in my scarab, the prop walk is nuts! 10 deg dudder to the right will spin out and 45 deg to the left will barely turn it! i am pretty sure the prop is a 2x40 what about going to a 1.8x42-44? or is there an easier way to get rid of the prop walk BESIDES going with what the manufacturer reccomeds? (22.5cc, i have a 30cc)

Check your rudder. It should be about 1-1/2" below your prop. Your prop sounds like it is too small. Try an Octura X470 or 472.

there is 2.5" under the hub of rudder than only 1" under the bottom of the blade. the prop is almost 2.75" diameter. by smaller, you mean less d and more pitch?

Your prop size sounds about right. You don't have enough rudder in the water. The Octura X470 measures 2.76" diameter with a 3.864" pitch. Is the boat set up with a surface or sub-surface drive? If it is a suface drive, the prop may be too high, giving you the problems.

honestly i dont know, i think it is surface, but i DID not build the boat.

OK, easy enough to tell, is the prop under the boat or fully submerged while running or does it come out of the transom?

off the back, so surface.

You might try looking online at Boat Modeler Magazine (rcboatmodeler.com). I think it was the last issue that talked about prop walk problems and how you can cure them. They have all the articles posted from back issues.
