Or maby I should just call this the second time around. Way back oh so long ago (late 80's early 90's) I was club and district racing under IMPBA sanctions. I raced O/B Tunnels, 20 stock- Hot Shot sprint (wood)with K&B power(all there was at time) and a 40 modified, again K&B powered. Questins: Would the stock 20 still be some what competitive with the K&B or will I need to replace with a newer O/B? Next : to just run the modified 40 tunnel for sport, read not in compitition, hull is too old and out dated to compete. I raced it with 50% nitro, can a motor thats been modified to the max be run with 10% or 15% nitro? How many prop sizes will I have to drop down if I can get the needle set with a low grade nitro fuel? It's been a LONG time?

The Hotshot Sprint may still be competitive. In most races that I've seen, the main thing still is to be able to finish. There are somes mods that you can do to the engine (carb swap, tuned pipe and a Keeley Turbo head) that could help give the old engine new life.
As oyu nay remember, the K&B's love high nitro (40-60%) but can be run with a lower amount. The needle is easier to set with the low nitro. If you feel the need, go with a smaller prop but you shouldn't need anything under an X445 but an X447 or X448 would be good.

Well my old 40 O/B tunnel (Seaducer Hull/ Mod. 40 K&B) hit the water this weekend for the first time in almost 10 years? How did it go you ask? Well not to good realy. I started out way to rich. Took a few laps brought her in ,leaned it down and tried again. This went on about five times and just when I think I am gaining on it I loose raido? That ends the frirst day of running. After all these years of not running it was like the first time all over again, I was nervous. Why did I loose the signial? The only thing that did not surive 10 years of storage ,the on/off switch shorted out on me? Man that was fun , I gota do this more often. Oh yea Ron Thanks for the prop sugestions but all I have is the Prather props as that was what I raced (some what successful) with years ago.:D

The motor should be able to turn a 235, if not go down to a 230.
