Hey everybody I was thinking about getting a new esc and I was wondering if you have to have a forward only esc to race? And What kind of esc is race legal.

An ESC doesn't need to be foward only, but it needs to have an option to lock out reverse. Take the LRP F1 series for example. They all have reverse, but you can lock it out and make it foward only for racing

ok great what about the novak super rooster or rooster do they have the lock out option?
SuperRooster does, the Rooster i think does, im not sure. Check the specs at www.teamnovak.com

Last year I did race the whole season with a reversing ESC with no lockout, they didn't care as long as I didn't use it in a race otherwise I would be deducted a lap from my score, I never did use it. :)

I bash too but i am not sure if I truly need an esc with reverse when i am bashing
