Tamiya Quick Drive

I recently got a cheap one of these from a guy, and was wondering if there is much I can do to it to make it faster? I was planning on getting some better tires, but I am afraid that might be the only thing I can do for it. Is it even worth my time?

there is an optional black motor for these QDs. I saw one a while back in ebay but was selling too expensive for me to consider. Another thing that you can do is to buy bearings...that's the easiest and the cheapest. You need 6 5x11mm bearings. 2 on each front wheels and one on each corner of the gearbox. Another option is to buy Radio Shack's 1600 mah Nickel Metal Hydride battery....that will stretch your running time for sure!!
