Hey after seeing some shows on street racing i wanted to build a 1/10 scale street racer!
i am not after quickest times or racing i am just after the cool factor and i know that Fwd dosn't give great traction
i want it to be Fwd but i dont know what car to use
i am thinking about getting a 4-tec and converting it to Fwd
also i will be powering it by a Hacker Brushless motor
so any help will be great! :D

Even a 4wd drive car with a BL is going to be awsome. I would suggest you get a TC3 if you wana have some fun. I mean after a while no traction is going to suck. You can also turn the TC3 into RWD or FWD if you wanted. The other thing is how bout a pan car. Those are insanely fast even with a mod motor. Your not going to have any traction if you gun it or even half thortle it. I had on bout 3-4 years ago with a stock motor and could do no stop donuts. Also you can smoke the tires if you hold the front of the car. Go threw alot of foams but my unlce gave me all hs old ones becuase he was sponsered. Man they were the good ol days. Show some pics if this project ever gets on it way. Good Luck too.

i origonally wanted to get a pancar buy my street is just a little to bumpy
i wanted the Fwd so it would be mostly like a street racer
and i wanted to see if it would smoke the tires wit Fwd:confused:  :D

some hacker motors will rip the sh$t out of your front transmission:D
I did make a FWD TC3 dragger last year. Did it the way RCCA ( I think) did it.
I had some old belted slicks layin around so I glued them up and made my own line lock. Pretty much 2 metal ends on a servo that rubbed and stopped the back 2 wheels. It could smoke the tires on ashfalt(sp?) or warm concrete:)
pretty cool

i have a B50 S8 it is really fast and has great torque
i know of another Hacker motor that has 3 times the torque that mine has! :D

Yea I would go with the TC3 idea. I think belted tires actually have belts in them like a real car to prevent them from ballooning. That means getting real big becuase of the power to the tires. I like the TC3 idea with the line lock. Make sure you use some used tires maybe some track guys would throw out. I know my LHS has a pin with used tires for 15 for a set of 4. Have fun and a video would be awsome.

thanx
and im not so new that i dont know what balloning is:D
ya i guess ill try the tc3 idea but i still want to use a 4-trc because i have another traxxas car that i could use parts from
i just dont know if the belts can hold up:confused:

ya today i saw some tires that said on them "steel belted tires"
i think i might try to add a line lock to my rustler cuz it is down and that might make 4 a fun project:confused: :D

well i couldnt figure out a way to mount it
so instead i made a wheelie bar
i made it out of 2 pencils 2 old skateboard bearings and 3 spacers that came with the bearings
if you want to know how to build it just ask:D

sounds like you wanna build a ricer?
if so i think a civic would be your best coice for body.
now if you wanna build a mini model of a true street racer
rx7,nsx,supra,300zx
then those would be all rear wheel drive
honda drivers tremple when they see a real japanese sports car pull up;)

lol good 1 :D
hey what do u mean by ricer ive only heard that once before?
ya i just think it would be cool to show ppl how a rc car could be by layin some tracks down:D

Sounds like my SpeedStik II: Project Mitchum I have brewing. With all that torque, You'll never get the traction you need. Its like putting 400+ hp in a stock Civic: you can do it, but you need some serious suspension upgrades and ridiculously big front tires. I plan on either running it in my XXX-S on 6-10 cells (I have a plan for a modded battery pak) or a Rc10TL3 chasis, which can fit 12 easy.

TTT
This may be a bit late, but I suggest the Tamiya FFO2. The motor's up front for more traction, and they're pretty cheap.
I've got an RS4 Rally, and the RCCA front drive conversion's pretty good.

I wanted to buy a Tamiya FF02 and add the following:
Long Span A-Arms for more stability
Swaybars
Tuned Dampers w/hard springs up front
TA03 Ball Diff for better traction( I was thinking of making one diff locked which means that both wheels get the power equally
Civic,Celica,&Rsx Bodies all custom painted
I was thinking of either a BL motor or maybe just a very low turn motor haven't decided yet
High grip slicks
and other hop-ups

ya sounds kool
but i just lookin 4 a part time drag racer and mostly just a speed run car  :D
I also thought of the Tamiya Mini Cooper with a BL. How cool would that be?!?!:D :D :D
Racer88622

ya i dont know how the coopers drive train would hold up and i almost shure that theres no aftermarket gears
i also need money for skateing so it cant cost a lot
Tamiya's are cheap. Ebay:D

yes true true but! what if the drive trian cant hld up ill b going through thase things like mad!
Yeah, my Blazing Star's drivetrain wasn't exactly bulletproof. That's why I think an RS4 is your best bet. There are only two gears, and the rest is belts. Make sure the belts are tight, and it's indestructable:D

Ya thanx 4 all the help Hey Soya your brushless E-Maxx goin? i saw the pic oh the snapped cvd:eek:
Fine, I guess. I sent the old controller in last week BC it was the wrong one. I'm trading for a Shulze 19/61. Power, here I come:D
I'm trying to locate some aluminum thick enough so I can make the chassis braces and maybe even the a-arms. I just ordered the Trinity hard springs BC it's getting a bit heavy. Just finished with the T-maxx chassis.
My Industrial Arts class has a powder-coater! I think I'll ask if I can powdercoat everything black:D

I think you are talking about the 18.61 and would have to advice you guys not to get it. I have one and it smoked on the second run. I was running a 12s motor(I assume you guys are using the more powerful 8s) and had it on 12 cells in my e-maxx. I think you guys should consider the lehner 1860 controller. A little more money, but it shouldn't fry like the schulze ones do. Here's there website.
http://www.bk-electronics.com/modellbau/en/
And there better website in german.

You can buy one at
http://www.maximizerproducts.com/index.html
Just e-mail or call them about it and they should have some.
That's not cool. Mine's in the mail as it is:rolleyes:
