Hello everyone,

I really want to build a fast little RFFS plane. But theres a problem. I dont really know which plane to build. I was wondering if there would be a way to make Chris's little Pitts zoom around a little bit faster or not. Also, I only have Ni-Cads. I havnt ordered those Li-Polys yet ( I need some $$ to fall out of the sky first);) . I guess it doesnt have to look real scale or anything. I can run it on 3 or 4 cells. I have two sheets or 1/32 balsa. Im ready to slice and dice! I have the flying fever after coming back from a local fly-in!!!!

Hi Buddy,
If you start trimming the wings on the skeeter to a shorter span, and use three cells with the KP-00, you ought to be able to skoot around at a pretty good pace. Of course, you will need a stick to go with all that 1/32";)
Take care, Dave

Did you scrap the RFFS glider Idea or are you still working on that? Was interested to see how that would turn out.I found a place that tells you how to make some super tough bubbles to help in finding small thermals but Ill have to find it again thought I saved it but I guess not
Good Luck n Take Care

Nope Mike, the glider idea is still in. I wanted to get as much powered flight with the rffs before winter came. Its already dropping below the 50's here. Once winter comes im going to build that little glider. Im saving the wood too. I build a nice little foam plane out of some Depron foam from a Pico stick-SD's wings. (sp?). and the foam from the boz my Tx came in. So i havnt givin up any balsa yet;) . I will try to get some pics of my foam plane. I took your idea on that plane instead dave. I had close to a 20 in. wing span, now i cut it down bout 4 in. Im waiting to fly it right now but the gusts here are peaking 20 mph.  :( .

Hi,
With the shorter wing, you can also cut some off of the stabilizer. As long as you keep it in proportion and do not remove all of the counterbalance, you can trim it right down until the speed suits you. Of course, as long as you are running a U-80 prop with the small gears, the speed will be less than what you can achieve with a higher gear ratio and more prop pitch.
Cheers, Dave
