I have inherited a 54 inch deep Vee and it has a OPS .80 motor.
I have looked around for a componet break down of this engine.
my first questio is when i disasmebled the engine the front bearing has NO dust shield.
I have raced On-raod for 3 seasons and own 5 Nova Rossi motor they all have a dust shield.
perhaps this brand does not use one but that would seem odd not to have one.
As I staed I would like to get this oat to a race level.
Any help will be greatly apprediated. :D

Not too many problems with dust on the water! Seriously, some engines do have a phenolic shield on the inner bearing nearest the piston to help from air leakage that would mess with your carb settings. Get hold of Remy Haynes Jr. at Aeromarine, he may be able to help you out with the schematics.

I'm more concerned the with no seals at the crank bearing that there is a vacuum leak not a dust issue.
I have not been able to make it idle at all.
it starts but will stall if you don't keep revin the motor.
I'm experenced with .12's and .21's On-road and 30 years of mechanical experience.
In the carburator day's I was good with carb's and never seen a carb. I could not make run right.
