well im getting a kyosho viper r boat tomarrow. and i was woundering what would be a good setup for it? i was thinking of droping in a novak tempest esc with a 6 turn single d4 motor. would that work well? if not what do you recommend? also what kind of paint should i use? i want to make my own custom paint job cause i got my self a air brush. also what would be the best prop for this boat? i want it as fast i can get it. also any good drive line parts i should buy to make it run better? and one last question can i put twin out board electric out drives on it? something like the kyosho out boards?
all help and recommendations would be greatly apreciated. thanks for every ones time

well i just go the boat. its haul is in great shape, it has a water cooling jacket heat sink motor mounts and some other things. its custom painted already and who ever painted it did a good job. it has a clear coat on it paint has no runs or crackes in it. i know i could put a bigger prop on it.
but i just need a good set up to make this thing a rocket

ok a couple of things
the 6 - turn is way too hot the arm to use is a 16 urn with a Octrua X427
if you want a hassle free and fast boat get a Graupner 700BB8.4 and run it on 12 cells with an Octura X435 or Y535

what would happen if i droped in a 6turn? would it do a back flip? right now i got a trinity p2k2 motor with a novak tempest esc so motor limit isnt much of a problem
also where can i get a octrua prop? any wed sites or links?

The 6 turn will burn the comm and brushes and overheat
Octura 847 674 7351
use an X427

The props are $10 or so - get the aluminium one so you dont have to balance it - but do clean it up with some wet and dry
Krylon is good paint. Virtually everyone uses it

ok cool
thanks again
any thing else i should know?
also what would be a good thing to seal water from coming in? i sorta got a problem with water seaking in where the shaft is exiting the haul. should i use silicone? fiber glass?
it leaks when the batterys are in

epoxy it in use a bit of filler - Qcell or talc - the shaft needs to be held firmly

will j/b weld work? and will marine tex work for a filler? its for real boats and drys solid. also is it a real good idea to use a saddle pack battery for the boat where i can put 3 ceels on each side to even out the weight? cause i think it looks stupid leaning on one side because of the battery
