Hi Jimmy, B4's will be in next week if Horizon has them in stock. Just got motor spray in and it's at the store. New bodies and tires also. Tc stuff starting to trickel in, parts etc. Just got some new 3300 GP's in with killer numbers from B&T. Won't be long before their legal. Good luck at the state race. Hope you and Ron and Billy and all the locals represent NC respectively. I know you will. Like the man said in Top Gun," this is what you've been trained for, MAKE US PROUD". ;) Going to finish painting tomorrow, then the lights go up. Cya.:)

Jimmy Mac, Sorry man, They've got me so drugged up right now, that I can't remember much at all. Bo Daughtry wanted to ask you if you would finish his car for him and set it up for racing on the track. He has most of it done, but needs help for the finale touches. I don't think the fence will affect the radios because the metal building has'nt yet, but we will need to test it and see. I'll know something about the B4's monday when order time comes around and i'll let you guys know asap. Thanks, and good luck at the state race.
Ron, many thanks for running the track saturday. We will settle up afterwards. If it were'nt for Ron running things saturday, we would'nt be able to race. Again, many thanks and good luck at the state race too.
Jimmy 27, I think most of the guys are trying to consentrate on the state race right now, but look out afterwards. You will probably have more then enough compitition in spec class then you want. Remember what they say: "Be carefull what you ask for, you might just get it."
Billy, I'll let you know about the B4's as soon as I can next week. Chance might be right because I have'nt tried to order any yet. Good luck at the state race to you too Billy.
I hope this makes sence because like i said, they have me heavily medicated right now for a pinched nerve. When it happened, it took me to my knees and i could'nt get up for awhile. Again many thanks to Ron and Jimmy 27 for running things. I could'nt do any thing without you're help. And a special thanks to Jimmy 27 for all the hard work you have done on those 90-100 temp days. We would'nt be opening this soon if it were'nt for you. Who says you can't find a cop when you need one? lol.
Anyway, once again, a special GOOD LUCK to all the drivers at the state race. CYA

JIMMY 27
Okay, here's the deal. We'll run a 5 lap oval dash race; I get a 3 lap head start; I run a modified motor; and 3300 batteries. You have to run all spec stuff; and you have to cover one eye; hey also I get to hire any driver I want to drive for me. This sound's fair to me, LOL:D :D :D . Seriousley though, great job Jimmy on getting the track ready, THANK'S A BUNCH! Looking forward to the 12th. Joseph will be in spec class trying to stay between the wall's, :) . He had servo problem's at Durham last week, and I kept telling him it was his driving that was the problem. Anyhow he lined up for the A main and the car would not turn at all; I grabbed my car; switched transponder's, and he went and won the race. The servo would not work when it heated up. As for me I will be running stock for the opener.
Had a good time on the indoor today also. Joseph picked up 2nd in spec and 4th, I think in stock. I got 2nd in stock; still ran 14 lap's; maybe one day I'll get to 15. This was 2nd time I ran the T3; very pleased so far; just need to get a factory team with all the good stuff so I can fine tune a little more.
Anyway Jimmy 27, let me know if it's a race, I need to find a good driver so I'll have a chance to win.
See ya'll later, Hank

No need to go that far Hank,, Jimmy could be 5 feet from the finish line with 2 seconds to go, you could be almost a lap down, and still win. Now this isn't to slam that nice guy,,, but God,, he has the worst luck when it comes to winning a race!!! And when he does pull it off, he ends up falling through drivers stands.:D
No, I'm just kidding,,, I got a feeling he's going to be a lot better at this onroad stuff than he thinks. The car he has is a lot better than the one he used to run at Nahunta. Those Pro2's had so much flex in the chassis, you coulda run them without shocks!
I'll be posting todays results after I get off of here, and just let me say again,, Man is it hot up there!!!
No problem Glenn, I'm just finding it a little harder to drive as much as I used too. Anyhow,, gotta get going,, gotta due Rosewood proud at the state race. Hard to belive,,, so far,,, I'm ahead of Jimmy Mac!!!
Too bad,,, I know that's gonna change!!!

Jimmy Mac, since you have some track time from tire testing, help me out please. I need a pinion size for my 1/12 car. GM3, sanyo 3000, 48 pitch 75 tooth spur. Thanks :)
JimmyMac
10-08-2002, 01:28 AM
Chance start off with a 4:1 ratio then work your way down 3.75:1 . You'll mainly have to go by time remain in your battery after the 8 minute heats. Also tire size. My rears are worn down and Ron... I might been those front tires I gave you if I want to run 1/12th this weekend. Mine are torn up and I can't run without them. So looks like Stock Touring for me this weekend "IF" I can find a lower Steering Knuckle button head screw. That or I have to run my 414... Hmmmmmmm. Maybe I'll run that so I don't have to paint a new body....... Anyhow, I'm off to bed...... :o

Chance, Had a guy come in the store yesterday and ask if we were going to run 1/12 scale cars. He said there were 7 of them from Virginia looking for a track to run on. I told him yes, Rosewood will be running 1/12. Only his group likes to run 4 cell mod. He said they had no problem making 8 minutes. So I told him we (Rosewood) will run 4 cell Mod and 6 cell stock. They are probably about the same speed. So anyone wanting to run 1/12 scale has a choice of 4cell mod or 6cell stock, with a time limit of 8 minutes. Sounds to me like a good class peoples.;)
Jimmy Mac, thanks for the picture. Only thing left to do before race day is put up the lights and lay the wire down for the lap counter. We plan on being there all day wednesday testing the lap counter and final clean up. Maybe you can stop by and see how your car does at night? :D
Jimmy27, The doctor has me on pain killers and muscle relaxers for now. I hope i will be ok for saturday because Ron has to work. Maybe Ron can show you how to run the computer and the races just incase i am not coherrent enough. ;) I will see you wednesday and we can discuss it then.
Congrates to all the winners at the state race. Don puts on a good show, and i'm sure everybody had a good time.

Your website site mentions 2:30 being end of practice. BUT above I thought you mentioned opening up at 9 and starting at 12 or 1 o'clock. I'm just a bit confused.... Sorry about the confusion. Ron and I need to get together on the times. Practice starts this saturday at 9am and runs through 12noon. Races start at 1pm. These times may be just for this saturday only. Depends on the lights going up or not. Down the road, we will probably open at 12 noon and raceing starts at 3pm like the off road times. Anyway, we can vote on it if the drivers want to. Hope this clears up things. CYA

Breaking in the new track was right Glenn! ;) Had fun. Can't wait to make a stab at it again. I guess my luck has just been bad lately..... But that will soon change!!! :D Looks like this course is alittle technical for gas cars. Seems like those boys don't want to slow down for the turns. Thanks for the picture of the track Guys. :) Billy, sorry about the broken parts on your/ Tiffany's car. We plan on getting the gutters around the outside walls like Don has done. Rosewood's asphalt track is still a work in progress. We have a few other ideas that will be a pleasant surprize. Have to try and prepare the indoor track for this weekend. I will be glad when this back injury is operated on and finished. They are keeping me medicated untill then. Plan on building a ramp for Bob on both tracks too. We will rotate tracks on saturdays untill it gets to cold to race outside. This weekend is offroad, next weekend will be asphalt. Once again, sorry for the broken parts, we will have the gutters up asap. Hope everyone had a good time. Maybe i will get to race my Tc3 next time. I'm dying to try it out. I'll be running with Joseph. Hope he's easy on me, that kid is tough! If he stays with this hobby, he will be up there in a few years with the pros. :)
Chance, going to try and work on the inside track this week. Going to do what i can. Hope to see ya'll saturday. CYA.

And of course, I have to work this Sat. too,, God,, I can't get two Sat.s off in a row, but I can work 2 in a row,,,,
I got tomorrow off again, so Glenn, if your going out to the track, I'll put the puter back upstairs and get the results to post on the website.
Now,,, the 1/12th scale car is sick,,, might be something due to it sliding backwards into the turn 1 wall at 30+ mph,,, going to change receivers and see whats up then. The TC3 is up and ready for the Spec class,, and from what I've heard,, my lap times when practicing were faster han either Jimmy's or Josephs during the race last weekend,,,,,should be a real good Spec race the next time,,, that is if I can get it off,,,,,,,,:D

What's going on guy's! Het Ron, just tell him you'll work all night friday to get Sat. off.lol. I had to work some Sat. morn., then go work a little early Sunday to be there Sat. Hope you make it though, we're going to be there for offroad this weekend if plan's hold out.
Ortiz, I haven't been racing offroad or on for very long; but for offroad I have driven Losi and AE and have found the T3 to be easier for me to drive. I also think that the racer support there favor's AE also in that the more dominant driver's; IE the Beasley's and Team Hammer drive T3's; and when these guy's come they are the one's to beat. Also most everyone is helpful when you ask their advice too.
Well anyway; had a blast Sat. Can't believe I won my first stock A main; Jimmy, Blake, and Chris J. all had problem's, but hey I'll take a win anyway I can:D :D :D LOL. Jimmy 27; Joseph said he,s ready for a rematch in 2; see you their! Can't wait.

t3 all the way:D easy to set up and easy to work on..you will also be able to get any part that you might break there at glen's or of me..:) as for buggies, b3 until the b-4 comes out..:) buggies are like 1/12 scales only off-road.they are harder to drive and turn faster lap times than trucks.in other words alot more fun..i'm sure chance will back me up on that..:D
well, talk to ya'll later......billy

Ortiz, I have 2 trucks for sale. One is a Team T3. The other is a Factory Team T3. Right now they are dirty and haven't been touched since the Regional. Let me know if you want to try one of them out. The FT T3 was under weight with my Ultra's for the Regional. :D Chance, I would use Pinks in the rear. Of course you can wait to see me in action with them next race. ;) I think it's about time to end Ortiz's reign in 12th scale class!! :D Anyone want to buy a Tamiya 414M2? Might get rid of mine unless if I can find a different chassis for it that lets me NOT use saddle packs... Love the car... but I hate Saddle packs.... blah blah blah... Catch yall L8R......

Ortiz, if you can, drive both a T3 and xxxt. One will work better, just depends on how you drive. Several of the local losi drivers have switched to AE trucks lately.
Have you considered a buggy?
Jimmy Mac, I know what you mean about those saddle packs. I just don't have enough good batteries. I have to change them to fit whatever car I'm using. I've been thinking of trying them in my B3 with 3 cells forward and 3 cells back, sure would save the hassel of changing the packs around each week.
Billy, are you going to wait for a new buggy? Just run your old car, do you still have it?

Glenn, I'll try to stop by the store tomorrow to have a look see at those batteries. What's the price on them Sanyo's?
Chance, that's why I don't race offroad right now. If I were to race offroad, I'd have to reconfigure all my battery connectors so that my batteries would fit in the truck. Of course I could just switch to Deans and race my batteries in my T3 and TC3. But not my 414 or RC12L3.
Well, I'll talk to yall later. Gonna look up some TC3 stuff. Getting ready for Cleveland!!

LOSI IS BETTER!!!!
If you take the time to learn how to set them up and what all the changes do for you and against you!! The fast guys(and there are only a few that I can think of) that run AE there would be fast with a Duratrax (well maybe not)! Just look at all of the Big races who wins them??? Losi or AE? I know everyone is entitled to there opinions but I think if youput a little time into the XXX and XXX-T they will repay you for it!!
PS. Why do all of the AE guys run one set-up at everytrack??? LOL
That was for TEAM HAMMER!!!!

it said on the website that yall were changing the track (indoor). So... whats going on?
JimmyMac
10-17-2002, 11:02 PM
Jady, outdoor is Onroad, indoor is Offroad. Dat be da way it gonna be bro! Losi, AE, who cares. It's all in the tires!
Anyhow, been to the track today. Glenn and Jimmy W. were working on it filling in the pot holes and tidy'n it up for this weekends indoor "offroad" race. Next weekend will be "onroad" race outdoors.
I also picked up some Sanyo 3300 from Glen today. Saving them for Mod class. I'll also use them in Cleveland for Stock hehe. Anyhow the numbers seem comparable to my Ultras. They just have more runtime of course. The GP3300's that Glenn has have alittle less voltage than the Sanyo's. BUT the GP's have a lower IR. Sanyo's are around 17~19 IR. GP's are 15 IR. Just letting yall know.
He also has some foam tires for the TC's. Purple and Double Purples. Also some Purple Fronts for 1/12th. Rears are on back order.
Well hope some of yall make it out this weekend for the race. Winter is coming so it's time to get those buggies and trucks ready for the Wood!

Well, I had a talk today with the manager,, and it seems that now he's going to "try" to get me Sat. off every other week. Wether that happens or not remains to be seen. So,, That means that NO, I wont be racing at Rosewood this weekend on the 19th or the following weekend on the onroad track on the 26th. I am scheduled to have Nov. 2nd off, so that'll be an offroad weekend.
I will though be able to go to the track in the morning to help setup.
Just wish the cleaninmg service was still alive,,,,,
Anyhow,, See ya'll whenever,,,

Bo, I know you don't respond on here, but I dont' like your servo. Testing your car Sunday showed that your car was faster than Ron's and Jimmy W.... but I still think your servo sucks. Turn in was way slow and I had to plan waaay ahead of the turn to make it turn right. If I waited like I was driving my car, then the turn would pass me by and I/you would lose a half a sec per sharp turn. Your servo is a high torque servo. What you need is a high speed one. Anyhow, I'll go over it with you at the track.

Hey guys, I got me a NTC3 and was considering trying it out there this Sat. Is their going to be enough nitro tourers to race this Sat. I just thought I heard about some other big race going on somewhere. Ive raced oval, offroad, and thought I would give on-road a try it sounds like fun. Also I do not have a personal transponder will that be a problem. Thanks, Kevin McDougald.

Check out the www link below for track and race schedules. There will be nitros and electrics at Rosewood on Saturday. The race in Durham at RC Speedway on Sunday is electrics and the Trophy race is in Newport News, VA. for both nitro and electrics.
You can buy ($55) or rent a personal transponder (5 per raceday) for the races at Rosewood or RC Speedway.

Well the last offroad race didn't happen. So much for loyal offroaders huh!! hehehe... I know, I'm an onroader, but I'll be back to offroading come the next Rosewood race! I've decided to only run one touring car (TC3) and retire the 414 for awhile. This will leave open some electronics for one of my trucks or a new buggy. Can't wait! As for transponders, Glenn (the Wood) has track transponders. So be sure to have a transponder mount or I'll supply you with a body reamer to put a small hole in our body for the transponder.

We got plenty of off road tires for anyone wanting to run on the inside track. Haven't made any changes to the indoor track yet because have been concentrating on getting the asphalt track up and running. The indoor track is in fairly good shape. Just need to smooth it out a little and fill in turn two. Number one on the priority list is a ramp for BOB and others with a wheel chair. Put up lights for the outdoor track and have the gutters for the outside wall. Going to try and install them Friday if it stops raining. I'll save you a set of tires Billy, no prob. Hope we have good weather for saturday and sunday. Jimmy is setting up my spec car, so maybe i'll get to run a little. CYA

My 1/12th wil be ready for Saturday. Had I known Glenn had them I wouldn't of order them. I would have saved a ton of money!! Hopefully Rodney will have his 1/12th as well. Talk Don into goin! We have arms if he's worried about that!!
Well let me head out. I have a "new" car to work on... haha...

As for the results,,, last week there wasn't enough drivers to race so it turned into a practice day, that's why no results.
I geuss I could add a page to the site and have one page for the last offroad race, and the other for the last onroad race. Geez,,, more typing,,,,,
Anyhow,, Dudes,, Glenns got a DELL! I'll be able to go to the track Sat. to help setup the puter,, but then I gotta go to work so,,,,This is a "new" laptop with a new printer and the Windows Autoscore running on it,, so please,, bear with me as I try to get it all up and running so you can all race while I'm at work!!:(
But, the 2nd. of Nov. I do have off so at least my truck'll be able to run once in awhile,,,,:)
Anyhow,, see you all later,,,

Ron as posted on the Durham thread, let me know on here if you are goin to Newport News tomorrow. Be prepared to leave at 6:30am if you are. If not, uhhh oh well. Well let me get back to working on my car. Broke it today in the main. CVD broke in half and the oneway ball cup fell out. Luckily Glenn found it after the Race! Thanks!
Good racing today guys. You all did good. Spec was pretty close, but Jimmy 27 waited til the last lap to try my driving lines which took him out from 1st to 2nd place giving the win to Mike was it? Glenn took home 3rd! Sweet! Not bad, looks like if Ron gets to race ever again, he'll have his work cut out for him! Not to mention if Joseph comes back!
I finally won a race at Rosewood! Yeah, TQ'd with 16 laps with Blake next to me about 5 seconds behind also with 16 laps. I actually made it thru the first time this time with Blake following close by. I was able to keep ahead of him by a few turns through out most of the race until I started to get hammered by lapped traffic. Which in one instant took out my Left front CVD and then lost the oneway outdrive. This left my car with only 3wd. It was very hard taking left turns as it wanted to hook my car around. So I had to ease off. This closed the gap with Blake behind. I had to drive a defense line blocking him to keep the lead until he bobbled up with another car. This gave me leeway with only a few laps left. Had he not been in a few wrecks, he would have surely won if I couldn't keep him behind me!
Gas Touring was pretty close between 1st and 2nd. As they switch back and forth with close lap times. Lead changes happened a few times. But a few mistakes left Blake in 2nd as he was gaining with faster lap times near the end.
Anyhow, it was a fun day. I actually accomplished more than what I wanted. That was to get consistant mid 19 sec laps. I did that and also cut in about 2 high 18 sec lap times. So 16 laps will be the target for Stock Class unless if you can maintain an average lap time quicker than 18.75 seconds. To get 16 your average laps have to be quicker than 20 seconds. I think my "average" lap time was about 19.63 for my best qualifier.
Blah blah blah, Had fun. See yall again for Touring in 2 weeks! If I have off next Saturday, I'll be there for some Stock Truck! L8Rz

Like Jimmy said, it was a fun day of racing. Great weather too. The spec class was tight all day. Jimmy was strong all day and tough in the main. If he had'nt bobbled, he had it locked. But, Mike Dennett was there and when the door opened, he flew through it giving him the win. Jimmy took second and on my first day out with my new TC set up by Chris Johnson and Jimmy Mac, I nabbed third! Thanks Jimmy for the lone of a pinion and your charger. Next week i'll have my own stuff set up. In the stock class Jimmy Mac was diled all day with 19 second laps. In the main he was leading and blew a one way out and only had 3 wheel drive. He nursed it the last minute or so and Blake was comming up hard on him. But at the buzzer and the line it was Jimmy Mac all the way. Great driving by all. In the gas class Kevin and Blake traded leads several times. Kevin was running an out of the box RTR / NTC3! Blake had the horse power and was screaming around the corners. After a few bobbles though, Kevin took the win. Kevin drove a flawless race and his car was diled. Third went to Brad Brewczak who also drove a good race. I want to thank all of the drivers that came out today and hope you had some fun. Ron, i'm sorry you missed it bud. maybe next time.
Cya saturday on the dirt!

I would just like to take the time to put some things out!
Glen- You have a great thing with the indoor track, this is the only one that I know of within about a 5 hour drive for Va and NC. Over half of the guys there this past Sat. drove over 2 1/2 hours to race there! The turnouts last year were great and I think with the Big races on the East coast this summer that more people will race there this winter! But there has to be some track maintenance done, the track is not going to make it until NEXT race season!!
The hole in the sweeper needs to be repaired! The table top needs a lip at the top, a race should not be decided on who flips the less! The hole at the bottom of the table top need to be packed and filled in!
Last year didn't you not water the track and it got very hard packed! Watering until the water is standing and then running on it five mins. later does nothing but break the track up!! Maybe a LITTLE mist would be OK, just enough to keep the dust down!
A few of us saw this same thing at another track that had a not too good ending because the racers stopped coming because of the track conditions and lack of maintenance!
I would hate to see this happen at Rosewood!!
Josh, Jady, Jerry, John and myself all said that if you would open just alittle eariler we would try and work on the track before everyone gets there!
Just some things that we were talking about this past Sat.

Anthony, Thanks for the input. I know it has been awhile since we have been able to do the maintenance that is required. I'm not offering excusses, when my pinched nerve in my neck is better and the feeling comes back in my right arm and I can lift things again, I will try to maintain the track better than it has been. I really appreciate you guys comming to the" Wood" to race and believe me, I want it to be a great year of racing as well as everyone. Your offer to help with the maintinance is well appreciated and I can send Jimmy27 to the track as early as 9am on saturday to open for you guys if you want to help untill I am well enough to do it myself. I apologize for the way it is and hope we can all work together to get it back into shape. I am going thru tracktion at the doctors for the next three weeks and hopefully that will take care of my problem. If not, then they will have to operate on my back and neck and then I don't know how long It will take to heal. Lifting over 100 railroad ties and putting them around the asphalt track might have been a bit much for me to tackle. lol. Anyway, thanks for the offer, and like i said, i can send Jimmy27 to the track early saturday morning and let you guys in for maintenance. We want this years "WINTER BASH" to be better than last years. We also want to pack it like last year too. Nothing pleases me better than to race with 75-80 guys at the "WOOD". Anyone going to show up early this Saturday to work on the indoor track?
I have an idea or two, don't know if it's something worth doing or if anyone would even want to, but here's what I'm thinking.
1. The E-turn or Elwood section is down to the concrete in a spot or two. Why not just fill the whole thing in and make it smooth? A, it would require less maintenance and B, it would not change the character of that section. Bouncing too wide or sliding too wide makes little difference when the quick line is still cutting straight across.
2. The table-top is always going to be beat up, the lip knocked off or something, the landing area is going to be busted up or have a hole in it. Why not just fill the step on the backside? A, it would require less maintenance and B, it would not make a big change in how that area is driven. You are still going from wide open to almost stopped in the same distance with the same amount of elevation drop.
Just thought I would throw this out as "food for thought".
I feel sure Glenn has plenty to do and now with running every Saturday has even less time to do it, add a back injury on top of that and it pretty much rules out any type of major track maintenance.
So...what's the plan? Any other ideas?
Tarheel
11-10-2002, 08:31 PM
Chance, thanks for the input on the dirt track. I pretty much plan on leaving it up to the drivers that show up early on how you(they) want the track to be. If they don't show up to help, than they can't complain about it too much because i'm sure whom ever shows up to work on it will improve it. I hope we have a good croud and some good racing. :) Thanks again for the input and looking forward to guys showing up saturday early. jimmy27 promises he can be there between 9 and 9:30. Chance- The Idea with the e-turn is good, a few of us were talking about that this week! Maybe just put some dirt in it so it is not so severe! The table top just needs a better lip and the landing just needs to be packed. I don't think filling in everything is a good Idea! The track doesn't have too many jumps as it is! Also, if you fill in the table top all of that dirt will not get packed. I think Jerry and myself are going to be there early to help this week i wil have to double check with him! We would have to leave around 6am to be there at 9! Talked to Blake W. he will be there this weekend and said he could be there early he is pretty good with track main. and what to do! See you guys Sat.

Hey thanks for the picture Kilruf, had a good time with you guys at Durham. Maybe see you at the WOOD this saturday. Blake, we will be opening between 9-9:30. Jimmy27 is comming by the store to get the key and let everybody in. I will be there later as I have to open the store and get my wife set up so I can leave. I want everyone to know I really appreciate this from all you guys helping out. So far the outlook is not good for my back as far as therapy. The doctors are saying I will have to be operated on. They are going to give it two more weeks of therapy. I only hope Wayne Palmer (CHIROPRACTOR) can help prolong the operation. Anyway, enough about that. I am thankfull for your help. Hope to see everyone this saturday.

Oh almost forgot. The WOOD will have a new ramp up to the drivers stand by this weekend. Jimmy27 and I will finish it up this wednesday. A new platform for wheel chairs is added for our drivers like Bob Commings. Raced with Bob at Durham, or should say got in his way at Durham. lol. Had a good time Bob. See you at the WOOD. :)

Glenn,
Sorry to hear about your back, from experience I know that those things are a nasty deal. Are you seeing an orthopedic or a neurologist. I hope it's an orthopedic. Are you having disc surgery or something more intensive. I'm the one that helped Don yesterday in the timing booth, my name is John Ragan and I've had six spinal operations. I would be glad to talk to you about some alternatives that are out there.
Sorry about that radio glitch yesterday sometimes people have brain farts and just forget protocol. How far to your track from the Durham track. Again sorry to hear about your back if I can help let me know.

can a wood lip be added to the table top? i hope to be there this weekend, but money has been very tight so i had to cut out the fun stuff:( . what time is the track opening for maintenance?
Tarheel
11-11-2002, 06:53 PM
John, I'm seeing a neurologist for now and undergoing traction therapy. it does'nt look good and they don't think traction is going to help. I have a bone spur crimping a nerve in my neck causing my right arm to be sore, numb and tingling. I can't lift anything and feel helpless. The pain is constant and barely bearable but i refuse to take any drugs anymore. They were messing me up with high blood preasure and other side affects. My next option is a chiropractor, but i think that might give temporary reliefe. The neurologist may send me to an orthopedic for surgery to remove the spur. Apparantly i have some swelling discs with worn rings along with arthritis in the spine. Sounds like i'm falling apart at the seams. lol. I have a few more weeks of traction and then i'm going to see Wayne Palmer. From there it depends on the results. I quess time will tell. I'm just tired of hurting all the time. Anyway, thanks for the concern, and had a good time at RC Speedway. Don't worry about the glitch. S... happens. I do this for fun and i'll be back.
Part Time, I don't see any problem with adding a wood lip to the table top. Sounds like a good idea to me. Jimmy27 will be there saturday at 9am. Hope you can make it.
All the guys that show to help work on the track will get to race for free. Hope this helps with the cost of racing. Thanks again for the suggestions and everyones help. Hope we have a good turnout this saturday.

npresme, sounds like a plan. We can start with a partial fill on the E-turn, if we don't like that, we can always add more later.
My thoughts on the table-top was more of a maintenance thing, seems it is always getting hammered. I think maybe the trick is going to be getting the dirt to stay in place on the top. It seems to be a little thin in that area, which makes it easy to tear up. I see your point about the jumps and it may be worth the effort to save it.
Part-time, I'm missing the wood lip thing, just can't picture what you mean. Can you elaborate, please?

Jerry and myself will be there Sat. morning to help with the track!
Chance-we were talking about it tonight thinking maybe at the bottom of the table top adding some kind of slope instead of a flat landing that should take care of the soft spot there! The wood at the top I don't think is a good idea you don't want to jump out to far for that 180 at the landing! A few of us put a lip on the table top two weeks ago for the mains and it held up for 3 races and that was just a five min. fix! So with 6 or 7 of us there we should be able to fix everything! My hope is to get the track good enough to run some mod. buggy and some 4wd (stk. or mod.)

inpreseme,Ill be there sat, morning around 10 or so.
Glen do you have a tamper of some sort. This will help alot in keeping the track together during the race.If at all posiblecan you or some one else put water on the track friday. The track being moist will help the maintinence.
As far as the table goes part time a wood lip would cause more problems than now.The lip would shoot you out farther or more straight up.This would be very hard on equipment.Probably the easiest way to fix this is like inpreseme said.We can take a piece of wood and put this at the bottom where the table ends as a dam. Then fill dirt from top lip down and fill behind wood to track level. This would make it sort of like a rolling table top.But no more tumbles.
Just my suggestions.

Tarheel,
I understand cervical surgery too well, had C-4-5 fused in'95 and C-6-7 in '01. The worst thing about this is if they take bone off your hip to use in your neck. Of course, then you can tell everyone that you really have your a$$ on your shoulders.LOL
I understand they have made significant strides in using cadaver bone. The only other thing about this is if they go in from the front sometimes they need to move your windpipe around and you have a VERY sore throat for 10 days to two weeks. It was my left arm that was affected and I understand the dillemna about narcotics. If your surgery is as successful as mine was you will feel better very soon. Good luck!!
Thanks for the info on the spec touring class sounds like maybe a good stepping stone from novice touring. Sorry, gotta brag on my son, he won the fall series at Durham in novice touring and he has only been driving seriously about 5 months.

instead of building a lip out of dirt that just gets blown out, the thought was to add a small piece of tapered wood then a little dirt if needed. so we can get enough lift to clear the step without putting the hammer down on the top.

The way I see it, since the lip was put on top of the table top,, a lot of flipping was cured from when it was built. But, since then, the lift created by the lip was letting almost everyone land on the ground, and that is causeing the hole to be created because of virtually everyone that lands there is bottoming out. Don't think so?? Hey, your taking your truck from about 3' up and letting it drop to the ground while moving forward.
Back filling the "dropoff" parts of the thing should help as it would make it more like it was said earlier, "a rolling" table top. You would still get "air" from coming off of the flat top, but you would not be so high off the ground as to cause your suspension to collapse on touchdown. This would make your landings much more controlable and then you could set up for the turn better.
As for the race this past Saturday, I think that in all future races, the winning cars are to be left on the drivers stand and inspected while the next race is running. I've heard a few comments on how fast some people were going and it seems that a persons word isn't enough when he says he's legal. Teching needs to be done to stop this "question" from comming up. If there is any doubt,, with the way motors are now built,, challenge the driver your not so "sure" of. Weigh the car, tear the motor down, hey, most arms are what,, 15 bucks?? if you want to go that far.
But, if you are not willing to take the time to formally challenge the person,, be man enough to admit you got beat by someone whos driving better than you, or who's got a better motor maintainance program, or who might know which of his batteries work better than others,, and so on.
Jimmy Mac can plain outdrive most other drivers, and now he's hooked up with "Mindblown" and he's got real good motors and batteries. Is it really that surprising that he can come through the field and win? And I've known Jimmy Wilson for years. He's always had killer motors, knows what battery is better than others, and has finally found a form of racing that he's real good at. (God, he sucks at offroad!!) Both these guys would rather quit racing than cheat.
So to all out there that read this wherever you race,, if you doubt the guy,, put up or shut up.
Of course, this is just my opinion,, I could be wrong.

i know for a fact that jimmy mac doesn't cheat..he is more stricked on the rules than anyone..:D
about the hole on the bottom of the table top, i think its from people nosediving there and not so much of chassis bottoming out..atleast that is what i saw when i turned marshalled in front of that part of the track.everytime someone would wreck there it they would take alittle part of the track with them in front bumper or someother part of the car..

Glen... Brad/Kartrun doesn't change anything in the stock motors. Just tunes them with brush/spring combo and alittle "magic". But anyhow, his stock motors are totally legal according to ROAR. Anyways, I'll let Brad answer the rest.....

I put that post up there as a result of this past Sunday out at Durham. I overheard a few comments on how fast a few cars were, why were they going a lap quicker than everyone else,, and I also overheard a few comments on how a few cars did the same thing at Rosewood too.
I've been racing these toys for a long time, and I guess it still bothers me that there are so many people out there that would rather call others cheaters than to admit they suck as drivers.
Yes, there have been times when I've yelled out, "he's cheatin" but I'm pretty sure everyone knows I'm kidding. But these comments I've heard lately seem to be taking a little more of a complaining tone than a joking one. I for one have for years have said 'if you really think it's illegal, protest it.'.
I know Jimmy Wilson would sell his stuff before he'd cheat in a race. But it's beyond my how he can make 22 second laps with a Spec motor and battery. Hell, I have a hard time doing it with a stock motor in my TC3. As for Jimmy Mac, I've tried setting my car up the same as his,, and it does seem to go better. But when I've driven his,,, what a difference. It runs on rails. That, with a steady hand and great nerves,, is it any wonder he goes so fast?? I know that if I used his car, and he ran mine,, he'd still outrun me. It's not the car, it's the driver.
Anyhow,, if your in doubt, protest it,, don't go around complaining about how fast someone is. It only hurts this hobby, and it also hurts feelings too.:(

I plan on leaving Spec TC and moving to stock when I get better. Thanks again.

Billy, I only have one charger that will do 7amp.. that's my Integy. My Intellipeak will do 6.5amps. Perhaps you can borrow one if you don't like my Intellipeak. Oh yeah, and we need to borrow a tire truer with 1/10 touring car arbur, arbor, arbour... whatever. Scratch that.. my Integy only does 6.5amp. I think.... But I'll bring some Cleveland setups with me for you.
Sorry Ron, didn't get in touch with ya. Got off work late. But maybe we can talk about it tomorrow at the track... Well I guess at any track there will always those that say others cheat. I ran six packs through my buggy and I don't think I crashed six times from the table top, and I didn't use the step. The E turn has been tamed, it could use a little more dirt, but if you can get the inside line it's plenty fast. There are a couple of bumps in 1&2 that will upset a buggy, but I can live with those.

I'll help. I think we need some dirt. Didn't we use about all of what was good from out front? Is the large pile out back any good?
I'm not going to run pavement this Saturday, thought I might sweep all the loose stuff off the entire track. You guys think that will hurt or help?

The dirt out back is good stuff, same as the front. It came from the stuff in back. It's fine with me if you guys want to work on the indoor. I would like to see a buggy class too. Like i said before, i appreciate your help guys, and all i can do for now is some free racing. But i'm glad to give that if it will help. It's really starting to look good.

Hey Chance, not gonna run at all Sat. I was bringing my 12 scale out to run; hope we have enough of them to race. Promised Joseph I would let him drive it in one heat.
Glenn, need to get some tire's for the truck on Sat. also, we should make it to the next offroad race; we'll get there early and help on the track too. Anyway's see ya'll Sat. Hope you do run Chance, you guy's can pick on me cause I'll probably be all over the place with the 12L. Maybe I won't get in anybody's way.

Chance... Yes sweeping the dust off the track makes a HUGE difference... I tried to keep it fairly clean Sat. There is not a tire made for hard pack with a layer of dust on top, some are better than others but nothing is great...
As far as the table top I think the lip we built on top needs to be more gradual.. that could help out some people on their nose diving...There is also a rut/hole developing on the run up to the table top, we could fix that easily before it becomes a problem...

I dunno if I can run 1/12th either on Saturday since all my saddle packs will be used in my 414M2. Billy said he'd run 1/12th. Not too sure on Mark or Ortiz or Don or anyone else. I've also had glitching with mine (might be bad servo or crystals). Anyhow... Stock Touring for me Saturday with my Monster Stocks. One tuned by Mindblown... one tuned by me. Well let me head out... see yall Saturday.... oh yeah Glenn... look up Integy GP3300 batteries. Perferably stock number 33006. Wonder if you can get those? Great performance at a great price! I was thinking about sweeping "all" the loose stuff, even the loose junk on the edges that has built up. Probablly be a wheelbarrel load from the top on 1&2.
Sorry Billy, no 1/12th for me, I've pulled the electrics, cut up the saddle packs and the servo case is on back-order. I don't think there will be much pavement racing left this year, I'm done with it till next year. I'm looking at getting my other junk squared away for off road. I've always prefered dirt anyway.
I'm in the market for a used cyclone C2, if someone local is looking to change brands or upgrade, keep me in mind, please.

Hey guys hope everyone is doing well. I am hoping to race Sat. but not sure about work yet. Glen, would it be OK to come out sometime during the week to put in some practice laps and work on some things with the car. I would be more than glad to pay for the ability to get some work in with the car during the week once in awhile. Also will you be getting some 30 mm rear foams in for the nitro TC s . Well hope to see you guys this weekend for some fun. Kevin Mac.

Anyone looking for a XXX-KE buggy or a XXXT MFE truck or a XXX-NT! I need to get rid of these three kits! The gas truck has everything but a receiver, including starter box and fuel! The electric kits are rolling chassis! iF interested I can bring them to the next off-raod race if you let me know ahead of time!

The truck has full graphite, threaded shock bodies only thing I don't have is a body! You will need your electronics for the truck! I wanted a $100 for it, I don't need a trade these are my old kits
I just bought all new kits for the up coming race season!

Here's my 2 cents,,, forget about a lip on the table top, and back fill both dropoffs to make a nice ramp all the way to the ground. That way, you would carry a lot of speed into the hairpin right there and you'd really need to exercise trigger control on the brakes to get around it at a good clip. Also, it would stop a lot of the tumbling off of the thing and the turn marshal wouldn't have to run back and forth between the tabletop pileups and the hairpin/ pipe pileups. Another benefit of this would be to ability to run the track in reverse rotation if it was needed to. Of course though, then the turn 2 drop off would need to be filled in, but I think most drivers would like to see that happen anyhow.
Well, I won't be there to race again as Sam's needs me,,, But I will be there for a little while tomorrow. Hope to see everyone out there running the onroad as according to the latest weather,, it's supposed to be a really nice day.:)

rc4me2, for the out door on-road, 1/10 stock touring has the most enteries, and for indoor offroad, stock truck has the most. If you have either one of those, you will be sure to have a good turn out.
Might you be a buggy driver? We could really use a few of those.

is there a 4wd buggy class?
onroad ive run all, 10 and 12 oval and road...but i was looking to get into nitro onroad...(touring)
is there a std 1/10 gas onroad class....for 235 mm cars (not touring)?

I'll be there! And I'll bring your spec motor Glenn... I have a few more winds to rem... I mean brushes to add. :D I'll have my 414 ready to go.
RC4ME2.... Onroad just opened up a few races ago.... and with the weather getting colder... the turnouts won't be what you expect like Summer racing. But we do get at least 2 heats of Stock Touring. Mod depends on who shows as well as 1/12th. They also have the Nitro Touring as well. Plus we run 3 heats and then the mains. Swing on by to check us out tomorrow. As for offroad it's been Spec Truck and Stock Truck. Right now it's picking up. So we should have Stock Buggy rolling in. Sometimes we have Mod Truck and Mod Buggy as well. But there hasn't been enough interest in 4wd offroad (my fav). Oh yeah... Glenn has the new XXX-4 at the shop (if it's not sold already). Very nice....... I do think however... if everyone who has them would show up to race them... you'd have enough for a heat. Who knows what will happen this winter! I think the biggest race last winter indoor was like 70 or 80 entries.....
Anyhow.... see yall tomorrow.....

Good run Glenn, Jimmy and Kevin, had a blast Sat. Yeah, you're right Jimmy those monster's are fast, Joseph's car was smokin on the straight's, he had a great run with 15 lap's and 4th at the end. Not bad for a 9 year old kid, he's makin me look bad. Anyway's my car was decent, started 3rd but glitched bad at the first turn, car just sat there for a few second's after hitting the wall, thought it was broke but then it just started going again, oh well, made it back to 5th, I was pleased with that. Joseph and I also clicked a 19 sec. lap, so we're getting there. I'll keep freeing them up and lightening the drive train and we'll get some more speed.:D
12TH scale was fun but did'nt last long, Jairo was broke before the A; Mark broke on the first lap and my motor locked up on the 3rd lap. The endbell came loose.
Anyway's see you guy's this Sat. for some offroad, will try to get there early to help with track some, so see ya'll then.

I know alot of people like to run a small pinion (26) on the Monster Stockers... but yall need to try a 29/72 combo (TC3 cars). If it don't work then I'll try the 26 instead of my gearing on my TC3. Just something to consider since we do run 3 qualifiers. I think the gearing works for me because I keep the car rolling thru the turns without killing the speed with sharp turns. I like to take them smooth and wide to keep the momentum up. If you don't.. the Monster doesn't really have the torque like other motors... so it will seem sluggish coming off the turns. This is where the 26/72 gearing may seem to help alot of you. Anyhow, just offering my opinion... and letting others know what I run. ;)
Glenn, I think you should run the Monster Stock in your car and run it untouched. It's pretty fast as it is with out some else "touching it up." And I think the GP3300 will be the best batteries for you due to the low resistance. I wasn't really impressed with the Sanyo 3300s. They ran okay. But not like my Panasonic Ultra's. I dunno.... I'll have to give the Sanyo's a couple more runs.
Blah blah blah..... let me go.... See you next time outdoors Glenn...... I'll be out in Cleveland this coming weekend! :) Oh and to those that read this but don't post..... I noticed that alot of racers didn't have much of a rear wing on their cars. Just a suggestion, but try a body with a good size wing and you'll notice a great noticable improvement in the handling of your car. I noticed alot of people with "loose" cars because they had no wing/or angle to the wing. Just an observation... ;) Catch yall next time....

Yeah, I had 26 pinion's on our car's, but that was mainly cause I did'nt want to heat up the motor's at all; and to see what they would do. Gonna move my pinion on up next time out for sure, but Joseph's car was so fast I'm leaving it like it is, and we'll see how it is too. Probably need to change the wing too, my car was a little loose, gonna change my setup a little also, closer too what Joseph's was; his car worked really good and was free in the turn's. What compound Jaco's are you guy's running? The TRC's I had are just about gone so I need to pick some up from Glenn.
Anyway's, Jimmy, Billy, good luck up in Cleveland.
