CRC is now distributing the STS line of products. STS manufacturers tuned engines, pipes, assorted parts, and as well as gas on-road racing vehicles. I looked at www.teamcrc.com and saw the Pro 10 chassis. Looks like an Impulse with some improvements. The "Direct Hub-Carrier Mounted" Floating Rear Body Mount is something that I have wanted for my Reflex since I first had the car. There is also a line of option-parts for this car. It comes with some nice looking Aluminum Threaded-Shocks and a Centax Clutch as well.
Does anyone currently race this car? If so, is there anything you can tell us about it? Does it come with universal driveshafts? How does it compare and compete with the other cars on the market? How is the quality of the parts and materials?
It seems like a great deal, all for only $224.99. Here are some picrures of this car:

Not a bad looking car.Doesn't it look like it could use a brace between the front tray and the rear diff block? I would think there could be some flexing in the chassis at that point.?

:D Someone I know is going to bring in STS kits and parts to be distributed. probably in JB but might expand throughout Malaysia. That means access to some excellent choice for parts and engine from STS! I run an Impulse and its a serious drain on my pocketbook, so I'm always on the lookout for alternatives. I think its good for Serpent to have competition too...;) ;)

if want a more "race legal" ewngine, without 5ports,, tthen go for their handmoded rs12. its just as fast as the rs5.

Correction!
Sts is now in Malaysia. Kit can be obtained from 012-3133429 or tmcmp5@yahoo.co.uk
It is a fast car with Rs5 engine. Try it.
Enquiries are welcome.

We tested the STS on a big track. It was better than I expected. The 2 speed opened at the same area it was supposed to. Oh!we tested the car with STS RS 5 engine. the parts might not be as accurate as serpent but I managed to put it together and got it running. The parts are tough. All of it.
We ran the car with the basic set-up, everything was at zero degree. After a few runs, we change the set-up to the one used by serpent. We ran even better time. STS engine provided the power we needed with much more umph!
STS will definitely give the likes of serpent, mugen and kyosho.
I will run the STS with a few more set-up and will post whatever findings.

No problem on chassis flex b"cos STS decided to use 4mm 7075 alu. for the chassis. Yes,STS did very well at the recent world championship.

the 4mm chassis is optional
im talkin about the std 3 mm
thanks

I'm not sure about the chassis over at your place but over here in Malaysia we asked for the 4mm chassis included. Definitely if the kit comes with the 3mm chassis, slight flex will occur. That is why the 4mm chassis is optional.

anyone know how much the optional carbon fiber radio plate is for this car?
and also...do they offer chassis braces (for both sides), or would a hand-fit one be necessary
and how much extra is the 4mm chassis?
thanks

and as for the sts engines
as youve said, they're fast
BUT are they reliable, easy to tune, and do they hold up against the long-term effects of rigorous racing?
thanks

At the moment, we are using the 4mm chassis as an option to minimize the flex. I don't think they are coming out with any brace.
They might want to in future, I'm not sure.
As for the sts engine,it is easy to tune because they adopt the novarossi tech in to the sts engine. The material used for the engine is consider very tough thus making it worth the price you are paying. I'm still using the same engine, and it still gives the same power I need.It is all a matter of how u use and maintain an engine. I have seen new (branded) engine snap after a few runs. wHAT CAN YOU SAY?
Ask your local dealer about the 4mm chassis and if you can't any,
let me know , I would be glad to help you.
