I'm new to the R/C hobby, I bought an RC10GT RTR a few months ago and I love it. I've been looking to see if anyone has come up with tricks for R/C vehicles. I've been talking with one of the local skate parks and they are interested in hosting an R/C night at the park!
If anyone else is into big air, tricks and trick parks please respond to this thread and share your experiences. Right now I'm in the process of building a 1/4 pipe I can either stand alone or lean up against a wall to try some tricks with my truck. I keep a small forum on my website as bookmarks to cool pictures and videos primarily for my own enjoyment, feel free to browse what I've found: http://www.xnitro.com (http://xnitro.com/phorum/index.php?f=0)
Here's a picture of my truck so if you ever see me or my truck out there feel free to say hello! Those rear tires are stock, they're slicks now and I've upgraded them to "Step Pin" tires for better off-road traction!

Racer88622: That's sweet! :D Do you think it's the shape of your ramp that causes the flip or are you braking before the edge of the ramp? Post some pictures of your flip sometime! I think that enough people move from back-yard bashing to trick driving we would eventually see a small segment in the XGames devoted to RC!
As soon as I've got a few ramps built I'm planning on having a buddy video tape some footage so I can post the videos online. I'll try and reply to this thread once I do that.

ya my flip was kinda kool but when it hit the ramp i lost sight of it when it was upside down so it was kinda wierd watching it
and how i did it was as soon as i went off the jump i slammed it into reverse
and since an object in motion wants to stay in motion the sudden swiching of the tires direction causes it to flip
you can see this if you ballence your car on your arm and hit the gas
result:car falls off and many broken parts

Anybody got some video footage of their tricks? Check out XXXMain's video footage of a 76' jump with no crash! Now this is some big air!

Thanks for the props on the paintjob, surfer, the flag was my idea, but my sister has the skillz, she's a real pro with an airbrush!
I'd like to see some video footage of the tricks you guys have mastered, from what I can tell it's easy to flip the T-MAXX and E-MAXX's I'm going to attempt the flip on my RC10GT and hopefully it'll land in one piece! I've wrecked it so many times already I should just open up a parts store!

I've done a 720 spin, with a barrel roll using my T3 :D I was driving in an empty lot using a 2ft wooden ramp, there is very little traction here so I hit the jump doing a top speed power slide. Fun resulted!
I also did about 10 front flip after coming off the side walk into a pot hole in the same empty lot, I got about 6 feet in the air, the truck slammed the ground flipped even more. Then I drove away unscathed (except the body O' course!:p)
BTW-nice body on the GT! It looks like a dark chrome ghost flame or something like that:cool:

The only trick I know how to do is a powerslide with my buggy.
I took my buggy to the local skate part and Believe me you ae going to have loads of fun.
I got like 5-10 feet of air and landed wheels down twice. the second time I knocked parts loose and broke a screw. Skate parks and R/C's make a great combo.
If you are going to drive on-road get street treads all around. My buggy is 4WD (and 1/8 scale) and I have no traction problms with my on-road tires.
Sweet paint job, how was it done?
Do you use the stret tires for off road?
Do you use the Off road tires for streets?

It hadn't occured to me to powerslide right before hitting a ramp, that would probably look pretty sweet, with the right timing it might be duplicatable!
I can't wait to get out on the skate park, it's being built right now so I have to wait until they are done. Was the skate park you went to public or private? I wish I knew of a public place in Houston I could go mess around.
About the tires:
I haven't taken the front (road) tires off in a while, I switch out only the rear tires because the fronts have suitable handling off-road. I don't like to use the off-road tires in the front because when I drive the truck I usually go both on-road and off-road. If I'm purely on-road I put on-road tires all around.
I'll ask my sister to post some info with tips on painting here.

This is Xnitro's sister, the artist who painted the body on his car.
If you'd like more information on how you can get your own custom airbrush style on your car professionally painted by yours truely, please feel free to contact me at mdmcarlo@hotmail.com.
The name of his body's style is Midnight American Flag. I can do just about any flag (i.e. American, British, Confederate... ) in a 3-Dimentional Brite Flag style, or Midnight Flag style, or even a flat 2-Dimentional style. You can ask for more ripples, less ripples, etc. I can do flames, water drops, waves, Sculls and crosses.. just about anything your mind can imagine. So, if you'd like your own custom paint job, prices starting at $20, not including shipping, let me know!
