This car looks pretty nice, and should be available in the US soon.
Here are its features:
-Dual belt, gear diff drive train.
-Airtronics-built TX-2 radio gear.
-Nosram ESC.
-Saturn 20-Turn motor.
-Full ball bearings (14 total).
-Purple anodized alloy components.
-Adjustable body posts.
Sounds like a winner. I'll find a picture soon.

My wife and I just got our cars. She already had me paint up a skyline body.
They seem to have a bit of under steer in full throttle turns but i'm sure that can be dialed in a little.
It's a quick little kit. My Custom Works enforcer is just a bit faster although it is only 2wd (comparing same gearing and motors of course).

I bought one these about a month back and they are great!!! It is my first RC Car ever so it meets my standards. My next RC vehicle will probably be a nitro truck, maybe a HPI Nitro MT or a HPI Nitro Rush. Anyways, if anyone has ANY extra info on the Saturn 20T motor that comes stock with the Sprint and tips for maintenence for the Sprint please let me know!!!

I believe the American version Sprint RTR with the stock Saturn 20T motor and stock everything runs between 25 - 32mph. I have never clocked mine tho...

Can these things handle a crash into the curb? Are they good for bashing?

I've bashed mine into a curb a few times and had a mountain bike fall on it and the worse damage was a scuffed front end of the body from the curb and a cracked fender well on the body from the bike LOL.

I will be joining the ranks of the HPI Sprinter soon. Over here in England, they come in kits. There was a race done before the end of the year in Germany. It was a 24 hour race and the HPI Sprint won it. It is on the LRP website.

Can someone answer me this...
Does the sprint share the same basic chassis as the Racer2 kits??
I mean to find hop-ups and stuff is this difrent from teh racer, or does it share parts??
I am intrested in getting one to race at the LHS track, would this be competitive with some small upgrades??
TIA

Have you asked a lhs about your question. I am wondering the same now. I don't think they will match up because this chassie is suppose to be replacing the racer kits from what I understand.

Actually it looks very simular to the original RS4 Pro. I have the original RS4 which has one belt and a transmission in the rear. The RS4 PRO was an upgrade to this chassis. It replaced the rear tranny with a belt.
If it is in fact the old RS4 Pro it is quite racable. With its more durable plastic composit it also makes a great basher.

Check to see if your rear dogbone connections have been put in backwards. Mine were and I because of this little insite, I missed my entire 2nd race trying to fix both sides. Don't be caught out in the rain on this one. Take off your washers that go between the motor and heat sink. They slide plus metal to metal to aluminum isn't good. Metal 2 metal is perfect.

my fault on the wrong terms. the dog bones are good but the upper part holding the arms together were not. I just put 55 weight in my shocks. stiffy hehe. it comes stock with only 30. hmmm. has anyone bought any hopups yet for this bad boy?

Now what exactly is the Sprint? Is it a brand new Chassi or is it based off of the Sport 2 or something. It looks like a fun kit, seems like it can be dialed in for drifting rather easily!:D

As I stated before it looks just like the original RS4 with the 2-belt conversion. I still race my original RS4 in the original configuration (one belt and rear transmission - no dual belt conversion).

Don't worry about winning or losing. Concentrait on improving your lap times. Winning will come naturaly.
When ever I go racing I go to have fun. I go home a winner every time.;)

I just bought a HPI Dodge Stratus and a HPI Lotus Elise Sport. Which one should I use for racing? It seems to me everyone has the dodge but I am a chevy man myself. Not too many bodies out there besides the corvette to race.

I got the January issue of RC Car Action from the store (I just signed up for a subscription... itll be a two months before it comes in) and I have the page up with the Sprint on it... and it has tons of neat stuff. So they are good? For a charger, how long would it take with the LRP Pulsar charger... from what I read it is pretty good  If anyone needs to know anything... I have the magazine so just ask me... or someone else would know :o

[they were all hpi sprints]
i just got my sprint last wednesday lol but i recal someone mentioning a few post up about it has some oversteer in it...well thats due to the poor tires the car has when u get it. my first race which was last saturday, i had a tone of trouble holding the car under control. but after that race i got fed up with the stoc ktires so i went into the hobby shop and bought some 26 mm V-grooved HPI racing tires, and after i installed the new HPI tires the car was MUCH easier to handle, and the new tires even gave it better acceleration. Im hoping to get some 26mm X-grooved HPI racing tires soon.

Anyone else slice there tires into 2 pieces yet? It'll happen, just keep the stock camber settings and stock tires and It'll happen. Its the inner side that slices btw. I'll get pics soon.

Does anyone has comment on the the sprint Gti. I would like to hear some comment before taking one.
minijosh
05-29-2003, 01:37 PM
the gti is a more narrow wheel base version of the sprint. kind of like the ta04-SS by tamiya. I have a sprint and a ta04-SS but I haven't ran both. The sprint wins alot of races because the turning ratio. More nimble and quick kind of like jack hehe. how much are you getting it for? I might be able to get you a pro 3 for a good price if you want.

Here are the specs on that pro 3 if you want it. I am not going to put this in the for sale area. This is a HPI Hook-Up for HPI people. This guy races kind of for them and I got the drop on his backup.
Do you fancy my PRO3
Hot Boddies 3 piece motor mount/heat sink(Purple)
Hot Boddies 2.5mm rear brase(Purple)
Titanium Hingepins(Purple)
Alloy Hex for wheels(Purple)
This is the best cept HPI in existance!!!!!
Feel the diffs to bellieve!!!
Oh it may also have some other bits too but we'l have to see...
