where can i get a good 6-10 cell pack for a Graupner Speed 400 and a speed 600. also does anyone know the duration of the motor with the suggested battery pack.
is it possible to solder alkalines together with connectors and add a plug to use it in a boat as the main power source?
thanks in advance

Checkout the Hobby Lobby International website-they sell the Graupner motors and boats, so they should have packs to fit.
I'd avoid soldering the alkalines-Radio Shack carries an assortment of plastic battery holders that might let you just solder the connector to it instead of the alkalines.

with basic soldering skills and some patience you could make it yourself. you would need 6 to 10 good cells ni cad or maybe the new ni-mh from panasonic but no alkaline!!
battery bars
and wire
you solder the cells together quickly too; heat kills batteries trust me and you solder them - side to - side and + to + in a sort of loop  if you do this right you will have a custom made pack to fit your boat and better basic soldering skills;)
