how long is the rc dragstrip tracks???? a few hundred feet or what?

Offical 1/10th scale dragway is 132 feet.

Don't forget the shut down area

A 1/10 scale quarter mile is 132 feet. You need another 75 to 100 feet minimum for shutdown, as the cars can hit close to 80 mph, and they need a lot of room to get stopped.
At Rialto, CA, we ran 165 feet, as it we had several different scales running all on the same day. 165 feet is a 1/8 scale quarter-mile, and it is also a quarter-scale 1/8 mile track. The 1/10 cars got to run an extra 30 feet or so, and their top speeds were really FASSSST!!
So although the IEDA-legal track length is 132 feet, 165 feet was perfect for doing a lot of different scales of drag cars.:)
