I don't think that T-Maxx rims will fit, you will probably have to get some hubs made unless there is any adaptors out there already.

You would need to buy Savage 21 Wheel Hubs, pins, nuts, and locks to use other wheels an tires. They are a direct fit for the X-Factor Hubs.

Would you like some more info on this truck, follow me on this link and all your questions will be answered in no time.

I found some on ebay for less than $400

hey fellas, i been lookign round for a good MT for a lil while now. basically only checked out the main ones, you know the
t maxx's, savage's, ek4's....

but the fact that the x factor has crazy articulting 4 link suspension, reverse, a beefy engine, and came with electronics, i almost fell in love:p but i was looking for some vids of this bad boy.

i basically wanna know if it can holds long wheelies, and if that 4 link is tough enough, and has enough travel for big time bashing. from what i hear it doesn't soak up rough terrian to well but i sure one of you could help me out with that, maybe change shock oil, or get shocks form a diff MT.

Thanks for your help,
shane

what rims does the x-factor share, any? what size? 17mm, 14mm?

Stalker911

Not sure what size they are but they are around the same size as the tires on the EK4, maybe a little bigger or smaller... the X-Factor looks super cool! I was going to get one, but I got a WICKED deal on a Dominator Extreme that I couldn't pass up :D

Hey people, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the XTM racing .21 pro motor. From what I can gather the 24/7 is just a bigger version of the motor I have. My motor is still in the box. I'm no newbie to nitro but am just wondering if anyone could give me any tips or problems that they have experienced with common XTM stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also bought XTM flywheel clucth & clutch nut. I am putting it in a HPI Nitro MT.

sheesh, it's been a long while since i last posted (probably about 3 or 4 months) and i still am on deployment...230 days and counting. anyways, i saw from some posts about the upgrade kit for the X and i must say, like others, that i'm still very impressed with the Support that mike G and craig K are dishin out. i'll be getting my X when i get home. i've pretty much scrapped the plan to make a guard for the muffler, i'll probably just end up gettin the wheelie bars and all the other upgrades:D '

I think the Mammoth is cool if you live near any of the HP stores. Other than that I wouldn't recommend it because getting parts must be special ordered. I also think its damn ugly, but other bods and soon to be released Maxx axles should make it purty. I had a good look at one and I see potential.

Stix, when are you gonna do the Savage axles or hopups? Your truck looks too stock like many X's out there...but its still nice though!

Stix
12-15-2003, 07:02 AM
Burnout, i'll do the hopups when i can, as military doesn't pay as well as i'd like, don't often have the extra bones to get stuff. i already have plans to get the wheelie bar and go from there. wheels are a definate future item. i just noticed the other day that the wheels are rubbin the turnbuckle...oh well.

Almost forgot about the wheelie bar! Stupid XTM should've equipped it in the first place. I would never run it without one. You also gotta get rid of that crap r box and get yourself a true 3ch setup. Here is one more pic of the X Factor before I get that rollcage:o .

Stix
12-18-2003, 12:40 PM
i don't know why yer doggin me about havin a stock truck, looks like all you've done to your truck is put wheels on it. and i'm gonna keep the r-box until it proves to me that i need to get rid of it. i agree that the truck should have come with a wheelie bar, but's it's obvious that it wasn't included until the end users started wanting it to save the exhaust pipe.

i ain't disrespectin your truck at all, just makin a point. i havn't had a lick of trouble with my R-box yet, and like i said in an earlier post, i don't have the money to put a lot of upgrades or put a roll cage or wheels on all at one time.

does anyone have any idea on how to mount a suv style body? I also found that quite a few bodies for the t-maxx are too narrow, and they start to rub on the shocks.

moon buggy
02-29-2004, 10:32 PM
burnout how are you going to secure the panels to the roll cage?

Burnout
03-19-2004, 03:39 PM
moon buggy, the panels are secured with zip ties. I already bought a sheet of lexan and its already mounted to the cage. A few small holes were drilled to pass the zip tie through. I also like the use of the lexan because you can paint them like regular clear bodies.

Sadly, I no longer have a digital camera. No pics to show off!:(

is there an XTM distribution outside of the US? reason being I'm in the UK and I wouldnt mind getting an X-factor at some point, its just gonna cost a fair bit to get one across the pond......

plus spares might be a bit problematic/expensive if I have to order from the US all the time.... :(

its just that it seems to be one of the few Nitros that I would like to buy, but it seems to be a US only distribution....

;)

I think Carson and some other company (they call it Maloo Xtreme?) has the X Factor. Both without the XTM 24.7 and I "think" they are out in Europe.

The X Factor is more of a niche truck. Its also one of the reasons I bought it because it is different. Plus I have plenty of Hobby People around me :D .

I have dicovered that the XTM mammoth is being sold in the UK under the branding of GV models, that is at least a start.....however they show no knowledge of the X-factor....:(

I'm guessing they're picking the one they think will have most commercial appeal.....shame tho...I hope they bring the X-factor to the UK....but as you say its more of a niche market, they probably wouldnt sell as many X-factors as mammoths for example.....oh well I'll keep looking...

hi,everyone i have ran in the engine now and pulls great wheelies the truck runs really well, the only down side i have got for this truck is on both of the drive shafts where it turns the wheels is that the grub screws keep falling out and when you lock tight the grub screws then the pin in the coupler fall out.but it jumps hills better than my savage 25 :D

jerry73
12-29-2004, 10:59 AM
How did you rewire the steering servo. Do you just reverse the wiring on the rear servo to the Y-wire harness. Will doing this make it steer the opisite direction from the fronts.

thanks

well, i just finished my 4 wheel steering on the truck, and might i say, it really helps this thing corner, and crouch in the turns. it wasnt very hard to do. the servo was the trickiest part. i used a splitter cable to run both the front and rear servos, but that made the wheels turn the SAME way.so i had to rewire one of the servos to run backwards, which was a pain, but well worth it. ill post some pics in a couple of days.
the truck is sweet, but the stock suspension setup sucks. WAY too stiff with the springs. i put a pair of silver, and a pair of red springs on it and now it REALLY articulates. just use rear buggy springs.
also, the tires leave a lot to be desired, i mean, 7 inches tall with no foams? what were they thinking. i had real rollover problems till i added a set of trinity maxx low-roll foams, they work great, tight fit, but it killed the rollover problem. i want to upgrade to a different tire, i was thinking that some terra crusher tires would work really well, i think the size is pretty close. any thoughts on that?
i also changed out the radio, to my xr-3, so im already rid of that cheesy shifter box thingy. (i just hate to wait ten seconds for reverse)
its super durable, too.. (ive already seen two savages fall apart at the track, HPI quality)
i just cant wait to see what the aftermarket will come up with for this thing.

all said, i am really impressed with the truck after some minor changes... but box-stock im not so sure about it... not recommended for a beginner, but with some tweaking, its the best truck out there.
if you get this truck, dont even drive it till you have tire foams, and springs, youll enjoy it alot more. ill have some pics up soon
