I want to hear any stories about your coolest, wierdest,or funniest crash stories you guys experienced. Ill start with mine.
My story really isnt any of the above. I was flying my GWS cub around got bored and decided to do a lazy loop. I have done them many times before. I was about at 150 feet and dived for speed for the loop. I was now a about 100 feet. Pulled back on the stick. Crack, my left outer panal of the wing had snaped off. I watched the plane slowly spiral downward from a hundred feet. Then after the plane made a thud, the little piece of outer wing came floating down. i ran toward the crash sight to relize there was not damage down to the plane excapt the wing. I never flown it since then because I was too lazy to fix it. Anyway I dont care about it because the plane was getting boring. Now I have my Zero.:D

Well doesnt look as if people has ever crashed any planes.;) I know I use to crash all the time. Since there isn't much action on this forum I will once again tell another story of my mishaps of flying. Well mainly stupidity and excitment.
This story is about a GWS Zero. The Zero had its batt charged and gear in and was ready to fly. Except it was almost night. So I tossed my model into the sky and off it zoomed away. I came in for a lang because I got uncomfortable flying it. Landed it and my right landing gear wire fell off. Ran to my basement to get my scredriver and fix it. After it was fixed I got excited and longed for the flight of the Zero again. It was almost dark but stupidity overcame smarts. I threw it and it flew. I kept it up for awhile then decided to land because of it being dark. On my set up for landing the plane had vanished. I could hear it but not see it. I was messin with the sticks to keep it flying. Then thud. There I seen the Zero laying there motionless. Come to my surprise, only the prop snaped and the motot moutn broke off.
Well I can say I learned my lesson.
Hope to hear some stories. Im getting bored of typing my stories. :) Im sure you guys are too.

Heres another boring story from me and my mistakes. I was flying my Pico stick on a windy day to show a friend my new plane. I flew it into the wind and it just hovered there. So now I couldnt land it. I shut off the throttle and the plane was blown backwards into a tree. It was stuck up there. I had to climb the tree and ge the plane. The only thing wrong was a broken rudder.
Please post some stories. I know almost all of you have crashed a plane in your life.

Okay, I'll bite. I have some crashes but they are not cool or really good story tellers.

I was flying with my boys and we had a Tiger and Pico Stick in the air at the same time. Just lazily doing circles with each other. My youngest muttered that he had performed a loop, but I did not really digest what he said and kept flying. Next thing I remember was hearing the snap of wood and in the corner of my eye his pico was falling straight down, twirling, both wings touching each other.

He had dived and tried to do another loop (not recommended with a pico stick). The sticks had snapped on one wing. Easy to repair, but for some reason we laughed all the way home. He had not flown but a few times and was already bored with circles.

OK guys....here is my crash story. I have to pick one out of many so my wife says! I had and E-flite Electrajet which I loved! I flew that plane for at least four months without one misshap. The one thing about this plane that I never liked was no rudders to give some yaw when I turn or come in for a landing. So being eager to do something stupid I had to try it. I mounted the servo between the fins, cut the fins and hinged them and hooked up the linkage. It looked great! I showed it off at the hobby shop and my buddy told me that it would not work and it would bank when I used them. I could not be wrong in my mind.
I took it to a local park. It was slightly windy which was stupidity part two. I got the plane up in the air and it was very unstable. When I used the rudder, it banked just like my buddy said it would. No yaw at all. It was heading towards me, being cocky, I turned the plane and looked around for landing area, looked up again and lost sight of the jet! I lost it! Then I hear the screaming speed 400 and SMASH! A foot away from me on my right! Now I feel stupid and sick to my stomach. Kids are teasing me and grown ups are laughing. I sweep up my styrofoam pile and toss the pcs into a bag. I get to my Jeep put the brand new JR 661 transmitter on the hard top and throw the bag of styrofoam on the passenger seat and walked over to the trash can and actually got sick. After puking, an old man asked me if I was OK. Embarrassed, I rushed to my Jeep and took off. As I am going down the road, I heard this scraping on the roof and looked in the mirror and watched my brand new radio hit the road going 40 mph. That was my worst day of flying ever! Got a new jet and the radio was serviced so everything is back to normal. Just need to slow down a little!

Thats a great story. Well not that you had an unlucky day but you know what I mean. Also I want an electra jet but never got one. How does it fly. Is it worth it. Last thing how much does it cost.

The Electrajet is a real blast to fly! Barrel rolls, loops, inverted flight, and slow fly by's are all great to do. One thing I would suggest is that you increase throttle into a turn, drop to half throttle on the staights. Open field flying is the best for me. On a calm day, flying by wooded areas are OK but if it is breezy, the down draft comming over the trees tends to knock it around a bit.
The stall rate is amazing! I love to make a slow flyby with the nose high and it purrs slowly by. On the other hand, Inverted close to ground going wide open is a treat also!
MPI has 1,100 mah packs that kick but! I use Hitec 555 reciever with two HS 55 servos. $130.00 is the price for the Electrajet and it comes with the plane, hardware, speed contoler, V-tail mixer, motor, gearbox and prop. How can you go wrong ...besides what I did in the previous thread?!!! Get one...you will not be disappointed. Oh....MPI also has a cobalt motor with adjustable timing. I have that installed and it is awesome! One thing I had to do was to sand down the extra lift lip on the trailing edge of the alerons and the body. The extra speed makes it want to climb WAY too much and going inverted.......ever gone into a inverted stall and almost lose it in the inverted dive? That was almost crash story part 2!!!! So if you hop it up...remember to sand down the trailing edges. Leave it stock....no problem, fly the heck out of it! I have a short clip in AVI form of me flying the plane when it was completely stock, if you want I will send it to you. E-mail me if you want it.
