I have read several forums on what a newcomer should buy but never heard anyone mention the Toytronics T-Hawk. This plane appears to be good and it is 3 channel, has a spare wing, a spare prop, and an extra battery pack. For the plane, radio and the above mentioned extras it seems to be a good buy and easy plane to learn on. I have no affiliation with Toytronics just doing a lot of browsing.

***never heard anyone mention the Toytronics T-Hawk. This plane appears to be good and it is 3 channel***

Never heard anyone talking about it, cause if you look at the specs. it's not your hobbist airplane. Our planes are not just toys, but they are our investments.

hehehehe:) There are better one's, walmart got goods one's that flys, but then again, ask yourself. "Do I really wanna learn how to fly? Or crash and burn cash" Airplanes, that comes in a package, that I have personally flewn and love flying it, until I got bored, but taught me the science behind flying, and responsible for getting this far in the hobby, is the FIREBIRD XL.

Not that's a good airplane and combo, that can't be beat:)

I don't see any difference between the Firebird XL and the T-Hawk specs other than you control the T-Hawk with rudder and elevators.

dave: the firebird xl and the t-hawk are basically the same plane although the t-hawk being a 3 channel having rudder elavator and an on-off switch for the throttle. to tell you quite frankly, you can'tgo wrong with the two. you wouldn't be burning cash with the t-hawk because like the firebird its surely gonna fly. (btw is a lot tougher and cheaper than the friebird too)

as with the spare wings and prop... well these are the items i use on my firebird xl. the t-hawk wing cuts through the wind better and is definitely tougher than the xl wing... (cheaper too!!! about $5 from where i come from compared to that of the $15 main wing of the firebird) i use the t-hawk prop too. eventually when my fuselage gets worn out... i'd also be replacing it with the t-hawks. yes its been done here in manila and it flies exactly like the stock xl does.

right now i have 2 firebird xl's. one is setup stock and the other setup with the t-hawk main wing and prop. i'm no plane guru (just stared a month ago) but for some reason the firebird with t-hawk setup flies hellof a lot better than the stock xl.

i can post some pics if you're interested.

the only thing that turns me off with the T-hawk RTF is that the elevator controls are on the left rather than being on the right along with the rudder control. i figure that once you jump up to a more advanced radio... its gonna be a whole new ballgame again.

Thank you very much for that information; most helpful. I figure that the T-Hawk is not as popular because at least here in the USA it is only sold through Toytonix web site whereas the Firebird is sold in stores.
Thanks again.
