Im not a crystal pro but i think you need to use what your original radio has... like if it was a 75mhz... then you will need to use crystals of that smae frequency range... i.e. 75.049-75.994 something like that do you know what i mean? im lost lol

I meant I'm ordering a new radio.... should I get 27MHz or 75MHz?

-Not racing, just playing

-Nitro and electric

-it's an FM radio

Thought I remembered hearing somewhere that 27 was better for nitro????? If so, didn't know if that only pertained to AM... this radio will be FM

In your case it doesnt really matter.

For racing 75 is better because more channels are available.

I would still get 75 if I were you, less chance of some kid with a radio shack messing you up, or a plane or any other rc, with 75, you only need to worry about other rc cars and not toys and other things.

This is another Ford Vs Chevy-Mac Vs PC-Losi Vs Associated issue - you'll here arguments on both sides of the fence . . . .

TRUE that there are less channels on 27 mHz. PARTLY true about the Radio Shack frequencies, although a lot of them are on 27, many are on that funky 49 mhz channel.

My two cents - I've been in this over 10 yrs and see a lot of glitching on the track. I always ask what band. Invariably they answer 75 mhz. Whether there's any truth to that, or it's just the way they were set up is anyone's guess - I see more glitching on 75 mHz AM than anywhere else.

All of my radios are on 27, never had any hiccups or glitches unless the batteries are low or someone forgets to extend the TX antenna.

Don't know about FM, anyone else?

My favorite memory is of one day at race day, the Guy with All The Money (you know him, there's at least one at every track) shows up with a brand new $300 PCM radio. Well . . . he was glitching so bad he had to go home, he couldn't even drive. He wasn't very happy about it either . . . other than that don't know about PCM either though I hear it's T.O.L.
