A stock motor is a 27-turn single-wind motor with 24° timing (non-adjustable).

so its like the standard motor that comes with kits.?

It depends on the kit.

My Evader came with a 20-turn single-wind Photon Speed motor, while my XXX-T Matt Francis Edition didn't come with a motor.

Most of the motors that come with RTR packages suck. You need to get something like a Green Machine 3, P2k2 Pro, or something similar to get a real stock motor.

Sure, a new motor and ESC would improve the speed of the Mad Bull.

A Trinity Green Machine 3 has high RPMs (speed).
A Trinity P2k has high torque (acceleration).
A Trinity P2k2 has a good mix of RPM and torque.

All 3 motors are $24.99 at Tower Hobbies.

Then you can get an entry-level ESC for around $50. Something like the LRP IPC Sport (on Tower's site, it's listed as Associated IPC Sport) at $49.99 would be a good one.

I would recommend that you go with a mild modified (19-17 turn). Companies like Reedy, Team Orion and Trinity have machine-wound modified motors for less than $35. If you entering stock racing at a track, then the P2k will do.

Don't go down too far though ... the gearbox might not be able to handle the horsepower.

Another possibility is the Trinity Spec Rebuildable Motor, a 21-turn single-wind motor. More power and speed (insert Tim Allen grunts here) than a stock motor at a good price ($27.99). Or you could try a Trinity Chameleon 2 19-turn single-wind motor for $31.99 if you wanted more speed.

Nope ... stock is 27-turn single-wind.
