I have a new k&b 3.5 outboard mounted on a top speed tunnel hull. the problem i am having it is leaking fuel either around the carb.or around the mid to top section.I was told by my local hobby shop to take out the screws and put permatext on them and tighten them back down, tha this would take care of it,but it didnt work.Any sujestion on what I could to fix this?

Is this a NEW K&B since they started production with new machines or just new to you......I have used the same motor and had lots of problems with the carb.......does your carb have the good needle valve or the small wire with a lock nut........the best fix if you want to run outboards is the OS

Is it leaking out under the flywheel? If it is, this is typical for the engine because what is is doing is lubricating the top bearings. one way to tell is to see if it is dirty looking. It will run down the top and collect around that area.

thank ya'll for the reply,it did help some, but I called k&b about the problem iwas having.I talked to techincal person ,found a solution for that. My needle valve onthe carb was set way to rich. After that ajustmemt ,it ran like it is supose to.The fuel didn't leak any more and I also got the carb to idle smoother.the people at the hobby shop just didnt know I guess how to set one up.I am not going to tell what hobby shop it was ,but it is one of the better known ones.thanks aamick1971.
