I remember that truck from the ****.net message board. Why doesn't that work anymore?

whyochi
02-09-2003, 05:01 PM
Yup it used to be RcJims old truck-****.net went to ezboard gold staus a few mounths ago so you will have to get approved by one of there admins(you'll have to make your E-mail public and a few other things that are detailed on the home page in your profile to be approved) then you'll be able to post-

Yeah, I remember RC Jim complained for like 100 posts about how Hotrodical did him wrong with that paintjob.

Looks OK to me............

Here is a pic of mine:

I can't say I'm pitching a tent over it myself. It's technically very good but I wouldn't have paid a ton for it. How do you pay a guy for a paint job and end up with something you don't like? I'd be nit-picking that thing to death.

whyochi
02-11-2003, 05:46 PM
Ya for what Jim payed for it (wich might I add was ALOT) he should have got better (dose have some nice fayds and effeacts that you can't se in the pic thow;)) but it's just fine if you ask me-old phart that's a nice jero are those 2wd front buggy tires?

SteveK
02-11-2003, 06:59 PM
Yeah, those are Pro-Line Dirst Hawgs. I have rears from another project, and they fit as well: They are just a little wider. Mine need either a little trimming or a slight body lift, but they will fit OK.

Been gone for a while, anything new happening with these trucks?
Doesn't look like I missed much.
I need a new rear axle housing before I can post action pics, but this is what it looks like when cleaned up.

Looks like I messed up, should be a pic here somewhere...

how wide and what is the wheel base of these trucks - I have always wanted one and never got round to buying one. I have tyhe chnace of getting one but the front axil where it bolts on the the chassis is messed the (chassis not arm). Also the body is in need of replaceing and I am wondering what I can fit on which is why asked the wheel base and width

thanks

SteveK
03-20-2003, 01:18 PM
The width is about 180mm, typical of a touring car. The wheelbase stock is a bit under 10", but you can lengthen it fairly easily.

With minor tweaks to the wheelbase, you can fit just about any truck body from Parma or Bolink, and many of the Tamiya bodies as well.

OrcSlayer
03-24-2003, 08:45 PM
The stock wheelbase is 9.5" according to Tower. The chassis already has holes to lengthen the wheelbase as it came this way with the CR-V body.

whyochi
03-24-2003, 09:14 PM
Yup you can use those mounts along with an ESP drive extension for the juggernaut to leanthen your wheel base-but you'll be sacrificing ground clearance........

Hey, I'm planning to buy either a Pajero or a Chevy S-10 baja. I just can't decide and was wondering which chassis was better for off roading? Thaks to any oppinions.

Jimmy33
06-25-2003, 04:49 PM
I believe the pajaro but I am not sure! :D

For high speed the S10 is better as it has a lower center of gravity (it is based on a rally chassis)

Rally Dude evo2
06-26-2003, 01:32 PM
Thanks! that's exactly what I needed. Since I want speed rather than rock climbing ability I will get the Chevy, but I will paint it a more interesting color design and I will put in functional head/ tail lights.

As I can block the differential of my pajero xb, that piece I must buy
and where? Thanks

SteveK
09-15-2003, 08:03 PM
You need the 'G' gear parts bag: It has a set of these little inserts that going into the rear diff to lock it, and I assume you could use them in the front too.

If you mean locking your diffs, you can find them on ebay for real cheap on. Heres a link to one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1200&item=3187126763&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW And i alos got a pictures just to show you what it looks like. If you want you can be cheap like me and just put something in the diff to lock it up. Hope this helps.

Update on being cheap; dont be cheap. Just buy the $10 to $15 g-parts bag. I had three little screws in my diff. They eventully gave in and didnt work anymore. Now iam trying some putty stuff that drys to steel or something. But just buy the G-parts bag, Less of a Hassale

Hi ALL ;) Well this is my one, some rear as mr_pushrod, Duratrax 3'' in the front, 4'' in the rear. jce heatsink with fan, Apex esc, Twin fans to keep the esc cool and DO! Have noticed no loss in run times as all fans work of the battery, In fact on average I am getting around two minutes longer  Not sure if this is due to the batterys running in! Two new 3300ni-mh same time as I got the truck. I have four fans setup in a fame that keep the battery cool when on charge also. (power from the charger) But here are some pics! :D

Where can I find the best price(web site) on a XC chassis, any body style. I found a few but still looking, new or used. Yes I have tried Ebay.

A complete chassis? Or just a bear one?

A complete kit, with or with out the electronics. The best price I found was $188 plus shipping.

Man you guys have some crazy trucks! How well are the electronics waterproofed?

mr_pushrod

Nothing wrong with a bit of water! My Pajero is in this vid getting very wet:D

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mark.thebus/d...igallery310.mpg (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mark.thebus/docs/heligallery310.mpg)

I have a waterproof Mtroniks ESC but the rest of the stuff is normal. I have been running the Tamiya badged Futaba servo and reciever that came with the car through water with no trouble as yet. Now fitted with a different high torque servo though so that could die on the next run, lol.

Only things that protested were the front bearings, as they aren't stainless.

In that pic, the water is up and over the motor, and hitting the fan. The fan even kept running.

Man you guys have some crazy trucks! How well are the electronics waterproofed?

They're not waterproofed to the extent where I can drive my truck underwater, but they're fairly protected from the elements. I should seal my servos and electronics box with silicone sealant.

By the way - To those of you who haven't or don't check the other XC/Pajero thread, I have moved my 4-link How-to to the updated forums on my website.

You can now find it here: http://www.teammayhem.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=184

guys, just a quick question. i have a pajero xb and i want to buy a "plastic" tamiya jeep wrangler body from ebay. will it fit? (without changing the stock wheel base) and do i need extra parts if ever to make it fit?

thank you.

Zillon
03-01-2005, 09:29 PM
You will need the front body mount to make it fit correctly. There is a part that bolts onto the chassis, and another that bolts to the body, right inside the front fascia.

I had to buy the same parts for my Mu, and they weren't too easy to find.

thanks zillion, i think i know the part you were talking. but how about the wheelbase? are they the same? thanks again.
