I just picked up a new Traxxas Nitro Vee, want to know what mods can I make to it?
Do they make after market parts for this boat? if so what are they.
This is my first boat so I need all the help I can get.
Thanks

Hey,
In searching for nitro boats on Ebay, I have come across many chrome dual exhaust pipes for the nitro-vee. I would check Ebay for most of that stuff.
Hope that is helpful!

Once you have it dialed in you could remove the Return-To-Shore system to lose some weight. Also, remove the electric starter and use a pull starter. A header from a Traxxas truck can be put on with a tuned pipe (MAC makes a good one). Try some different props! Hope that this helps.

Want some really good advice? Aside from all the comments you've already received, use your Nitro V for what it was intended, a starter boat. Vibration, Glo fuel, Heat, and ABS plastic doesn't mix very well. If you do want more performance from it, start shedding weight(return to shore and elec start systems, etc), higher nitro fuels help increase speed but also empty your wallet faster, the more nitro you use the more you have to OPEN the needle valve which drains the tank faster. After you get tired of that Nitro V, find yourself a nice .20-.60 size setup, preferably Fiberglas, that someone else already got the bugs out of. If you want something big and easy look into the gasoline powered boats, this is all according to WHERE you run your boats, the bigger and/or faster the boat, the more room you need to run it. Try e-bay and also write back to more than one ad to ask for details. This way you can weed out the B.S. and find out who knows and who don't( don't buy someone elses junk). Don't be afraid to ask questions, usually the ones who know will answer in detail. GOOD LUCK.:)

Check this site for some good basic tips for better performance:
- swap exhausts ( get a nice tuned one for a .15)
- Swap props ( that site will show you difference between the stock and a X440)
- enlarge water pickup ( that site will show ya that, too)
with the right setup, this boat will run at least 25-30 mph.. which is plenty fast for the starter boat that it is.
once you outgrow that.. go get a boat from someone like aeromarine laminates, they sell good nitro and gas boats of all shapes and sizes. their site is www.aeromarinerc.com
