Anyone here on the western side of Mass? I'm stuck between two tracks that are 45 minutes and 50 minutes away. (RC madness in Conn. and The Megadrome in North Adams). Nothing here in between except the home built at work version. Just raced at the Megadrome Friday night and loved it!! It's an indoor offroad track open all winter!! Maybe not as big as some, but the setup, people, and racers make it a winner!! Nice job Bob, I'll be back!! Later.
Gone Nitro
cars: Tweaked Rusty, HPI NMT, and yee ole vintage Marui Hunter (no catagory for him though, 16yrs old)

From Springfield here. For me Madness is not too bad, only 15 minutes or so. Have not been to the track in N. Adams, will have to take a drive up there one of these days. Mostly do off-road with old and new Maxx, Dominator, and NMT. Also have a Team Factory TC3 for indoors and flat track stuffs.

RK, bashing is probably out. First thing, you're in VT I'm in Deerfield, Ma. second is we're a bit missmatched on age, don't take that wrong though. According to your DOB I graduated before you were born, but If you're at Megadrome some Friday night, I might be there. Black and yellow rustler racing about once a month, say HI!!
Mugster, sounds like you're all nitro...megadrome is an awesome track, but it's indoor so it's electric. They are planning an outdoor track, but having a tough time with volunteering to do the tough labor. It would be nice, that way I could take out my HPI NMT for a spin too!! Later guys, glad to see I'm not the only one in the East!!

Well, another successful night! My friend and I took 1st and 2nd in the A mains again. So that's it for open novice for me. But the old rustler hasn't quite the speed I want for the Truck stock class I'll be in next time. Xmas list has some of the hops I need, but still in search of the stock motor I'll buy. Think P2K2 stock rebuildable will be the way to go. Stinger motor holding up fine though, but I go over 23/84 I fear the motor won't take it, plus the torque suffers. It was the first time on the clay last night, and the track is flat (no jumps yet). They need another load of clay which is coming soon I think. I probably won't be there for December, but if I do it would probably be the 6th or 13th (Friday the 13th, yikes). Other than that, It will move us into January. 50 min drive from my house, but worth it. Later.

Dry out a cold, flat, clay track that is very wet?? No racing could be held on the 6th, we were there but two problems. One, the track was a ice and water mix. Even though the track is indoors, the clay has enough moisture to cause some ice, and when the wood stove fires up and it melts...bingo, swamp buggies. It was driveable for the stadium trucks, but extremely wet. Then there was some software problems. It was fun anyway. Anyone know how to fix a wet clay track?? Later.

Guys,
is the megadrome the one in Adams or north Adams? Is it indoor, and do they allow 1/8 nitro?
Maybe I'll check it out. Lemme know

prevelige,
The track is in North Adams, the Hobby shop is in Adams. The track is indoor offroad, so it has to be electric. But, they have plans to build an offroad outdoor for nitro this year. If it ever warms up. The track is a perfect size, and the owner is excellent. I'll be heading up there in February some time. Later.

Just a note, practice nights are Thursday nights from 5pm to 8pm.
Will try to go next week to practice night or Friday night race night, I guess they had about 45 entries last Friday night!!
Rusty is in many pieces right now (Jangifing for you rusty fans), hope the weight reducing and rebuilt tranny proves to get the edge back. Later.

Are you and you friends racing? Electric? Nitro? On or Offroad?
You see two of my rides above, so I'm all offroad can't beat the dirt/air combo. Later.

Will be at RC Madness on 7/16 for about 5pm. Nitro will see it's first track test.

Do they race buggies in n.adams? 2wd? 4wd?
Hard Core RC Guy
07-25-2003, 10:31 PM
2wd buggies are a bit more prominent, but there are a couple of 4wd. It's all electric and indoor. It's a great size track, not to big, not to small with good people. practice is Thursday from 6-8pm, and racing on Friday nights. Haven't been in a month or so, but track is great!!!

I am opening a Home and Garden Decor, and Joke Shop in Brimfield Ma. I am arranging for a R/C exhibition to be held August 31st, at our store. I have two TMaxx's that I will be running, and I am bringing in the R/C Doctor, Glenn Johnson. Glenn will be doing a clinic on Nitro and electric maintenance and repair. Glenn will also be bringing parts, and will be doing free repairs...labor free, parts extra. So, is anyone interested in showing off there stuff? We will have both on and off road areas for you to do your demos. Let me know if you are interested, thanks, Badmaxx.
