Hey guys,
I've had my xt for a year now. I started racing a month ago. I've entered 2 races so far and have done pretty good so far. I don't have any trouble keeping up with the high end buggies. Last week I qualified 4 for the A-main. On saturday I plan to race again. We'll see how it goes.

it isn't as "pickup and go"-ish, but has way more top end on it.
Thanks!

Corey

I find this to be true too. The 24/7 doesnt have the kick I thought it was going to have. My Torq21 does just as well down low I feel say 0 to 10-15 feet. Im quite happy with the mid to top-end though.
What can I do to get better take-off? What clutch shoes and springs can be used? Like are there stiffer clutch springs I can get to allow the RPM to rise before the shoes grap.

Hi guys,

I have an Xterminator Pro buggy with the 24.7 Pro motor. So far its ran great. The motor was real easy at breakin and after breakin it started without any problems consistently. I've used it mainly for bashing around the house so I haven't tried racing it yet. I've been told that it handles quite well. Anyways the car is right now on my work table getting a mod to its radio tray. I'm converting ti to laydown servos for both throttle and steering. Not sure it this helps handling at all but it looks cool with the body off. I'll post pics when I have it done.

From what I have read on people who do the mod on the Ultra LX PRO from vertical to horizontal steering servo the results are the same with no improvements at all.

But thats for the Ultra, it could be different with your buggy.

I got an Ultra LX and was looking to buy an X-Terminator Deluxe or a OFNA Ravager...

Is there a "truggy" conversion for the x-terminator. I love my x-terminator to death but a set of big tires would be cool every once in a while. Thanks

Ive had the x-terminater for a half a year now and i was just wondering what hop ups there are worth putting on this buggy. i do a lot of backyard bashing but have never jumped anything bigger than my garage which was the sweetest thing ive ever done. i am yet to break anything but the clutch and that happened on the street. im always looking to go faster and plan on going to a larger cooling head just to be safe. its got the 24.7 an this thing can haul and take some abuse and i love doing backflips.

Well today changes things i hit the lip on my driveway doin about 25 and game back to earth only to smack into my trucks back wheel that chassies brace popped off and so i bent my front drivesaft pretty good but i straitned it back out and i was on the road again i have been having trouble getting this thing to idle down though it just dies when i get to a stand still and whenever i hit the brake. i tried going back to factory settings and even turned the idle up all the way. im thinking i could have a bad glow plug. if any one has any suggestions much appreciated. im running 30% nitro and im wondering what is the best plug to use. i even pulled the head and inspected the piston and sleeve. its almost perfect which i expected since its only had about a half gallon through it. i thought my dragging clutch was the problem but its not considering i just replaced it. i saw they came out with a 2 speed trans but the teeth are plastic and i can only guess those gears are junk any one know where to get metal gears for the speed. if not it cant be worth buying. Any imput appreciated also looking for larger cooling head. thinking of just using one for a mammoth same engine. but will it cool any better?

Does anyone know their tuning specs for the high and low speed mixtures i think this would help me to figure out if i have bad fuel or a fouling glow plug because i just cant get this thing to idle?

How much does it smoke?
How long will it run off the ground if you pinch the fuel line?
Less than 3 seconds it's too lean. more than 10 seconds too rich,
this is on the low speed needle.
If you take the air filter off, and the slide is open more than 1mm at idle, your probably too rich if it won't stay running.
yes by all means step up to the larger cooling head, and the one from the mammoth will work.
On mine with 30% I use a MC9 plug..

ok tried this not the problem im gonna buy new fuel mines been in the garage all winter and probally reason for no idle but it runs fine as long as i dont hit the brake and i have the idle set as high as it goes so im thinking the fuel is not as good as it should be. ill also spring for the mc9 plug and another question i have 2 spacers between the block and head one thinner than the other this is how they come stock and im running 30% nitro should i get another thinner spacer or is this already setup for 30% i cant afford to blow this thing up and as of now i inspected the sleeve and piston still perfect but does warm up pretty fast into the danger zone and this happens with any kind of performance tuning

I really want to get an aluminum gear case (differential case) everything ive found seems to be on backorder and im not even sure its the right part any help is wanted and one more thing im thinking of going to a new motor and was wondering how a force .21 would be i have good experiance w/ this engine but i might just get a new piston/sleeve and back plate which is leaking. for what those would cost im probly better off buying a whole engine new and im also thinking of the new ofna force 32 but am not sure if it would fit without modification. any other ideas?

get a better pipe like a JP1, upgrade the shock towers to 5mm machined (like the Deluxe/Pro), get the aluminum 5mm chassis braces(like the deluxe/pro), get a new body, give it a bath, and get some new tires and wheels.

hey guys, hopefully there are still some people on here that pay any attention to the x-t thread. I picked up an xtm 457 today for my x-terminator today, since it was $130 with the hobby people 4th of july sale. This is replacing an xtm 24.7 pro engine, so I need to compensate in the gearing. Normally I would try out the stock gearing and see how I like it, but a friend has cautioned against doing that for break in, because it would be undergeared and damage the engine. He suggested going up 2 teeth on the clutchbell, from 12t/17t to 14t/19t (its got the 2 speed). Does this sound good? Is going to 15t/20t okay? I would like to buy just one set of pinions for both break-in and normal use, to cut costs a little. All opinions are appreciated.
