info on batteries, esc, and motors

hey i am pretty new in rc boats but i have been doing rc cars for a while. i just bought the kyosho wavemaster and i was planning on putting a 14 turn double in it. but i don't know what batteries i should use and what speed control could handle it. and i was wondering if i could build my own batt packs like on rc cars. i would like to have 8 cell 3000 mah packs. also what cooling systems should i get. one more thing if you guys could suggest a good motor other than the 14 turn double car motor that would really be helpful.if you guys could help me on what to use and what sites i could go to and see those items it would be most appriciated

The wavemaster can be made very fast however car motors will not do it without a gearbox and the setup become complex and high maintenance

I suggest you look at Mega Mini 6 on 6-8 cells using an octura X438 prop

A cheaper alternative is the Graupner 700BB 8.4 on 12 cells
