivot, which bends the frame a little.

The second one I picked up for $140 but with no electrics etc. I may put the brushless in this one!

That brake kit and CNC rear swing arm looks pretty cool on the crazy nut site.

So do you figure with enough practice and setup these things can start to corner pretty hard? Or is it always going to be more for wide open tracks with sweepers?

Dragnet

Had my first run tonight. I see what you mean about big parking lots and lots of space! The thing looks awesome under power. I just wish it could steer a little more precisely and quicker. What is the best way to make the steering more accurate and less vague?

i have a ttr in transit to me as we speak... so I have some quick questions. I think the bike looks better without the antenna tube, does it effect radio range to just tie it down or keep it under the body? Also, are the stock steering and tries TOO bad to use? With the steering, i can just get a linkage kit and redo it... but tires, i dont want to make ANOTHER order *sigh* :( anyway, any advice given would be nice, thanks guys

Dragnet: I've seen some video's that were posted in this post, about a page or two back, that show people cornering pretty quickly and tight, I myself can not do any tight cornering and it usually takes me a big area to make a loop back, but once again i've only ran my bike about 4 times for no more than 10 minutes a piece. Just havent had the time.
The steering will probably be fixed if you do the mod Old Phart mentioned, hopefully he will post on here and tell you how much better it is, i can say from the looks of it i bet its 100x's better than the fuel tube that tends to wear out and tear. Also i was looking on crazy nuts site and they have a steering shock type thing that i believe will help alot with getting feedback from the road, it might even help with general steering. I'll let you know whenever i get it how it is. Although i think old phart might already have it.

SXN: As far as the radio antenna goes, I have tried using it without and my bike kept cutting out of signal range pretty quickly and without much distance, but then again, even with the antenna mounted with the stick, i still couldnt go far so i think it is the remote i'm using, best thing to do is just test it out your self, i have put in my JR Racing Xr2 remote and reciever instead of the lowend Hitec reciever it came with but havent had time to test it out. But knowing most RC's having the antenna on the out side and up in the air will most likely get you more distance, its whether or not you need that extra distance that should really be the deciding factor, because with it hidden you might be able to go as far as you want, or you my not be able to.

About the tires, there is nothing wrong with them other than the front tire is shaped like a V with high sloping sides, you'll see what we mean, They work fine and everything but can also cause the bikes front wheel to slip out from under the bike when turning on a not so level surface. Its definitely something you would want to upgrade but not something that is an absolute must, esp from the beginning, heck up til like three weeks ago there was only one place to get the tires from and the guy didnt even advertise.... i had stock tires for about two months before going on to these new tires.. Also the new tires have more of a realistic look to them with actual tread and they look like regular tires, good grip also.

Also the stock steering is fine, it does have a lot of play but when the bike is up and going that doesnt matter, the only true problem with it is the fuel line wears out quick and tends to rip, setting up a spring loaded steering is the best way to go.

Real Lemons

Also Dragnet just like you said dont worry about previous owner scratches, You'll be putting plenty of your own on there haha, The first time i actually got my bike to run i ran it dead into a curve :) also i have pretty much destroyed the factory body on the sides since i lost both of those metal side guards, which by the way you can make out of some clothing hangers.... One thing to watch out for, always make sure you have your pinion gear on tight, that is the only problem i have ran into with my bike, i've lost three so far.

Also about the brushless setup, Old phart has one in his bike i believe, or knows someone that does, it really works good from what he has told us.

Dragnet

I watched some of those vids you were mentioning and I was really impressed. That is what made me bite the bullet and buy one of these things. Those guys must have a ton of practice to be able to handle these things like they do. I found the steering to be very slow. You almost have to turn the transmitter wheel a second before you want the bike to turn. I think it is the side effect of too much play in the fuel line steering set-up. I will try oldphart's setup and see what happens. My other tires should correct the sudden turn in problems the stock V shaped front exibits. On the positive side the two guys I was out running my cars with last night both want a FM-1e now. So we may even be able to get a small motorcycle class going at the local track (If we could actually get good enough to steer around it that is)

Hey Dragnet, welcome to the fold! :D

Yep, I was the 1st to put in the Novak brushless system and it definitely makes it a fast bike. Another guy, Ronnie saw mine and was blown away by it so he got a brushless too. He is working with Crazy Nut to develop the FM1 parts and I am told with the lightweight parts and the brushless motor it pulls wheelies now.

The most important thing to driving it I found is having a smooth surface. When cornering the bike is leaned over and the skids make contact with the ground. You will actually drag them all the way through a turn or curve. That's OK. But, if the ground is rough, as I found out in a parking lot, the skids hit the 'cracks' and that launches the bike into a violent wobble or outright tumble.

You can corner it fairly tight, but don't forget it is a big bike, 1/5 scale so it won't be as tight as a smaller scale Tyco type bike. But to corner tight, you must be going relatively slow speed. That's where practice helps. It will come to you, just keep at it.

My spring loaded steering works well but it makes the steering super sensitive so you might want to dial in either some dual rate or exponential in your Tx. Also, dial your brakes down really low, like maybe 25% or less. Mine is set at 15%. That gives good controllable braking without locking up the rear tire. Once the rear locks, it's going down.

The bike is pretty tough. I slammed mine at full gallop into a concrete light base. Did some damage (look at old posts here) but not too bad considering. A few small bits and it was back into action.

I have a box full of CNR stuff to install and when I get some time I will get it all pretty and take some new pics. :)

Dragnet
06-22-2003, 07:42 PM
Do you guys find it easier to control with a stick Tx or a wheel Tx? I am thinking of going stick for the bike.

Old Phart,

I see the Nuova uses something similar to what you have created for steering linkage. Is there any particular type of spring I should be looking for to recreate your set-up? Are two springs necessary each side or could you just run one?

Any idea if the front brake kit would help in the braking dept.? Every time I hit the brakes the thing tipped over.

Last but not least any good links to movies of these things? I have seen a few and I can't really believe these guys can have so much controll! Hopefully one day I can drive as well!

Thanks for the help.

There are 4 more good videos of IC bikes around tracks here:
http://www.nitrobike.co.uk/

If you want to turn tighter corners adjust the rake. Turn the screw in all the way then test. Adjust as necessary. I am running with it about flush.
If you come to almost a complete stop then turn, the bike will turn very sharp, gas it and straighten it out. The pavement must be full of grip to do this. I still can't get around the local parking lot RC track because there is so much sealer on it making it very slippery. It's a bit easier without the 200lb rubber rider on (lexan Nuova rider on my bike soon) but still tough.
I'll be here: TimeZone (http://www.timezoneracing.com/) on July 26th for the second time, if any of you north west racers feel like showing up!! I'll wipe the track with ya!!. (That's smack talk to get you to show up.:D ).
See you there. I'll take some video and post it.

Hey thanks for the links, those vids are awesome. Is there any reason the FM-1e can not handle just as well as the Nuova nitro's? I would imagine the Fm-1e is lighter with a lower center of gravity so it should handle even better.

nuova steering is much much better, it does depend on what setup the driver is using as well. What steering servo, what linkage. Aparently the stock TTR is not a very good one so.. there u go

I got my bike last week, but then i got busy, then the forum broke... so here i go. The stock steering IS horrible :p i hadnt even gotten it outside yet, and the front wheel bumped something and the fuel tube ripped... i could see this system wasnt going to cut it. I went and got a spring type servo saver (ironic name because during the first day i blew up a servo) I used a trinity 17 turn to get used to the steering and driving, which is an on-going process, and i have a 13 turn double waiting for when im better. With the final drive ratio of 13:1, and the redline on the 13turn being around 42,000 rpm, it should be able to do more than 40mph. The way the bike steers is pretty tricky. You need to kinda let it fall into the turn, and let go of the remote... allowing
