OK, today I was running my old nitro boat in the local pond, and somebody must have told on me because a "wildlife" enforcement officer appeared and said that I cannot run my "gas" boat on this pond. He pointed to a half broken sign, "No motorized vehicles allowed!"

I was like, "This is not a gas boat, it's an ALCOHOL boat." I told him that glo fuel is a non-petroleum fuel, and he was saying that it must be leaving an oil film on the water. "YEAH, CASTOR OIL!!" He didn't like comeback that very much and said that if it has a combustion engine, it's not allowed.

I packed it up, and restrained myself from backing my dodge dually up over the hood of his little squad car.

This stinks, because I didn't think I was bothering anyone, and I prefer nitro to electric.

Anyone else have the problem where nitro is not welcomed at the lake? What should I do?

Most of the problems revolve around the noise while people are running their jet-skis, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, etc. while we get into trouble. Try to find another place to run that is hassle free. Our local DNR told us that we had to get a Regatta permit to run ours at one area lake because we set up some buoys. Ask your local Conservation Office or Parks Department if they know of a place that you can run with no hassles.

Maybe I could try an experiment with my old boat.

Route the exhaust underwater, and insulate the interior to reduce noise.!!! j/k

We have the same problem here. We have to be in the local club (in which I brought an old one back from the dead) carry NAMBA insurance, and can only run the fourth Sunday of the month. I feel for you. It really sucks! Especially when you live in a windy area and you get blown out like we always do. I feel for you!

try a bigger muffler and find a different place to drive it.

that has to suck. i have an idea though park the boat near the shore and attach fishing line to it so when the guy comes just shut off the engine and start pulling it in the water:D :D :D

they dont have a fence around it so they must not want you in there to bad :D if they really wanted to keep you out of there they would of put at least a 20 foot high fence and barbed wire
i figure if they want to keep me out they have to make it at least invincibale to bolt cutters;) ;)

my two cents
