Hey guys, I'd though I'd through in my two cents worth here.
I just bought a Electric Stampede Kit and put it together in about 4 days (my first kit). Wow....I found it difficult. But you know what? The satifaction I felt when I looked at that completed car made it all worthwhile. The thing is though, I never would have built the kit, had I not bought used cars previously.
I bought: A Losi JRXT in March, A Nitro Rustler in May, A Losi XX KE in June, and a Losi XXX KE in August (they've all been sold except for the Losi JRXT). I bought the kit because I was frustrated that I didn't know how the RC's worked. I almost gave up on the hobby altogether. But now, I do understand and it feels great. I think RTR's can help people be interested in the kits, IF they have that kind of mindset. But if they don't, hey at least they are pouring money into the hobby, and that benefits everyone.
P.S. The XXX-4 looks SWEET!!

I just wanted the people who bash RTR to realize that not all people who buy pre-assembled cars are RTR'ers (is that even a word?) :D for life. We may be like those people who stick their toe into the lake to see if they wanna go in, instead of jumping straight in.

Im not against rtr's... its ok... but i do highly suggest for those who want to get in the game to get one... then later if they wanna know more then i suggest a easy to mild kit to put together... there is a hobby shop near my place where these guys dont know diddly squat... i was there doin most of the explanation while the guy behind the counter stood quiet... he really didnt know how to answer this guys question... and my friend and i acted as if we worked there... to bad we didnt payed... with RC PARTS!!!:p

I know what your saying about some guys at the LHS knowing nothing. There are two Hobby Shops within 20 mins of my house.
The one that is further away is awesome, there are like 1 expert in every area of R/C (boats, cars, planes) at all times. But the other one SUCKS! The only guy that knew anything left, and the owner knows very little about it. Fortunately, I have a good buddy that helps me out.
P.S. I just bought a used Losi Rally Weapon...anyone know much about them?

usualy privatly owned bussineses are better because the owners normaly got into that line of work because they like it a chain is just for money and not a freindly
