I have two airbrush setups I have never used & was wondering if they are even worth trying with the new water based lexan paints.
1) Badger 350 single action
1) Testors (Aztek) A320 single action w/propellant
I can convert them to CO2 powered.
Should I scrap them & get a better new airbrush , or with CO2 can they work well for car bodies?
Thanks
Mike

Personally, I think it would be foolish to scrap them and buy something new before you try them. I have a 320 and its a nice brush for starting out with (use the black and white nozzles) and then for keeping for spraying larger areas. Then once you get used to them and and once you see if you actually like airbrushing your cars, then move up to an Iwata Revolution or Eclipse.
I am planning on setting up a CO2 system soon myself.

I have a badger 350, that's what I use on everything. Though I think I may have finally surpassed it's flexability and will be getting an Iwata Revolution or Eclipse for Christmas :D
Are you guys mening C02 powered like from an air tank?? Nevermind I'll post a new tread... don't want to interfere with yours here :)

I will have to try them out, but the testors has a chezzy air tube for the propellant. The badger looks better.
At was psi should I aim for?

Depends on the paint you are using... I usually just keep turning the pressure up untill I find it flowinf how I want. I think it's around 40psi for Createx?
Put the again, I thought I may be using too much pressure lately... just play with it and have fun :) Well, untill one of the guys that really know what they are doing comes on here and tells you how to do it correctly that is! :p

I bought my nephew a Badger 350 for his first airbrush and tought him to use it on his new Bolink Camero body. I thought it worked pretty well. I used about 30lbs of pressure; I think 40 may be too high and lead to some spidering if you get too close. I plan on buying a couple more Cresendos soon and use them just for RC cars. I like badge products and wouldn't hesitate to reccomend them.

I buy all of my airbrushes and paints at www.bearair.com. They have good prices and excellent customer service. I also (as stated above) would recommend the Badger 175 Crescendo (med tip or large tip). It's about $53 and is simmilar to the Paasche VL but with extra conveniences like a snap off handle for quick needle cleaning. I have seven of these Crescendos now, and love the ease of cleaning and durability. They are also very versitle. I use the medium tips mainly as I use thick fabric paint, but I have stepped them down to small tips for more detail painting and they work just as well.
Go online or call Bear Air (1-888-232-7247) personally. Tell them what your painting and your price limit and let them walk you through the selection if you still need advice.
