hey chad.
if u wanna get a nice ESC that will last, look at the rc-hydros.com ones. theyr expensive but worth it.

The Topaz motors are a little hot for that boat but are usable. Milder (15 turns or more) are better for it. Look for an ESC made for dual motored modified trucks. Also check out Astro-flight ESC's, they have some waterproofable ones for boats.

I'm running a Novak Super Rooster in my Super Hawaii. I have two 17 turn Spped Gems. 11 turn motors are way too hot for the Super Hawaii. Also if you plan on running anything like that I would strongly suggest you make a water cooling system. With no ventilation or cooling your motors will litterally smoking hot after each run.

I would recommend removing the dual motors and gearbox, then putting in a single Speed 700 motor on 12 cells with a RC-hydros ESC.
I would not recommend using any ESC that is made for cars. if you get a drop of water in it you will probebly destroy it. An RC-hydros ESC is completely water proof.
