If the new T-Maxx really does 40+, the NMT Rwill not be faster. The NMTR will do about 32 with the stock clutch bell, but it will run circles around a stock T-Maxx in handling.

Duh, its 32mph with the stock FE, He is getting a 15SS. I agree with the handling bit though, it'l out handle the Maxx, i would think the Maxx would have more top end than your NMTR but the 15SS has LOADS of torque so you may have better low end and will definetely be able to carry that speed through the corners

change of plan...I now want my NMT to outrun 2WD trucks. What engine do I need without going crazy on price?

Fezzy,

The Nitro MT Racer does not include an engine. My NMT that I just sold had an OS .15CVX which is .7hp, the HPI .15SS is .7hp. Just because you have a more powerfull engine will not make it go faster, just better acceleration. The gearing controls the speed, not the engine.

mawapa,

Buy an OS .15CV-R, make sure to upgrade the drivetrain. Get a bigger tooth clutch bell for more top speed. Tires will also affect gearing: smaller tires - better accelerationwith a decrease top speed, larger tires - decrease acceleration with an increase in top speed.

ffs dude, are you blind?!

!!!!!!

And you'l have a time out running a 2wd ST Because the NMT is a 4wd which has twice the drivetrain resistance as it has to turn 4 wheels with the power instead of two, if you really wanted to do it though a .15 Big Block like a OS .15 RX Outta do it, i know someone running one in there MT and it flies.

I know exactly what he said, are you not reading his post.

Where did the fe that you talked about come into play??

My point is this, if you buy a new Racer kit no engine comes with the kit. The fact that he says with an SS implies one of 2 things, either he is buying it used or buying an SS along with the kit.

Since you made no reference to the section of my reply about the gearing, is it safe to say that you agree?

My point was in reference to your misunderstanding in stating that the SS would go faster than a fe with stock gearing since it is a more powerful engine. This was not an insult directed towards you just a clarification of the facts.

In reference to your post asking if I am blind, NO. Before you try to insult someone make sure to actually read your own posts as well as the rest of them.

Remember one thing, this is a hobby. I have no issues or problems with you nor am I trying to insult you, but I DO have a problem with being insulted from your replies.

mawapa,

slap a CV-r or RX in that MT with an 15t or higher clutch bell. It may take some different CB to get where you want to be in acceleration and top speed.
