Almost completed, but ready for first test flight. Scootz has an all foam airframe with the addition of carbon rod wing struts. All up weight is 29.2 gms.The span is 16 inches with an area of 60 square inches. She was designed to test various foam construction techniques. The power plant is a KPU-80 and a 170 mah LiPoly battery.

Hi Roy,

Be sure your pictures don't "weight" more than approx. 60k. Then you might have no problem. ;)

Thanks FLB, but I've tried several files all between 35 and 40K. No luck though.

So for me it seems to work well.

How did you do to attach your pictures?

When I filled out the note there is a section to "Attach file" with a comment not to exceed 61440 bytes. I hit browse and opened the file I wanted to send and then I hit submit.

Well... :( I don't understand because you do the right think.

If you want e-mail me one of your pictures and I will try to post it. So we will see if the problem is with the RCzone forum or with your mail.

Roy,

I received 3 attached files: scootzborder.jpg (135k), scootz01.jpg (54k) and scootz02.jpg (48k).

I'm not able to open the first one scootzborder.jpg but the others two might work without problem.

So, try to post scootz01 and scootz02 separately. If it's not working I will do it. But after all the work you have done on this sweet tiny plane I try to let you having the pleasure to post them ;)

Frederic

Thanks Fred, Maybe one of the moderators will be able to help me do this on my own. Looking at the pictures I was reminded that I need to put some registration numbers on her.
Thanks again, Roy

Hi Roy,

How did you do the "fake" under frame on your model. Did you glue something on the foam before painting?

Hi Fred, I'll try to explain. The fuse starts out with a white foam (1 bl density) base that averages agout 3/8 inches thick. Formers are made from 1/8 blue foam sheets. There are four formers in this plane. I then cut thin sheets of blue foam about .085 inches thick and lightly sanded them. I made up some templates for the flat state of the three sheeted pieces. The templates are made from lamination of paper and card stock.
All the places are raised on the fuse , wings and tail surfaces are depressions in the templates. I then press the foam to about 3/4's the thickness they started out. The result is a harder, smoother and embossed surface. There are a couple of other ways of making the fuse sheets included using printer paper instead of foam or pre-film covering the blue foam before it is attached to the frame. I hope that explains it.
Thanks for the interest. Roy

Hello Roy,
About posting the pictures. I have Windows 98, and use the following process. I store the picture file in the "My dcuments" folder, where I check that the file size is OK. I then hit the browse tab, and click on the folder my documents. I then hit "open" and submit reply.
I hope this helps, Dave

Hi Dave, Thanks . You open the folder and not the file. I'll give that a try.
