Okay I have a huge predicament going on right now!! I purchased a duratrax Maximum MT like 3 months ago and just the other day The recoil starter broke. So I figured no biggie just run to the hobby shop and get one. I called ahead and asked them and they said sure it is part number dtxg0750 just come on down. So I went down took all my old pieces with just as precaution. When I got there the replacement was much different from original. According to the duratrax site this is the correct replacement for teh torq. 16. I figured maybe they changed it someway and bought it anyway even tough it looked different I figured I would give it a shot. When I brought it home the mountain plate that mounts to side of motor is a different shape and smaller but the part that goes into the side of motor and connects to the piston is much bigger then the original??
I have a picture attached and the left part is my original and the right one is the replacement.
What other options do I have in order to get my truck started? According to the hobby shop duratrax has this problem all the time and they dont know why?? I contacted customer service and they insit it is the right part it may be a mispacked part? But the shop had 2 of them and both looked alike??
I heard something about a bump starter? Or would I be better off getting another motor until I get things sqaured away??
