That other thread is getting pritty long so i start again.
Im getting mine tomorrow and i have a few questions.
First what is the best tires to run for Grass only use?
Is Model Technics Duraglo 16% fule ok to use?
What torque servoes? I only have 3 or 4kg ones right now but can upgrade to better if its needed? from the looks of things the front wheels dont touch the ground much so turning them should not be much of a problem? (could always add an extra cell to make it 6v pack)
Any thing else i should know? I have drill and hex rod as i have EK4-S2 truck. What else should i get or do?

Well Steve you can attach this, I am not able to post this...:(
Hey guy's I just got my XTR 3E today for my birthday! :D I am going to paint the body black w/ flames! Shagrind I will send you pics along w/ details (so you can put it on ur site) Hey Guys I have figured out how to attach the bumper for the Project LOW H! also known as Low Ridin Hummer! Who makes 2.2 foam tires? If no one does then who makes 2.2 Racing slicks ?
The project is, if you have not already read this to put a Hummer Urban body (Black with Flames) on the 3E, put a RPM (maxx)bumper on 3E (chrome), Rollbar w/ lights on Hummer(steeling from my Jugg Body, never assembled the body so why not use it) Making custom Wheelie Bar out of aluminum and an airplane wheel, putting light set on front bumper, need to make own light socket and everything:( oh well it's worth it, Put lights in front, along w/ directionals and high beems, lights along bottom on the side below doors, tail lights, brake lights, new spoiler and mount, possibly a parachute, still debating weather I want it, and if I do if i'll make it really work and fully functional (pop out by servo), it would be cool but I dont race. Any mods to be done in the future would be possibly a super nova rossi .21 or a O.S. .21, not sure on which yet. Which 1 do u think? Also what for pipes? I would make my own A Arms and would look into making a turning arms and other fun stuff! I'm gonna try to make this stuff Black, Yellow and Red, to match the body and everything else. What else should I look into making and reinforcing?
Thanx!:D

Got mine up and runnig yesterday. Put a few tanks through it before opening it up. and need a bigger area to test it now (todays mission). Seems to wheelie pretty easily, even from a rolling start (say 5- 10mph) if you slam the throttle open.
Mine is still set a little rich, will be gradually be leaning it out...its a flyer.

I aswell have the 3 E I have had it for a while now..... check out the forum for the XTR.21 desert storm! It has alot of great tips for you!!! I am waiting on aluminum rear arms at the moment.... I broke mine jumping.... just for your info its a horrible jumper and for a first upgrade go for the arms! They are very weak, especially the rear arms

Hi Guys
Just got my xtr...love it to bits. But keep finding the fuel hose split at the tank end. its right next to the exhaust (touching), I can't see an easy way to separate them a little. anyone else experience this. it makes a right old mess.
Will venom tyres make much difference to the grip?

Stuart- I have not had any difficulty with the fuel tubing splitting... either try to get a heat protection tubing for it, or get a different fuel tank. Some people use T-Maxx Tanks, they drill holes in the chassis....
It does wheelie easily and yes 60MPH I thought it would go up to around mid 70's hmmmm I never clocked it though....
They also reccommend drilling a hole in the chassis for the rubber exhaust tube to go out through the bottom of the chassis so the right tire does not get all slippery.. I am still experienceing a donut motion when I accelerate hard though... th car wants to go to the right I believe....
I also have to put a CVEC pipe on there which is what everyone is suggesting. For a new cooling head use one off of the big 6.
For tires Panther Tire makes a Racing Slick that will fit 2.2 truck rims so it will fit the 3E, and I believe Imex makes some slicks and other nice tires too! For their sites email me at dives@nycap.rr.com
If you have any more questions go ahead I'll try my best to answer them.

is the t-maxx tank bigger too? as run times are a little short hehehe. I have put zip ties in the fueal pipes...will keep you posted.
The thing really does wheely...got sparks off the wheely bar last night. I have moved the bats to infront of the front shock bulkhead. this has calmed it right down. will move it back and forth as the mood takes me hehehe. it'll help with the drag race i am gonna have with a bloke at work...he will be riding a yamaha trx 850 lol...gonna get him uip to 40 i reckon. need some slicks to really waste him.
Does any one fitted adjustable turn buckles to adjust front tow and camber at each end. do they make a bige differrence to the handling?
Can anyone reckomend a better servo saver...the one fitted is really weak...no point me getting a higher torque servo until thats sorted.

Got to change that cheesey wheelie bar though. I'll put the one off my t-maxx (ballistic one) on there:) . Real wheelie bar (with wheels). How far can yor guys wheelie? For servos I am running a Hitec Digital High Speed for steering with a Kimborough servo saver.... I have the CVEC Pipe, and I am using Team Losi (Blue) Dirt Spec Tires! They are really nice!
For added cooling cut the grill out in the front of the body, and ofcoarse the holes in the Windows.
Imex and Panther both make slicks that will fit.
I had a problem with my 3E there is a spring on the inside of the clutch and it has to be removed... This fixed it! I am unsure if that is your problem, but my car wouldnt engage in first gear. The engine started, and I had no problems there, just it wouldnt move

What are the speed gears? How much faster does it really go??
StuartWB
07-19-2003, 04:14 AM
I don't believe it does 70 out of the box. The pinion I have ordered is larger. The standard is U2491G 15-19-23T Pinion Bell. The one I have ordered is U2553G 21-25-29T Pinion Bell. The fusion has an slightly bigger one again.
You can see that first gear will be higher than the original second. it might not fit, I am not sure if its intended for the xtr and not the fusion. The gearing may be too high. But i will keep you posted hehehe :D

My bro has an XTR which he has upgraded to 3 speed. beforehand he had issues with the car not running right - basically from a standard start the engine sounds ok but as soon as you nail it the engine sounds laboured, and doesnt scream like mine does.
We have tried 3 different carbs (including mine)
different fuel tank, and he has also renewed the piston and liner (broken in correctly)
any ideas where to go from here bar a new engine?

Not sure if these would cause this problem but be worth investigating if you have two cars
I guess it might be worth checking the fuel tank and lines... that would make it lean if there was a blockage or clogged filter.
Matbe swap the exhausts over too.
Might not be any od these but would narrow the problem down.

youll be safe with a 190mm shell, just need abit of triming up around the wheel arches, and you would need to get longer body posts, or you can get the schumacher dessert strom narrow shell.

I have the XTR and i converted it to the XTR 3e with stock 3e gearing, and a friend of mine has a radar gun. We took the car to a big parking lot nearby and wound it up. After driving it for a couple min to warm it up we did a speed test and the radar read 71.3 So they werent lying on the website, it really does 70+. With the single speed transmission it did just about 50. So that is where i think some of you got that number from.
upgrades:
High performance rear shocks
Custom made Cold air induction( just installed )
Soon to come:
Custom made aluminum alloy front and rear A-Arms +1/2in. on each arm
Custom wheelie bar with wheels
Custom aluminum electronics box
Custom front bumper
Custom airbrushed body(done by me)
Would any of you suggest buying this truck, and is there any way to get it as a kit? I also agree with txt-30 on the bod. The stock one's ok but the spoiler could be improved. Any opinions on anything? Problems? Thanks for any response.
