I've gotten some good info from other posts regarding fluid weights, etc. Any other tips as far as cleaning the original grease out, replacing o-rings, levels to fill with the silicone?

Additionally, are there any websites that offer general help. I seem to recall stumbling onto one that I got some info to rebuild my shocks but have since lost the bookmark.

Thanks in advance.

Errr, sounds like you're asking for shock rebuilding help, not diff rebuilding as your topic says :)

I'm a bad communicator. I'm rebuilding my diffs. Shocks are already done with the help of the long lost website. I think I got everything right with the diffs as they are in pieces in my garage. There were 3 o-rings and grease in the diffs. Was planning on replacing grease with silicone.

you mean silicon greas?? cause silicon is like glue( or am i wrong??) i have filled my diffs with silicon-teflon greas, used in electronics, and sealed diffs with silicon used in cars

I believe he is refering to silicon diff lube. commonly used in 1/8th scale car's. With viscosity between 1000-10,000 wt.

You instruction manual will have diff. rebuilding directions. Best bet is to follow those.

The diff. lube wt. you choose is your choice. common set up is 3000 front 5000 rear and 7000-10,000 middle. depending on track conditions.

Look in your manual, sometimes it is the best help. :)

Is it a ball diff or a gear diff?

Gear.
