Hiya.

I blew out my shocks last week and they need a rebuild. I have new shock oil seals and pistons. I disassembled the shocks, and I removed the yellow dust seals from the shock body, and it looks like the oil seals are captured deep in the shock body by a black (plastic) bushing. Can anyone tell me how to remove these black bushings so I can replace the seals? Are they pressed in or threaded?

Many Thanks

Their usually just pushed into place. To remove them take shock shaft and insert it from the bottom side. When your pushing it in push it in crooked so the end of the shaft catches on the bushing, then just give the shaft a little tap to push the bushing out. A really small screw driver works good for this too. You will need to push the bushing back in place (it will click into place) with some thing. A really small screwdriver comes handy here too, slide the seals and bushing onto the shaft of the screwdriver (the diameter of the screwdriver handle need to be the same diameter as the bushing) and the simply push the seals and bushing back into place threw the shock body. Make sure to cover the shafts in oil when pushing them threw the new seals so you don't rip the seals.

Good luck!;)
