hi
I am almost done building my first plane, a Tower Trainer 40. I just have a few questions. 1) How can I ensure that there are no leaks in my fuel tank, 2) how can I fill the tank if I don't have one of those crank type ones? I don't want to take the tank off every time I want to fill it. Is there any other way?
I appreciate any help :)

Simple stuff... :)
To check your tank and plumbing for leaks you just hook up the hoses to the tank before mounting it in the plane, put it in a bucket of water and blow in the hoses - pretty hard. If there's a leak it will show up as bubbles.
To fill the tank I use a squeezable PVC bottle with a tip, large enough to put a piece of fuel tube inside. In the other end of the tube there's a small piece (approx. 20 mm long) of brass tube. I then take the fuel line off the tank side of the filter, connects the brass tube to the fuel line that goes to the tank and just squeeze. Vacuum wil build up in the bottle, so disconnect the brass tube after each squeeze and let air into the bottle. When fuel starts to come out the muffler presure line the tank is full. Works like a charm. :)
- It's also possible to drain the tank this way.
You could also use a third line from the tank, and plug this when not fueling.
Hopefully this answers your questions. If not, or you have other questions, feel free to ask. There's only stupid answers, no stupid questions. :)
