ok.

my spitfires armature has just died so i am wondering what i should do about a motor for stock racing.

is the chrome rs and the spitfire exactly the same or is there some thing that is different?
and how does the core stock/peak hellfire compare to them?

thank you.

It propabully is illeagal to put a different motor armriture in a motor so i would suggest getting a new motor or looking on ebay. If anything is similar it would be the core for it was the replacment for teh chrome.

As far as I know, the Chrome and Spitfire are identical also are the Core/ Hellfire. Just a different name for the same motor distributed by the same company in different parts of the world. Similar to Futaba (here)/ MegaTech (there).

The Core/ Hellfire is the newer model, so I'm guessing it'll be more effiecient and have more power. I have heard that they pretty much rock. If I'm not mistaking, they're what was handed out at the ROAR stock nationals.

And yes, you can use a Core/ Hellfire arm in a Chrome/ Spitfire can.

I know you can fit the arm in but it is probabully not legal to do so. just my 2 cents

You're both correct(though if your local track doesn't follow the sanctioning bodies' rules too closely, they probably won't care if you mix & match arms & cans). Dave, I'd say if you've been happy with your Spitfire, then you should probably give a Hellfire a try, I've heard some positive feedback on them(though I still haven't tested or tried any myself)....:)

Hello I'm a new member but i do run quite often on my local track R&L Hobbies. I have an AE B3 and run the Core Stock motor and I would like to tell anyone IT RIPS. :)

Even though people at Orion/Peak would strongly disagree with what I'm about to type, I'm going to type it anyway...

The Core/Hellfire are copies of the MVP. If you look at the arms or the two motors, you'll be hard pressed to find any differences. The cans are very similar in design as well. They both like to run hot. I gear them the same and tune them the same... Both give great results.

what you are trying to say moo-shoe is that Team Orion, Peak Performace, and Associated are like Mercury and Ford with the Taurus/Sable, Explorer/Mountainer and so on? right?

Well, not exactly... Orion/Peak is not related to Reedy in any way. They just have their motors manufactured by the same company in Japan. From what I understand, the companies all have a 1 year exclusive deal when a new design is produced. After the year is up, the manufacturer can sell the design to whoever it wants, under whatever label it wants to use. So, since the MVP has been out for a while now, we're starting to get copy cat MVP's (Core/Hellfire).

I have heard that Orion/Peak is in the process of designing a totally new stock motor for the Chicago show. Not sure if it will be available at the time of the show though, since Reedy is having so many problems getting their new motor ready...

Actually orion/peak are Top based motors. Reedy is yokomo based. They are not copying.

I agree with that. I've ran an MVP and a core and I like the core a TON better. So I know there has to be a difference. I think the MVP is pretty close but it can't beat the core.

YOu can swap parts from the same base motors. The Chrome and Spitfire use the sanme TOP base so you can swap arms. Just like you can swap a P2K arm and a Fantom P2K arm - same base motor.

The Hellfire and Core use a different base motor so you can't swap between a Hellfire and Spitfire?chrom but you could swap a Core and Hellfire armature.

TOP based motors do rock!

Copying? Well you can say that but it is not be true. While similiar they are not identical. I guess you have to try one and when you like what you bought you won't care about similarities or differences, just that you are fast! You can say Trinity copied from Orion the surface mount capacitor sysytem as used in R/C motors, but does anyone really care?

Orion will have new motors on display at Chicago. While they look like an evolution they are more of a revolution. We really do meant it when WE say that R/C electric motors will "never be the same".

Rick could you mabee let out some more info on these motors? Let me guess, they will have the square shaped wire instead of the circular.
Thanks

That is a possibility - but not what I am talking about. You will see shortly. I can tell you modified will be called the Core V-2.
