Hey all sorry I have not posted in a while but my part still is not in.. The gear diff was stripped and I have been waiting a 3 weeks from hobby town and almost 2 months from some guy I had orderd from on the net. He was sayin the Diff gears were on recall and I figured out why my car diff stripped out after 6 hours of run time... I still waiting on these parts...
Does anyone know of somewere to buy there parts so I do not have to wait for ever to get them... The best was for me to get them is threw the mail... Well thanks for the help...
The only problem with my DT-10 is the Diff and It ran great ! I had it for about 2 months and I like it... But not drove it for about a month cause I'm waiting for that part... I was also woundering if u can get a new body for it that is a 1/10 scale cause I want to buy dodge body for it so I can cut the back out so I can pull start it from there...
I need some tyres also these tyres are not worn out yet but I do not like them I want some meaty tires and some road tyres and suggestions on what I should get... I like in amish country so I drive on the road alot not really in grass or any thing...
Thanks alot
where did you get the diff gears, and whereever that is, do they have the pinion gear?...

You can mount pretty much any body to the truck...just as long as the measurements matches somewhat...

i was just wondering, how long does the piston/sleeve last in the TT15 engine?

That depends on alot of things...but it should last a few gallons I think...

I sent my car into the lhs and the guy checked it out and it was my glow plug that was the problem so all is fixed now. Last weekend i took my car out to a friends place and for the first time it actually ran well. I tried my car on the road instead of grass and it flies. I also atempted my first jump with the car and it handled it well and this time nothing broke.

For some reason the exhaust on my car always seems to fill up with this thick oily stuff and then that travels up the pipe leading from it and the fuel tank can't get any air and the the fuel doesn't go into the engine. How can I fix it?
DT-10 basher
11-03-2004, 05:40 PM
if your engine is running really rich then this could be the problem, or you can just bend the pipe round so that the stinger is angled slightly down then the oil should drain out normally. hope this helps

What setting should the needle be on

I am thinking about selling my dt anyway. I have had no luck with it because every time i run it somthing breaks  and then it is a 40km drive and a week of waiting for it to be rapaired. I am thinking of getting a team losi LST monster truck. Over here it is $1099 Australian, could i get it cheaper from tower hobies or some other site. Also how much do you think i could get for my dt. It has had about a litre of fuel through it and is in fairly good condition.

Same here, I am thinkin about sellin my DT-10 to get a new Sport Traxx from Traxxas and I think that I will have better luck with it and I will be able to get the parts for that thing easier and I will not have to order the parts and wait 4 weeks every time I break this thing

hello everybody, been out for long now.. now my dt10 have a custum made fron bulkhead (steel), steel rear shock tower, ported engine (much much faster), reinforced front c hubs, digger tires, relocated battery pack, steel gear steering servo, replaced diff ring gear (steel), and some other ****.. will post pics tomorrow..

has anyone tried a 21.sized engine in this car?? i know it will be to much for the transmission, but i am planning on a custom made slipper clutch.. would be to cool to see a dt10 pass the 60mph barrier or pull a wheelie as you press the trigger..

I own a DT-10, in the UK.
Mine is very different from the manual pics and the box pic..
-I have a metal exhaust (silver coloured)
-I have a very thin servo thing.
-My pipes are green
Anyway, good to know there's some DT-10 Enhusiasts still out there...

It's not dead...it's just hibernating...
One of the problems is that I have done about everything I want to do with my DT-10, it's extremely reliable and fast now...I have no upgrades left to do, almost no part wear and so on - thus little to disscuss... :D
You are welcome to ask me how to get your DT-10 to the same spec. :)
Forgot to add that it's winter here and I don't run my truck in the winter... :(

I've FINALLY fixed the problems I had, I got my DT-10 moving higher than 5mph =)
I changed the Glow Plug, and I ran the tank bone dry...1st time I've done it.
Anyway, DCL, why don't you try putting some bigger engines on your DT-10, experiment with it? Try making custom things...etc
DCLXVI
02-04-2005, 03:28 PM
I won't experiment with it because it works so good...I really don't need it faster or more powerful (I have problems keeping my front wheels on the ground during accelation) and I don't need it faster as it get somewhat uncontrolable at max speed as it is...
Dewgel
02-04-2005, 05:17 PM
True, the DT-10 isn't the best for handling, I had mine out today (finally started rocketing).
Do you ever think there's something loose with the front wheels?
DCLXVI
02-09-2005, 01:57 PM
Loose? The stock suspension is alittle bit on the soft side for hard ground (it likes to lift one front wheel when turning sharply)...

Hey Guys, Havn't posted in a while but still have the DT-10. Its been running great except for one thing when it has been running for a while (the time varies from 1-4 tanks of fuel) it will just suddenly stall. When i try to start it again the fuel just bubles in the carb and the fuel doesn't stay in the carb it just forces its way back into the tank. It starts again after about 15 minutes but is realy anoying. Can someone help me out?

Well, Laser, I think the main differance are that I do not consider the truck built for 5 meter jumps so if I were to break it doing that I wouldn't really blame the truck...and as for the modifications I've made...it's mainly the roll-cage that is of most importance...
Aaron, what glow-plug are you using, try replacing it if you are running your stock glow-plug...

OK.. i know tthis truck isnt supposed to make 5-10 metres jumps again and again.. but i cant resist doin it.. the roll cage idea is good, because it will protect when landing 5 metre jumps upside down... hehe,, a tip is to make your own bulkhead of solid steel or alu.. since those bulkheads cant even handle the stress of a 2metre jump ffs..

Hey guys just bought myself a new radio. Its the futaba 2pl. Its a great radio and it has a lcd display and even has abs braking. The reason why i bought it was because the wires in my throtal servo came loose and toched each other creating a short circut and every thing got fried. The thing is though is that i bought it down in Sydney ( 3 hour drive from home ) and had installed it all and then relised that my glo driver was flat and i had left the charger at home. Do you know any way to conect a normal batery to it ?

Hey, Just wondering and thought you might know, is it posible to put larger wheels on the dt 10 to give it more ground clearance. Also what engine do you have in your truck? I want more speed and power, what would you suggest?
Aaron 285
07-02-2005, 08:59 AM
Also many engines have different crank shafts to the original engine. Do you have to alter the clutch assemble in any way to fit the dt 10?
eg. OS Max CV-RX
DCLXVI
07-03-2005, 07:20 AM
I'd recommend the OS 15 CV-R, with a pull-starter if you don't want to use a starterbox, or tiger drive...
I got the short crankshaft version and bought fly-wheel and clutch seperatly...

Hi
Do you have any tips on keeping my engine running for long peroids of time? The most i can get out of it at the moment is 2 1/2 tanks  It just stops and the fuel evaporates in the carb and the needle is at least 3 1/2 turns out. Also Could you post a pic of your engine.
Thanks

I had that problem to with the engine getting to hot...I think I solved that by rerouting the fuel line so it goes up over the diff and enter the carb from the back side...that way the fuel keeps cooler, also I think I replaced my glow plug with a QuickFire F6 or F7 and that really did the trick...

Thanks for the advice at the moment i have an os a3 plug in the truck, it seems to work well. Ive fixed the problem and have already rerouted the fuel line but that didn't solve the problem. Today i switched from 15% nitro to 10% and that seemed to fix it. But it is not running at the moment because the exhaust header wont stay on because the threads are ruined. Do you know any way to fix this?
Thanks

Put a nut on the other side of the header or get a new header...
Hmmm....OS #3, I'd go with OS #8 and something like 20% nitro...
