I'd say do it just like in the pic u posted b4, except with silver racing stripes along the hood and roof (sound familiar? lol.:D ). one problem though: i dont think that body comes with a detailed decal sheet w/ grill, dodge markings, etc. (but they can always b made, bought, or better yet, painted on:)) so, i think u r gonna need 3 colors: red, silver, and black (for the door handles, trim, and probably grill area) and some time laying out and designing a custom twist or two, with either decals (can b bought separately to spiff it up) or actually paint it on.

Maniac- Good idea, i think i'll put a twist in the silver stripes just before the widsheild. Body detail decals include grille, headlights, tailights and the Dodge Ram icon. other than that i will have to paint the bumpers and stripes silver and the doorhandles i think i'll also do in silver, or chrome if i can find some chrome spray. Thanx for the idea. I also purchased a fairing for behind the cab and a visor for over the windsheild, andthing special i should do with them, or just continue the stipes. Thanx again, i'm definately gonna take that idea.

I was lookin' at some posts today, thinkin' about puttin' carbon fiber in the grille area. Good idea??? Also, i think i'll do everything that was listed as silver in chrome (stripes, grille, doorhandles, bumpers, ect.). And was hoping to find some mirrors and paint them chrome too (any idea where to find 1/10th scale truck mirrors?).

well, i meant "a custom twist" as another way of saying extra details or a special color combo or stuff like that, but i guess u took me quite literally mentioning the twist in the stripes right b4 the windshield. oh well, sounds like it could b cool. If u want chrome paint, it will cost u $$$. U need an airbrush (about $60+, depending on brand, features, etc.), a power source for that brush(either about $10 for a can of air to ??? for a compressor-style source), chrome paint (i'd guess about $10 for an ounce or two, being that its relatively new. as i said: expensive), and of course a body to paint it onto(at least $20). but if u have the money, i guess it could b done (except u'll roll over and die when u have ur first crash with the body, cuz the paintjob is worth at least 1/4 of the price of the truck itself) post a pic when its done. i'd like to see it. ill do the same when i get mine done (which wont b for a little bit) l8r.

I already have an airbrush of sorts that i could use. Not a professional job, but it should work, as for the rest of the paint i might use cans.

oh. still, the paintjob will cost much more than a normal paintjob would. in regards to the carbon fiber idea for the grille, it may look cool, then again, might not. it would give a good texture to it instead of it being just black, but it may look a little weird. id say get a little shett of carbon fiber decal and try it, and if it doesnt work, just paint it black afterwards. And as for the 1/10 scale mirrors, i havent seen ne for ne car ever, so im guessing ur out of luck there. hope this helps. :) l8r

One question. Flat paint. It will turn gloss through lexan right???

When it is freshly painted and cut, yes it does, but over time as the body is run in, crashed, scuffed, etc. it looses its glossiness pretty quickly.

I was looking at doing something similar to a Dakota. I want a red dakota with silver racing stripes very simple but cool (to me)
I want to find someone who could do this simple job for simple $. I was quoted at $30 by a local shop. that is without the body. I would go for it with body included but I dont want a work of art. just a simple job. ( I do not paint at all and don't really want to)

I just need to find a cheap painter :p
