I just broke a clutch spring today, which altogether wouldn't have been a hugh problem if i had known it was my last one, my truck has destroyed 3 of them with only about 8 tanks. I don't run a stock clutch setup i run an integy aluminum 3-shoe and a 19-tooth vented bell on a 3.3 traxxas engine. Dose anyone have any idea what could be causing the springs to break apart?, could it be heat related?, and can i buy just a package of springs instead of the clutch shoes and spring which i don't need or use but have to give away.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me...

Ever wish your truck wouldn't get so messy from all that exuast? I know I have. But not anymore, because I came up with a very simple solution. I got a length of heat resistant hose, wide enough so it will fit over the stinger. I have this device that was left over from when my father gutted my house and re-built it when he got it 18 years ago. I found it in my unfinished basement. It's like a junkyard down there, which to me, is not a bad thing. It's used in plumbing. It has a length of metal strip with angled holes i it. The one end fits through the device that is atached to the other end, forming a ring. There is a screw that you turn, one way tightens the ring, the other loosens it. The screw turns and the threads fit into the angled holes in the strip, so as the screw turns, the strip moves. I used this device to hold the hose on. A zip tie might work, but it might slip off, as this is much wider. I then put the hose over the upper rear arm, and zip tied the hose to it. The hose clears the bumper by an inch, and I cut the rest off. It is so much better, there is a lot less maintenence. My father says that that device can be bought at a hardware store. This is a great mod, and an easy one too.

Are you can just go to your LHS and buy a silicone extension tube that is designed to fit the stinger for under a buck.

Are you sure you are putting them on correctly? I haven't heard of anyone being able to break the springs on a 3shoe before without some kind of setup issue being the root cause. How many springs are you breaking at a time, 1, 2 or all 3?

I only use one spring on the clutch at a time, they have all broken off at the point where you attatch the two ends of the spring together to make the loop that you put around the shoes, i might be the cause by putting them on wrong but i only see one way that they can fit on. The one thing i have noticed is that whenever i take off the clutch bell to check on the spring i see that the point where the two ends of the spring connect is always at the point where two of the three clutch shoes meet. There are not any kind of aftermarket springs are there? I haven't ever heard of any.

I've not had the prob running the 3 shoe GA alum clutch. Are your shoes worn to the point that the CB is rubbing on the spring - does the spring stick up above the shoes?
Dad-to-a-Marine - FYI - this clutch still uses a single spring wrapped around all 3 shoes. Does not use individual springs for each shoe

With the soon to be released updated T-Maxx 3.3 coming in at $399.99, does anyone think that Traxxas will drop the price of the 2.5 T-Maxx?

I got all of the parts needed to put the sealed 3.3 diffs into my 2.5. If anyone has done this already, were there any problems, or do you have any tips? They would be appreciated. I will start soon, I am just waiting a little while to get some more run time in before winter.
As for cutting out a section of body to see how much fuel is left, did you cut like a long oval from the bottom up to see the tank, or did you just cut the whole section off? It probably would be good just to leave an elongated upside-down U shape unpainted (mask it) so that the body is as strong and gives as much protection as possible. If its the stock body, maybe cut out that shape instead and shoe-goo a clear piece of lexan 2-4x the size of the cutout behind the cutout. Probably would look professional too if it was done neatly. I have an Axial B-17 Betty body, which is relatively short, so I can see the last 1/8 of the tank underneath the body, and can see the whole side/rear from the wheel well, so I really haven't thought about this topic, this is just an idea I had now.

One of two things...
1. You can't drive
2. You don't have the funds to actually put quality parts on your kit...
