Howdy Gang,
I'm new to the nitro world and was gifted my first gas-powered RC car today. It's a Storm Buggy RtR with the 3 channel RC Controller. I am having some engine issues with it stalling out and not being able to idle for awhile. I was wondering 2 things.

1 - Anyone out there that has this car - got any good break in techniques ?

2 - I am looking for detalied info on the engine - like where the High-Speed and Low-Speed needles are. There's no schematic in the manual that I can find and I want to mess with these to see if that helps my stall problem.

Any general information or sites on this car would also be of a great help. Thanks and hope to be racing some of you real soon.

Well the high speen needle is that long needle that sticks up out of the Carb.

The low speed needle is the needle that is on the side of the Carb.

and the Idle needle is the needle that (normally) has that spring on it, it is located on the side of the carb.

For a .21 engine you will need atleast one quort of fuel to start off with. I read somewhere that you are suppose to breakin a engine at a crertin tempture. I don't know what it tis but you should look into that.

uh-oh.. :(

Dude.. you've been running your nice new engine without even setting the needles or breaking it in yet? That's the worst thing you can possibly do to a nitro engine!!! :(

The needles are on the carburettor - it's the thing that's infront of the heatsink, above the shaft, where the fuel line attaches to. The needles are the screws.

Have a look at these articles from RCCA and RCN and you might be still ok, if you havn't ruined your engine yet (I hope not). Unfortunately I can't seem to find the article on how to break-in an engine correctly... anyone else able to find it? Or has it been removed for some reason?

I hate to say this on this forum, but you might want to pick up the August issue of Xtreme RC Cars as they have an article on breaking in a nitro engine (I must say, go with the RCCA/RCN article if you can find it online though.. but both articles are very similar).
